  1. What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather, discovered in this matter?
  2. If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about--but not before God.
  3. What does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness."
  4. Now when a man works, his wages are not credited to him as a gift, but as an obligation.
  5. However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness.
  1. Bəs onda cismani əcdadımız İbrahim haqqında nə deyə bilərik? O nə əldə etdi?
  2. Əgər İbrahim öz əməlləri ilə saleh sayılsaydı, öyünməyə haqqı olardı, amma Allahın önündə yox.
  3. Müqəddəs Yazı nə deyir? «İbrahim Allaha iman etdi və bu ona salehlik sayıldı».
  4. Əməl edənin muzdu ona hədiyyə sayılmaz, bu onun haqqıdır.
  5. Lakin əməl etməyib allahsız adamları saleh sayan Allaha iman edən şəxsin imanı ona salehlik sayılır.
 
 
  1. David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:
  2. "Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.
  3. Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will never count against him."
  4. Is this blessedness only for the circumcised, or also for the uncircumcised? We have been saying that Abraham's faith was credited to him as righteousness.
  5. Under what circumstances was it credited? Was it after he was circumcised, or before? It was not after, but before!
  1. Davud da o adamın bəxtiyarlığından danışır ki, Allah əməlinə baxmayıb onu saleh sayır:
  2. «Üsyankarlığı bağışlanan, Günahı əfv olunan insan Nə bəxtiyardır!
  3. Rəbb tərəfindən təqsirkar sayılmayan insan Nə bəxtiyardır!»
  4. Məgər bu bəxtiyarlıq yalnız sünnətlilərə məxsusdur, yoxsa sünnətsizlərə də aiddir? Bəli, biz deyirik ki, İbrahimin imanı ona salehlik sayıldı.
  5. Nə vəziyyətdə sayıldı? Sünnət olunandan sonra, yoxsa sünnət olunandan əvvəl? Sünnət olunandan sonra deyil, sünnət olunandan əvvəl!
 
 
  1. And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. So then, he is the father of all who believe but have not been circumcised, in order that righteousness might be credited to them.
  2. And he is also the father of the circumcised who not only are circumcised but who also walk in the footsteps of the faith that our father Abraham had before he was circumcised.
  3. It was not through law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith.
  4. For if those who live by law are heirs, faith has no value and the promise is worthless,
  5. because law brings wrath. And where there is no law there is no transgression.
  1. O, sünnətsiz ikən imanla malik olduğu salehliyi təsdiq edən möhür olaraq sünnət əlamətini aldı. Beləcə İbrahim sünnətsiz olaraq iman edən hamının atası oldu ki, onlara da imanları salehlik sayılsın.
  2. Atamız İbrahim həm də o sünnətli olanların atası oldu ki, sadəcə sünnətli olmaqla qalmayıb, onun sünnət edilməmişdən əvvəl malik olduğu iman izi ilə gedirlər.
  3. Çünki İbrahimə və onun nəslinə dünyanı irs almaq vədi Qanun vasitəsilə deyil, imanla saleh sayılmaq vasitəsilə verildi.
  4. Əgər Qanuna əsaslananlar varis olsaydı, onda iman mənasız, vəd də təsirsiz olardı.
  5. Çünki qanun Allahın qəzəbini üzə çıxarır. Amma qanun olmayan yerdə onun pozulması da olmur.
 
 
  1. Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham's offspring--not only to those who are of the law but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.
  2. As it is written: "I have made you a father of many nations." He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed--the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were.
  3. Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, "So shall your offspring be."
  4. Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead--since he was about a hundred years old--and that Sarah's womb was also dead.
  5. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,
  1. Buna görə də vəd imanla həyata keçir ki, Allahın lütfünə bağlı olsun və İbrahimin bütün nəslini – yalnız Qanuna deyil, İbrahimin malik olduğu həmin imana da əsaslananları əhatə etsin. İbrahim iman etdiyi Allahın – ölülərə həyat verən, yoxluqdan varlıq yaradan Allahın önündə hamımızın atasıdır. Necə ki yazılıb: «Səni çoxlu millətin atası etdim».
  3. Heç bir ümid olmadığı halda İbrahim çoxlu millətin atası olacağına ümidlə inandı. Çünki ona deyilmişdi ki, «nəslin o qədər olacaq».
  4. Hətta təxminən yüz yaşında ikən öz bədəninin artıq ölüyə bənzədiyini, arvadı Saranın da bətninin ölü olduğunu anladı, amma imanı azalmadı.
  5. Allahın vədinə imansızlıqla şübhə etmədi, əksinə, imanında möhkəm durub Allahı izzətləndirdi.
 
 
  1. being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.
  2. This is why "it was credited to him as righteousness."
  3. The words "it was credited to him" were written not for him alone,
  4. but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness--for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.
  5. He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.
  1. Tamamilə əmin idi ki, Allah verdiyi vədi yerinə yetirməyə də qadirdir.
  2. Buna görə də imanı ona salehlik sayıldı.
  3. «Salehlik sayıldı» sözləri yalnız İbrahim üçün yazılmayıb;
  4. Rəbbimiz İsanı ölülər arasından Dirildənə iman etməklə saleh sayılacaq bizlər üçün də belə yazılmışdır.
  5. İsa bizim təqsirlərimizə görə ölümə təslim edildi və bizim saleh sayılmağımız üçün dirildi.
