  1. И встал Иаков и пошел в землю сынов востока.
  2. И увидел: вот, на поле колодезь, и там три стада мелкого скота, лежавшие около него, потому что из того колодезя поили стада. Над устьем колодезя был большой камень.
  3. Когда собирались туда все стада, отваливали камень от устья колодезя и поили овец; потом опять клали камень на свое место, на устье колодезя.
  4. Иаков сказал им: братья мои! откуда вы? Они сказали: мы из Харрана.
  5. Он сказал им: знаете ли вы Лавана, сына Нахорова? Они сказали: знаем.
  1. Then Jacob went on his journey, and came to the land of the sons of the east.
  2. He looked, and saw a well in the field, and behold, three flocks of sheep were lying there beside it, for from that well they watered the flocks. Now the stone on the mouth of the well was large.
  3. When all the flocks were gathered there, they would then roll the stone from the mouth of the well and water the sheep, and put the stone back in its place on the mouth of the well.
  4. Jacob said to them, "My brothers, where are you from?" And they said, "We are from Haran."
  5. He said to them, "Do you know Laban the son of Nahor?" And they said, "We know him."
 
 
  1. Он еще сказал им: здравствует ли он? Они сказали: здравствует; и вот, Рахиль, дочь его, идет с овцами.
  2. И сказал: вот, дня еще много; не время собирать скот; напойте овец и пойдите, пасите.
  3. Они сказали: не можем, пока не соберутся все стада, и не отвалят камня от устья колодезя; тогда будем мы поить овец.
  4. Еще он говорил с ними, как пришла Рахиль с мелким скотом отца своего, потому что она пасла.
  5. Когда Иаков увидел Рахиль, дочь Лавана, брата матери своей, и овец Лавана, брата матери своей, то подошел Иаков, отвалил камень от устья колодезя и напоил овец Лавана, брата матери своей.
  1. And he said to them, "Is it well with him?" And they said, "It is well, and here is Rachel his daughter coming with the sheep."
  2. He said, "Behold, it is still high day; it is not time for the livestock to be gathered. Water the sheep, and go, pasture them."
  3. But they said, "We cannot, until all the flocks are gathered, and they roll the stone from the mouth of the well; then we water the sheep."
  4. While he was still speaking with them, Rachel came with her father's sheep, for she was a shepherdess.
  5. When Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mother's brother, and the sheep of Laban his mother's brother, Jacob went up and rolled the stone from the mouth of the well and watered the flock of Laban his mother's brother.
 
 
  1. И поцеловал Иаков Рахиль и возвысил голос свой и заплакал.
  2. И сказал Иаков Рахили, что он родственник отцу ее и что он сын Ревеккин. А она побежала и сказала отцу своему.
  3. Лаван, услышав о Иакове, сыне сестры своей, выбежал ему навстречу, обнял его и поцеловал его, и ввел его в дом свой; и он рассказал Лавану всё сие.
  4. Лаван же сказал ему: подлинно ты кость моя и плоть моя. И жил у него [Иаков] целый месяц.
  5. И Лаван сказал Иакову: неужели ты даром будешь служить мне, потому что ты родственник? скажи мне, что заплатить тебе?
  1. Then Jacob kissed Rachel, and lifted his voice and wept.
  2. Jacob told Rachel that he was a relative of her father and that he was Rebekah's son, and she ran and told her father.
  3. So when Laban heard the news of Jacob his sister's son, he ran to meet him, and embraced him and kissed him and brought him to his house. Then he related to Laban all these things.
  4. Laban said to him, "Surely you are my bone and my flesh." And he stayed with him a month.
  5. Then Laban said to Jacob, "Because you are my relative, should you therefore serve me for nothing? Tell me, what shall your wages be?"
 
 
  1. У Лавана же было две дочери; имя старшей: Лия; имя младшей: Рахиль.
  2. Лия была слаба глазами, а Рахиль была красива станом и красива лицем.
  3. Иаков полюбил Рахиль и сказал: я буду служить тебе семь лет за Рахиль, младшую дочь твою.
  4. Лаван сказал: лучше отдать мне ее за тебя, нежели отдать ее за другого кого; живи у меня.
  5. И служил Иаков за Рахиль семь лет; и они показались ему за несколько дней, потому что он любил ее.
  1. Now Laban had two daughters; the name of the older was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel.
  2. And Leah's eyes were weak, but Rachel was beautiful of form and face.
  3. Now Jacob loved Rachel, so he said, "I will serve you seven years for your younger daughter Rachel."
  4. Laban said, "It is better that I give her to you than to give her to another man; stay with me."
  5. So Jacob served seven years for Rachel and they seemed to him but a few days because of his love for her.
 
 
  1. И сказал Иаков Лавану: дай жену мою, потому что мне уже исполнилось время, чтобы войти к ней.
  2. Лаван созвал всех людей того места и сделал пир.
  3. Вечером же взял дочь свою Лию и ввел ее к нему; и вошел к ней [Иаков].
  4. И дал Лаван служанку свою Зелфу в служанки дочери своей Лии.
  5. Утром же оказалось, что это Лия. И сказал Лавану: что это сделал ты со мною? не за Рахиль ли я служил у тебя? зачем ты обманул меня?
  1. Then Jacob said to Laban, "Give me my wife, for my time is completed, that I may go in to her."
  2. Laban gathered all the men of the place and made a feast.
  3. Now in the evening he took his daughter Leah, and brought her to him; and Jacob went in to her.
  4. Laban also gave his maid Zilpah to his daughter Leah as a maid.
  5. So it came about in the morning that, behold, it was Leah! And he said to Laban, "What is this you have done to me? Was it not for Rachel that I served with you? Why then have you deceived me?"
 
 
  1. Лаван сказал: в нашем месте так не делают, чтобы младшую выдать прежде старшей;
  2. окончи неделю этой, потом дадим тебе и ту за службу, которую ты будешь служить у меня еще семь лет других.
  3. Иаков так и сделал и окончил неделю этой. И [Лаван] дал Рахиль, дочь свою, ему в жену.
  4. И дал Лаван служанку свою Валлу в служанки дочери своей Рахили.
  5. [Иаков] вошел и к Рахили, и любил Рахиль больше, нежели Лию; и служил у него еще семь лет других.
  1. But Laban said, "It is not the practice in our place to marry off the younger before the firstborn.
  2. "Complete the week of this one, and we will give you the other also for the service which you shall serve with me for another seven years."
  3. Jacob did so and completed her week, and he gave him his daughter Rachel as his wife.
  4. Laban also gave his maid Bilhah to his daughter Rachel as her maid.
  5. So Jacob went in to Rachel also, and indeed he loved Rachel more than Leah, and he served with Laban for another seven years.
 
 
  1. Господь узрел, что Лия была нелюбима, и отверз утробу ее, а Рахиль была неплодна.
  2. Лия зачала и родила сына, и нарекла ему имя: Рувим, потому что сказала она: Господь призрел на мое бедствие; ибо теперь будет любить меня муж мой.
  3. И зачала опять и родила сына, и сказала: Господь услышал, что я нелюбима, и дал мне и сего. И нарекла ему имя: Симеон.
  4. И зачала еще и родила сына, и сказала: теперь-то прилепится ко мне муж мой, ибо я родила ему трех сынов. От сего наречено ему имя: Левий.
  5. И еще зачала и родила сына, и сказала: теперь-то я восхвалю Господа. Посему нарекла ему имя Иуда. И перестала рождать.
  1. Now the LORD saw that Leah was unloved, and He opened her womb, but Rachel was barren.
  2. Leah conceived and bore a son and named him Reuben, for she said, "Because the LORD has seen my affliction; surely now my husband will love me."
  3. Then she conceived again and bore a son and said, "Because the LORD has heard that I am unloved, He has therefore given me this son also." So she named him Simeon.
  4. She conceived again and bore a son and said, "Now this time my husband will become attached to me, because I have borne him three sons." Therefore he was named Levi.
  5. And she conceived again and bore a son and said, "This time I will praise the LORD." Therefore she named him Judah. Then she stopped bearing.
