  2. Hikmət və tərbiyəyə malik olmaq, Müdrik sözləri dərk etmək üçün,
  3. Salehlik, ədalət, insaf barədə İdrak tərbiyəsi almaq üçün,
  4. Cahillərə uzaqgörənlik, Gənc oğlana bilik və dərrakə vermək üçün;
  5. Qoy hikmətli qulaq asıb müdrikliyini artırsın, Dərrakəli adam sağlam məsləhət alsın.
  1. The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel:
  2. To know wisdom and instruction, To discern the sayings of understanding,
  3. To receive instruction in wise behavior, Righteousness, justice and equity;
  4. To give prudence to the naive, To the youth knowledge and discretion,
  5. A wise man will hear and increase in learning, And a man of understanding will acquire wise counsel,
 
 
  1. Bu yolla insanlar məsəl və kinayələri, Hikmətlilərin sözlərini və müəmmalarını anlasınlar.
  2. Rəbb qorxusu biliyin başlanğıcıdır, Amma səfehlər hikmət və tərbiyəyə xor baxar.
  3. Oğlum, ata tərbiyəsinə qulaq as, Ananın öyrətdiklərini kənara atma.
  4. Onlar başını gözəl çələng kimi, Boynunu boyunbağı kimi bəzər.
  5. Oğlum, qoyma səni günahkarlar azdırsın.
  1. To understand a proverb and a figure, The words of the wise and their riddles.
  2. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction.
  3. Hear, my son, your father's instruction And do not forsake your mother's teaching;
  4. Indeed, they are a graceful wreath to your head And ornaments about your neck.
  5. My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent.
 
 
  1. Desələr ki: «Gəl bizimlə pusqu qurub qan tökək, Nahaq yerə günahsızları güdək,
  2. Gəl onları ölülər diyarı kimi diri-diri udaq, Tamam qəbirə düşənlərə bənzəsinlər.
  3. Onda çoxlu qiymətli sərvət taparıq, Evlərimizi talan malı ilə doldurarıq.
  4. Bizə qoşul, Qoy kisəmiz bir olsun»,
  5. Oğlum, onlara qoşulma, Yollarına ayaq basma.

  1. For their feet run to evil And they hasten to shed blood.
  2. Indeed, it is useless to spread the baited net In the sight of any bird;
  3. But they lie in wait for their own blood; They ambush their own lives.
  4. So are the ways of everyone who gains by violence; It takes away the life of its possessors.
  5. Wisdom shouts in the street, She lifts her voice in the square;
 
 
  1. O, səsli-küylü küçələrin başında çağırır, Şəhər darvazalarında deyir:
  2. «Ey cahillər, nə vaxtadək Cəhaləti sevəcəksiniz? Nə vaxtadək rişxəndçilər rişxənddən zövq alacaq, Axmaqların bilikdən zəhləsi gedəcək?
  3. Məzəmmətimdən düzəlsəydiniz, Ruhumu üstünüzə tökərdim, Sözlərimi sizə bildirərdim.
  4. Sizi çağıranda məni rədd etdiniz, Əlimi uzadanda əhəmiyyət vermədiniz.
  5. Bütün nəsihətlərimi boş saydınız, Məzəmmətlərimi qəbul etmədiniz.
  1. At the head of the noisy streets she cries out; At the entrance of the gates in the city she utters her sayings:
  2. "How long, O naive ones, will you love being simple-minded? And scoffers delight themselves in scoffing And fools hate knowledge?
  3. "Turn to my reproof, Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you.
  4. "Because I called and you refused, I stretched out my hand and no one paid attention;
  5. And you neglected all my counsel And did not want my reproof;
 
 
  1. Ona görə də sizin üzərinizə bəla gələndə güləcəyəm, Dəhşət sizi bürüyəndə,
  2. Tufan kimi dəhşət sizə hücum çəkəndə, Sizə qasırğa kimi bəla gələndə, Dara, əziyyətə düşəndə istehza edəcəyəm.
  3. O vaxt məni çağıranlara cavab verməyəcəyəm, Səylə axtarsalar da, məni tapa bilməyəcəklər.
  4. Çünki onlar biliyə nifrət etdilər, Rəbdən qorxmaq istəmədilər,
  5. Nəsihətimi istəmədilər, Hər məzəmmətimi rədd etdilər.
  1. I will also laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your dread comes,
  2. When your dread comes like a storm And your calamity comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you.
  3. "Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently but they will not find me,
  4. Because they hated knowledge And did not choose the fear of the LORD.
  5. "They would not accept my counsel, They spurned all my reproof.
 
 
  1. Buna görə də öz yollarının bəhrəsini yeyəcəklər, Öz nəsihətləri ilə doyacaqlar.
  2. Cahili özbaşınalığı öldürəcək, Axmağı laqeydliyi məhv edəcək.
  3. Mənə qulaq asanlarsa əmin-amanlıqda yaşayacaq, Rahatlıq tapacaq, pislikdən qorxmayacaq».
  1. "So they shall eat of the fruit of their own way And be satiated with their own devices.
  2. "For the waywardness of the naive will kill them, And the complacency of fools will destroy them.
  3. "But he who listens to me shall live securely And will be at ease from the dread of evil."
