  1. Then we turned back and set out toward the desert along the route to the Red Sea, as the LORD had directed me. For a long time we made our way around the hill country of Seir.
  2. Then the LORD said to me,
  3. "You have made your way around this hill country long enough; now turn north.
  4. Give the people these orders: 'You are about to pass through the territory of your brothers the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir. They will be afraid of you, but be very careful.
  5. Do not provoke them to war, for I will not give you any of their land, not even enough to put your foot on. I have given Esau the hill country of Seir as his own.
  1. 此後、我們轉回、從紅海的路往曠野去、是照耶和華所吩咐我的．我們在西珥山繞行了許多日子。
  2. 耶和華對我說、
  3. 你們繞行這山的日子彀了、要轉向北去。
  4. 你吩咐百姓說、你們弟兄以掃的子孫、住在西珥、你們要經過他們的境界．他們必懼怕你們、所以你們要分外謹慎。
  5. 不可與他們爭戰、他們的地、連腳掌可踏之處、我都不給你們、因我已將西珥山賜給以掃為業。
 
 
  1. You are to pay them in silver for the food you eat and the water you drink.' "
  2. The LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast desert. These forty years the LORD your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything.
  3. So we went on past our brothers the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir. We turned from the Arabah road, which comes up from Elath and Ezion Geber, and traveled along the desert road of Moab.
  4. Then the LORD said to me, "Do not harass the Moabites or provoke them to war, for I will not give you any part of their land. I have given Ar to the descendants of Lot as a possession."
  5. (The Emites used to live there--a people strong and numerous, and as tall as the Anakites.
  1. 你們要用錢向他們買糧喫、也要用錢向他們買水喝。
  2. 因為耶和華你的　神、在你手裡所辦的一切事上、已賜福與你．你走這大曠野他都知道了．這四十年、耶和華你的　神常與你同在、故此你一無所缺。
  3. 於是我們離了我們弟兄以掃子孫所住的西珥、從亞拉巴的路、經過以拉他、以旬迦別、轉向摩押曠野的路去。
  4. 耶和華吩咐我說、不可擾害摩押人、也不可與他們爭戰．他們的地我不賜給你為業、因我已將亞珥賜給羅得的子孫為業。
  5. （先前、有以米人住在那裡、民數眾多、身體高大、像亞衲人一樣。
 
 
  1. Like the Anakites, they too were considered Rephaites, but the Moabites called them Emites.
  2. Horites used to live in Seir, but the descendants of Esau drove them out. They destroyed the Horites from before them and settled in their place, just as Israel did in the land the LORD gave them as their possession.)
  3. And the LORD said, "Now get up and cross the Zered Valley." So we crossed the valley.
  4. Thirty-eight years passed from the time we left Kadesh Barnea until we crossed the Zered Valley. By then, that entire generation of fighting men had perished from the camp, as the LORD had sworn to them.
  5. The LORD's hand was against them until he had completely eliminated them from the camp.
  1. 這以米人像亞衲人、也算為利乏音人、摩押人稱他們為以米人。
  2. 先前、何利人也住在西珥、但以掃的子孫將他們除滅、得了他們的地、接著居住、就如以色列在耶和華賜給他為業之地所行的一樣。）
  3. 現在起來過撒烈溪．於是我們過了撒烈溪。
  4. 自從離開加低斯巴尼亞、到過了撒烈溪的時候、共有三十八年、等那世代的兵丁、都從營中滅盡、正如耶和華向他們所起的誓。
  5. 耶和華的手也攻擊他們、將他們從營中除滅、直到滅盡。
 
 
  1. Now when the last of these fighting men among the people had died,
  2. the LORD said to me,
  3. "Today you are to pass by the region of Moab at Ar.
  4. When you come to the Ammonites, do not harass them or provoke them to war, for I will not give you possession of any land belonging to the Ammonites. I have given it as a possession to the descendants of Lot."
  5. (That too was considered a land of the Rephaites, who used to live there; but the Ammonites called them Zamzummites.
  1. 兵丁從民中都滅盡死亡以後、
  2. 耶和華吩咐我說、
  3. 你今天要從摩押的境界亞珥經過、
  4. 走近亞捫人之地、不可擾害他們、也不可與他們爭戰、亞捫人的地我不賜給你們為業、因我已將那地賜給羅得的子孫為業。
  5. （那地也算為利乏音人之地、先前、利乏音人住在那裡、亞捫人稱他們為散送冥。
 
 
  1. They were a people strong and numerous, and as tall as the Anakites. The LORD destroyed them from before the Ammonites, who drove them out and settled in their place.
  2. The LORD had done the same for the descendants of Esau, who lived in Seir, when he destroyed the Horites from before them. They drove them out and have lived in their place to this day.
  3. And as for the Avvites who lived in villages as far as Gaza, the Caphtorites coming out from Caphtor destroyed them and settled in their place.)
  4. "Set out now and cross the Arnon Gorge. See, I have given into your hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his country. Begin to take possession of it and engage him in battle.
  5. This very day I will begin to put the terror and fear of you on all the nations under heaven. They will hear reports of you and will tremble and be in anguish because of you."
  1. 那民眾多身體高大、像亞衲人一樣、但耶和華從亞捫人面前除滅他們、亞捫人就得了他們的地、接著居住．
  2. 正如耶和華從前為住西珥的以掃子孫、將何利人從他們面前除滅．他們得了何利人的地、接著居住一樣、直到今日。
  3. 從迦斐託出來的迦斐託人、將先前住在鄉村直到迦薩的亞衛人除滅、接著居住。）
  4. 你們起來前往、過亞嫩谷、我已將亞摩利人希實本王西宏、和他的地、交在你手中、你要與他爭戰得他的地為業。
  5. 從今日起我要使天下萬民、聽見你的名聲都驚恐、懼怕、且因你發顫傷慟。
 
 
  1. From the desert of Kedemoth I sent messengers to Sihon king of Heshbon offering peace and saying,
  2. "Let us pass through your country. We will stay on the main road; we will not turn aside to the right or to the left.
  3. Sell us food to eat and water to drink for their price in silver. Only let us pass through on foot-
  4. as the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir, and the Moabites, who live in Ar, did for us--until we cross the Jordan into the land the LORD our God is giving us."
  5. But Sihon king of Heshbon refused to let us pass through. For the LORD your God had made his spirit stubborn and his heart obstinate in order to give him into your hands, as he has now done.
  1. 我從基底莫的曠野、差遣使者去見希實本王西宏、用和睦的話說、
  2. 求你容我從你的地經過、只走大道、不偏左右。
  3. 你可以賣糧給我喫、也可以賣水給我喝、只要容我步行過去．
  4. 就如住西珥的以掃子孫、和住亞珥的摩押人待我一樣、等我過了約但河、好進入耶和華我們　神所賜給我們的地。
  5. 但希實本王西宏、不容我們從他那裡經過、因為耶和華你的　神使他心中剛硬、性情頑梗、為要將他交在你手中、像今日一樣。
 
 
  1. The LORD said to me, "See, I have begun to deliver Sihon and his country over to you. Now begin to conquer and possess his land."
  2. When Sihon and all his army came out to meet us in battle at Jahaz,
  3. the LORD our God delivered him over to us and we struck him down, together with his sons and his whole army.
  4. At that time we took all his towns and completely destroyed them--men, women and children. We left no survivors.
  5. But the livestock and the plunder from the towns we had captured we carried off for ourselves.
  1. 耶和華對我說、從此起首、我要將西宏和他的地、交給你、你要得他的地為業。
  2. 那時西宏和他的眾民、出來攻擊我們、在雅雜與我們交戰。
  3. 耶和華我們的　神、將他交給我們、我們就把他和他的兒子、並他的眾民都擊殺了。
  4. 我們奪了他的一切城邑、將有人煙的各城、連女人帶孩子、盡都毀滅、沒有留下一個。
  5. 惟有牲畜、和所奪的各城、並其中的財物、都取為自己的掠物。
 
 
  1. From Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Gorge, and from the town in the gorge, even as far as Gilead, not one town was too strong for us. The LORD our God gave us all of them.
  2. But in accordance with the command of the LORD our God, you did not encroach on any of the land of the Ammonites, neither the land along the course of the Jabbok nor that around the towns in the hills.
  1. 從亞嫩谷邊的亞羅珥、和谷中的城、直到基列、耶和華我們的　神都交給我們了、沒有一座城高得使我們不能攻取的。
  2. 惟有亞捫人之地、凡靠近雅博河的地、並山地的城邑、與耶和華我們　神所禁止我們去的地方、都沒有挨近。
