提摩太前書 3 [繁體:NIV]   
 
  1. 人若想要得監督的職分、就是羨慕善工．這話是可信的．
  2. 作監督的、必須無可指責、只作一個婦人的丈夫、有節制、自守、端正、樂意接待遠人、善於教導．
  3. 不因酒滋事、不打人、只要溫和、不爭競、不貪財．
  4. 好好管理自己的家、使兒女凡事端莊順服。〔或作端端莊莊的使兒女順服〕
  5. 人若不知道管理自己的家、焉能照管　神的教會呢。
  1. Here is a trustworthy saying: If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer, he desires a noble task.
  2. Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,
  3. not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.
  4. He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect.
  5. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's church?)
 
 
  1. 初入教的不可作監督、恐怕他自高自大、就落在魔鬼所受的刑罰裡。
  2. 監督也必須在教外有好名聲、恐怕被人毀謗、落在魔鬼的網羅裡。
  3. 作執事的也是如此、必須端莊、不一口兩舌、不好喝酒、不貪不義之財．
  4. 要存清潔的良心、固守真道的奧秘。
  5. 這等人也要先受試驗．若沒有可責之處、然後叫他們作執事。
  1. He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil.
  2. He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil's trap.
  3. Deacons, likewise, are to be men worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain.
  4. They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience.
  5. They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons.
 
 
  1. 女執事〔原文作女人〕也是如此、必須端莊、不說讒言、有節制、凡事忠心。
  2. 執事只要作一個婦人的丈夫、好好管理兒女和自己的家。
  3. 因為善作執事的、自己就得到美好的地步、並且在基督耶穌裡的真道上大有膽量。
  4. 我指望快到你那裡去、所以先將這些事寫給你．
  5. 倘若我耽延日久、你也可以知道在　神的家中當怎樣行．這家就是永生　神的教會、真理的柱石和根基。
  1. In the same way, their wives are to be women worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything.
  2. A deacon must be the husband of but one wife and must manage his children and his household well.
  3. Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus.
  4. Although I hope to come to you soon, I am writing you these instructions so that,
  5. if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God's household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.
 
 
  1. 大哉、敬虔的奧秘、無人不以為然．就是　神在肉身顯現、被聖靈稱義、〔或作在靈性稱義〕被天使看見、被傳於外邦、被世人信服、被接在榮耀裡。
  1. Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in a body, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.
