  1. Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ for the faith of God's elect and the knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness--
  2. a faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time,
  3. and at his appointed season he brought his word to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior,
  4. To Titus, my true son in our common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.
  5. The reason I left you in Crete was that you might straighten out what was left unfinished and appoint elders in every town, as I directed you.
  1.  神的僕人、耶穌基督的使徒保羅、憑著 神選民的信心、與敬虔真理的知識、
  2. 盼望那無謊言的 神、在萬古之先所應許的永生、
  3. 到了日期、藉著傳揚的工夫、把他的道顯明了.這傳揚的責任、是按著 神我們救主的命令交託了我。
  4. 現在寫信給提多、就是照著我們共信之道作我真兒子的.願恩惠平安、從父 神和我們的救主基督耶穌歸與你。
  5. 我從前留你在革哩底、是要你將那沒有辦完的事都辦整齊了、又照我所吩咐你的、在各城設立長老.
 
 
  1. An elder must be blameless, the husband of but one wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient.
  2. Since an overseer is entrusted with God's work, he must be blameless--not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain.
  3. Rather he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined.
  4. He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.
  5. For there are many rebellious people, mere talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision group.
  1. 若有無可指責的人、只作一個婦人的丈夫、兒女也是信主的、沒有人告他們是放蕩不服約束的、就可以設立。
  2. 監督既是 神的管家、必須無可指責、不任性、不暴躁、不因酒滋事、不打人、不貪無義之財、
  3. 樂意接待遠人、好善、莊重、公平、聖潔、自持.
  4. 堅守所教真實的道理、就能將純正的教訓勸化人.又能把爭辯的人駁倒了。
  5. 因為有許多人不服約束、說虛空話、欺哄人.那奉割禮的、更是這樣。
 
 
  1. They must be silenced, because they are ruining whole households by teaching things they ought not to teach--and that for the sake of dishonest gain.
  2. Even one of their own prophets has said, "Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons."
  3. This testimony is true. Therefore, rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound in the faith
  4. and will pay no attention to Jewish myths or to the commands of those who reject the truth.
  5. To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.
  1. 這些人的口總要堵住.他們因貪不義之財、將不該教導的教導人、敗壞人的全家。
  2. 有革哩底人中的一個本地先知說、『革埋底人常說謊話、乃是惡獸、又饞又懶.』
  3. 這個見證是真的。所以你要嚴嚴的責備他們、使他們在真道上純全無疵.
  4. 不聽猶太人荒渺的言語、和離棄真道之人的誡命。
  5. 在潔淨的人、凡物都潔淨.在污穢不信的人、甚麼都不潔淨.連心地和天良、也都污穢了。
 
 
  1. They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.
  1. 他們說是認識 神、行事卻和他相背.本是可憎惡的、是悖逆的、在各樣的善事上是可廢棄的。
