Titus 2 [NIV:NASB]

  1. You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine.
  2. Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance.
  3. Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good.
  4. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children,
  5. to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.
  1. But as for you, speak the things which are fitting for sound doctrine.
  2. Older men are to be temperate, dignified, sensible, sound in faith, in love, in perseverance.
  3. Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good,
  4. so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,
  5. to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.

  1. Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled.
  2. In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness
  3. and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.
  4. Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them,
  5. and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive.
  1. Likewise urge the young men to be sensible;
  2. in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified,
  3. sound in speech which is beyond reproach, so that the opponent will be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us.
  4. Urge bondslaves to be subject to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not argumentative,
  5. not pilfering, but showing all good faith so that they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect.

  1. For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.
  2. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,
  3. while we wait for the blessed hope--the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,
  4. who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
  5. These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.
  1. For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,
  2. instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age,
  3. looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,
  4. who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.
  5. These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority Let no one disregard you.
