  1. Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed,
  2. to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men.
  3. For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.
  4. But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared,
  5. He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,
  1. Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good,
  2. to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men.
  3. At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.
  4. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared,
  5. he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,
 
 
  1. whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
  2. so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
  3. This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitable for men.
  4. But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and strife and disputes about the Law, for they are unprofitable and worthless.
  5. Reject a factious man after a first and second warning,
  1. whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior,
  2. so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.
  3. This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.
  4. But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless.
  5. Warn a divisive person once, and then warn him a second time. After that, have nothing to do with him.
 
 
  1. knowing that such a man is perverted and is sinning, being self-condemned.
  2. When I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, make every effort to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there.
  3. Diligently help Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their way so that nothing is lacking for them.
  4. Our people must also learn to engage in good deeds to meet pressing needs, so that they will not be unfruitful.
  5. All who are with me greet you Greet those who love us in the faith Grace be with you all.
  1. You may be sure that such a man is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned.
  2. As soon as I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis, because I have decided to winter there.
  3. Do everything you can to help Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their way and see that they have everything they need.
  4. Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order that they may provide for daily necessities and not live unproductive lives.
  5. Everyone with me sends you greetings. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all.
