- 說、我的 神阿、我抱愧蒙羞、不敢向我 神仰面、因為我們的罪孽滅頂、我們的罪惡滔天。
- 從我們列祖直到今日、我們的罪惡甚重、因我們的罪孽、我們和君王、祭司、都交在外邦列王的手中、殺害、擄掠、搶奪、臉上蒙羞、正如今日的光景。
- 現在耶和華我們的 神暫且施恩與我們、給我們留些逃脫的人、使我們安穩如釘子釘在他的聖所、我們的 神好光照我們的眼目、使我們在受轄制之中稍微復興。
- 我們是奴僕、然而在受轄制之中、我們的 神仍沒有丟棄我們、在波斯王眼前向我們施恩、叫我們復興、能重建我們 神的殿、修其毀壞之處、使我們在猶大和耶路撒冷有牆垣。
- 我們的 神阿、既是如此、我們還有甚麼話可說呢.因為我們已經離棄你的命令、

- And said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up unto the heavens.
- Since the days of our fathers have we been in a great trespass unto this day; and for our iniquities have we, our kings, and our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to confusion of face, as it is this day.
- And now for a little space grace hath been shewed from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage.
- For we were bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.
- And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? for we have forsaken thy commandments,
