Psalms 69 [NASB:NIV]

  1. Save me, O God, For the waters have threatened my life.
  2. I have sunk in deep mire, and there is no foothold; I have come into deep waters, and a flood overflows me.
  3. I am weary with my crying; my throat is parched; My eyes fail while I wait for my God.
  4. Those who hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head; Those who would destroy me are powerful, being wrongfully my enemies; What I did not steal, I then have to restore.
  5. O God, it is You who knows my folly, And my wrongs are not hidden from You.
  1. Save me, O God, for the waters have come up to my neck.
  2. I sink in the miry depths, where there is no foothold. I have come into the deep waters; the floods engulf me.
  3. I am worn out calling for help; my throat is parched. My eyes fail, looking for my God.
  4. Those who hate me without reason outnumber the hairs of my head; many are my enemies without cause, those who seek to destroy me. I am forced to restore what I did not steal.
  5. You know my folly, O God; my guilt is not hidden from you.

  1. May those who wait for You not be ashamed through me, O Lord GOD of hosts; May those who seek You not be dishonored through me, O God of Israel,
  2. Because for Your sake I have borne reproach; Dishonor has covered my face.
  3. I have become estranged from my brothers And an alien to my mother's sons.
  4. For zeal for Your house has consumed me, And the reproaches of those who reproach You have fallen on me.
  5. When I wept in my soul with fasting, It became my reproach.
  1. May those who hope in you not be disgraced because of me, O Lord, the LORD Almighty; may those who seek you not be put to shame because of me, O God of Israel.
  2. For I endure scorn for your sake, and shame covers my face.
  3. I am a stranger to my brothers, an alien to my own mother's sons;
  4. for zeal for your house consumes me, and the insults of those who insult you fall on me.
  5. When I weep and fast, I must endure scorn;

  1. When I made sackcloth my clothing, I became a byword to them.
  2. Those who sit in the gate talk about me, And I am the song of the drunkards.
  3. But as for me, my prayer is to You, O LORD, at an acceptable time; O God, in the greatness of Your lovingkindness, Answer me with Your saving truth.
  4. Deliver me from the mire and do not let me sink; May I be delivered from my foes and from the deep waters.
  5. May the flood of water not overflow me Nor the deep swallow me up, Nor the pit shut its mouth on me.
  1. when I put on sackcloth, people make sport of me.
  2. Those who sit at the gate mock me, and I am the song of the drunkards.
  3. But I pray to you, O LORD, in the time of your favor; in your great love, O God, answer me with your sure salvation.
  4. Rescue me from the mire, do not let me sink; deliver me from those who hate me, from the deep waters.
  5. Do not let the floodwaters engulf me or the depths swallow me up or the pit close its mouth over me.

  1. Answer me, O LORD, for Your lovingkindness is good; According to the greatness of Your compassion, turn to me,
  2. And do not hide Your face from Your servant, For I am in distress; answer me quickly.
  3. Oh draw near to my soul and redeem it; Ransom me because of my enemies!
  4. You know my reproach and my shame and my dishonor; All my adversaries are before You.
  5. Reproach has broken my heart and I am so sick And I looked for sympathy, but there was none, And for comforters, but I found none.
  1. Answer me, O LORD, out of the goodness of your love; in your great mercy turn to me.
  2. Do not hide your face from your servant; answer me quickly, for I am in trouble.
  3. Come near and rescue me; redeem me because of my foes.
  4. You know how I am scorned, disgraced and shamed; all my enemies are before you.
  5. Scorn has broken my heart and has left me helpless; I looked for sympathy, but there was none, for comforters, but I found none.

  1. They also gave me gall for my food And for my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
  2. May their table before them become a snare; And when they are in peace, may it become a trap.
  3. May their eyes grow dim so that they cannot see, And make their loins shake continually.
  4. Pour out Your indignation on them, And may Your burning anger overtake them.
  5. May their camp be desolate; May none dwell in their tents.
  1. They put gall in my food and gave me vinegar for my thirst.
  2. May the table set before them become a snare; may it become retribution and a trap.
  3. May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever.
  4. Pour out your wrath on them; let your fierce anger overtake them.
  5. May their place be deserted; let there be no one to dwell in their tents.

  1. For they have persecuted him whom You Yourself have smitten, And they tell of the pain of those whom You have wounded.
  2. Add iniquity to their iniquity, And may they not come into Your righteousness.
  3. May they be blotted out of the book of life And may they not be recorded with the righteous.
  4. But I am afflicted and in pain; May Your salvation, O God, set me securely on high.
  5. I will praise the name of God with song And magnify Him with thanksgiving.
  1. For they persecute those you wound and talk about the pain of those you hurt.
  2. Charge them with crime upon crime; do not let them share in your salvation.
  3. May they be blotted out of the book of life and not be listed with the righteous.
  4. I am in pain and distress; may your salvation, O God, protect me.
  5. I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving.

  1. And it will please the LORD better than an ox Or a young bull with horns and hoofs.
  2. The humble have seen it and are glad; You who seek God, let your heart revive.
  3. For the LORD hears the needy And does not despise His who are prisoners.
  4. Let heaven and earth praise Him, The seas and everything that moves in them.
  5. For God will save Zion and build the cities of Judah, That they may dwell there and possess it.
  1. This will please the LORD more than an ox, more than a bull with its horns and hoofs.
  2. The poor will see and be glad-- you who seek God, may your hearts live!
  3. The LORD hears the needy and does not despise his captive people.
  4. Let heaven and earth praise him, the seas and all that move in them,
  5. for God will save Zion and rebuild the cities of Judah. Then people will settle there and possess it;

  1. The descendants of His servants will inherit it, And those who love His name will dwell in it.
  1. the children of his servants will inherit it, and those who love his name will dwell there.
