Psalms 72 [NIV:NASB]

  1. Endow the king with your justice, O God, the royal son with your righteousness.
  2. He will judge your people in righteousness, your afflicted ones with justice.
  3. The mountains will bring prosperity to the people, the hills the fruit of righteousness.
  4. He will defend the afflicted among the people and save the children of the needy; he will crush the oppressor.
  5. He will endure as long as the sun, as long as the moon, through all generations.
  1. Give the king Your judgments, O God, And Your righteousness to the king's son.
  2. May he judge Your people with righteousness And Your afflicted with justice.
  3. Let the mountains bring peace to the people, And the hills, in righteousness.
  4. May he vindicate the afflicted of the people, Save the children of the needy And crush the oppressor.
  5. Let them fear You while the sun endures, And as long as the moon, throughout all generations.

  1. He will be like rain falling on a mown field, like showers watering the earth.
  2. In his days the righteous will flourish; prosperity will abound till the moon is no more.
  3. He will rule from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth.
  4. The desert tribes will bow before him and his enemies will lick the dust.
  5. The kings of Tarshish and of distant shores will bring tribute to him; the kings of Sheba and Seba will present him gifts.
  1. May he come down like rain upon the mown grass, Like showers that water the earth.
  2. In his days may the righteous flourish, And abundance of peace till the moon is no more.
  3. May he also rule from sea to sea And from the River to the ends of the earth.
  4. Let the nomads of the desert bow before him, And his enemies lick the dust.
  5. Let the kings of Tarshish and of the islands bring presents; The kings of Sheba and Seba offer gifts.

  1. All kings will bow down to him and all nations will serve him.
  2. For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help.
  3. He will take pity on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death.
  4. He will rescue them from oppression and violence, for precious is their blood in his sight.
  5. Long may he live! May gold from Sheba be given him. May people ever pray for him and bless him all day long.
  1. And let all kings bow down before him, All nations serve him.
  2. For he will deliver the needy when he cries for help, The afflicted also, and him who has no helper.
  3. He will have compassion on the poor and needy, And the lives of the needy he will save.
  4. He will rescue their life from oppression and violence, And their blood will be precious in his sight;
  5. So may he live, and may the gold of Sheba be given to him; And let them pray for him continually; Let them bless him all day long.

  1. Let grain abound throughout the land; on the tops of the hills may it sway. Let its fruit flourish like Lebanon; let it thrive like the grass of the field.
  2. May his name endure forever; may it continue as long as the sun. All nations will be blessed through him, and they will call him blessed.
  3. Praise be to the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds.
  4. Praise be to his glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen and Amen.
  5. This concludes the prayers of David son of Jesse.
  1. May there be abundance of grain in the earth on top of the mountains; Its fruit will wave like the cedars of Lebanon; And may those from the city flourish like vegetation of the earth.
  2. May his name endure forever; May his name increase as long as the sun shines; And let men bless themselves by him; Let all nations call him blessed.
  3. Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, Who alone works wonders.
  4. And blessed be His glorious name forever; And may the whole earth be filled with His glory Amen, and Amen.
