Psalms 132 [NASB:NIV]

  1. Remember, O LORD, on David's behalf, All his affliction;
  2. How he swore to the LORD And vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob,
  3. "Surely I will not enter my house, Nor lie on my bed;
  4. I will not give sleep to my eyes Or slumber to my eyelids,
  5. Until I find a place for the LORD, A dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob."
  1. O LORD, remember David and all the hardships he endured.
  2. He swore an oath to the LORD and made a vow to the Mighty One of Jacob:
  3. "I will not enter my house or go to my bed-
  4. I will allow no sleep to my eyes, no slumber to my eyelids,
  5. till I find a place for the LORD, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob."

  1. Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah, We found it in the field of Jaar.
  2. Let us go into His dwelling place; Let us worship at His footstool.
  3. Arise, O LORD, to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your strength.
  4. Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness, And let Your godly ones sing for joy.
  5. For the sake of David Your servant, Do not turn away the face of Your anointed.
  1. We heard it in Ephrathah, we came upon it in the fields of Jaar :
  2. "Let us go to his dwelling place; let us worship at his footstool-
  3. arise, O LORD, and come to your resting place, you and the ark of your might.
  4. May your priests be clothed with righteousness; may your saints sing for joy."
  5. For the sake of David your servant, do not reject your anointed one.

  1. The LORD has sworn to David A truth from which He will not turn back: "Of the fruit of your body I will set upon your throne.
  2. "If your sons will keep My covenant And My testimony which I will teach them, Their sons also shall sit upon your throne forever."
  3. For the LORD has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His habitation.
  4. "This is My resting place forever; Here I will dwell, for I have desired it.
  5. "I will abundantly bless her provision; I will satisfy her needy with bread.
  1. The LORD swore an oath to David, a sure oath that he will not revoke: "One of your own descendants I will place on your throne-
  2. if your sons keep my covenant and the statutes I teach them, then their sons will sit on your throne for ever and ever."
  3. For the LORD has chosen Zion, he has desired it for his dwelling:
  4. "This is my resting place for ever and ever; here I will sit enthroned, for I have desired it-
  5. I will bless her with abundant provisions; her poor will I satisfy with food.

  1. "Her priests also I will clothe with salvation, And her godly ones will sing aloud for joy.
  2. "There I will cause the horn of David to spring forth; I have prepared a lamp for Mine anointed.
  3. "His enemies I will clothe with shame, But upon himself his crown shall shine."
  1. I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints will ever sing for joy.
  2. "Here I will make a horn grow for David and set up a lamp for my anointed one.
  3. I will clothe his enemies with shame, but the crown on his head will be resplendent."
