Proverbs 14 [NASB:NIV]   
 
  1. The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish tears it down with her own hands.
  2. He who walks in his uprightness fears the LORD, But he who is devious in his ways despises Him.
  3. In the mouth of the foolish is a rod for his back, But the lips of the wise will protect them.
  4. Where no oxen are, the manger is clean, But much revenue comes by the strength of the ox.
  5. A trustworthy witness will not lie, But a false witness utters lies.
  1. The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.
  2. He whose walk is upright fears the LORD, but he whose ways are devious despises him.
  3. A fool's talk brings a rod to his back, but the lips of the wise protect them.
  4. Where there are no oxen, the manger is empty, but from the strength of an ox comes an abundant harvest.
  5. A truthful witness does not deceive, but a false witness pours out lies.
 
 
  1. A scoffer seeks wisdom and finds none, But knowledge is easy to one who has understanding.
  2. Leave the presence of a fool, Or you will not discern words of knowledge.
  3. The wisdom of the sensible is to understand his way, But the foolishness of fools is deceit.
  4. Fools mock at sin, But among the upright there is good will.
  5. The heart knows its own bitterness, And a stranger does not share its joy.
  1. The mocker seeks wisdom and finds none, but knowledge comes easily to the discerning.
  2. Stay away from a foolish man, for you will not find knowledge on his lips.
  3. The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways, but the folly of fools is deception.
  4. Fools mock at making amends for sin, but goodwill is found among the upright.
  5. Each heart knows its own bitterness, and no one else can share its joy.
 
 
  1. The house of the wicked will be destroyed, But the tent of the upright will flourish.
  2. There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.
  3. Even in laughter the heart may be in pain, And the end of joy may be grief.
  4. The backslider in heart will have his fill of his own ways, But a good man will be satisfied with his.
  5. The naive believes everything, But the sensible man considers his steps.
  1. The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish.
  2. There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.
  3. Even in laughter the heart may ache, and joy may end in grief.
  4. The faithless will be fully repaid for their ways, and the good man rewarded for his.
  5. A simple man believes anything, but a prudent man gives thought to his steps.
 
 
  1. A wise man is cautious and turns away from evil, But a fool is arrogant and careless.
  2. A quick-tempered man acts foolishly, And a man of evil devices is hated.
  3. The naive inherit foolishness, But the sensible are crowned with knowledge.
  4. The evil will bow down before the good, And the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
  5. The poor is hated even by his neighbor, But those who love the rich are many.
  1. A wise man fears the LORD and shuns evil, but a fool is hotheaded and reckless.
  2. A quick-tempered man does foolish things, and a crafty man is hated.
  3. The simple inherit folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
  4. Evil men will bow down in the presence of the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
  5. The poor are shunned even by their neighbors, but the rich have many friends.
 
 
  1. He who despises his neighbor sins, But happy is he who is gracious to the poor.
  2. Will they not go astray who devise evil? But kindness and truth will be to those who devise good.
  3. In all labor there is profit, But mere talk leads only to poverty.
  4. The crown of the wise is their riches, But the folly of fools is foolishness.
  5. A truthful witness saves lives, But he who utters lies is treacherous.
  1. He who despises his neighbor sins, but blessed is he who is kind to the needy.
  2. Do not those who plot evil go astray? But those who plan what is good find love and faithfulness.
  3. All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.
  4. The wealth of the wise is their crown, but the folly of fools yields folly.
  5. A truthful witness saves lives, but a false witness is deceitful.
 
 
  1. In the fear of the LORD there is strong confidence, And his children will have refuge.
  2. The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, That one may avoid the snares of death.
  3. In a multitude of people is a king's glory, But in the dearth of people is a prince's ruin.
  4. He who is slow to anger has great understanding, But he who is quick-tempered exalts folly.
  5. A tranquil heart is life to the body, But passion is rottenness to the bones.
  1. He who fears the LORD has a secure fortress, and for his children it will be a refuge.
  2. The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, turning a man from the snares of death.
  3. A large population is a king's glory, but without subjects a prince is ruined.
  4. A patient man has great understanding, but a quick-tempered man displays folly.
  5. A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.
 
 
  1. He who oppresses the poor taunts his Maker, But he who is gracious to the needy honors Him.
  2. The wicked is thrust down by his wrongdoing, But the righteous has a refuge when he dies.
  3. Wisdom rests in the heart of one who has understanding, But in the hearts of fools it is made known.
  4. Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a disgrace to any people.
  5. The king's favor is toward a servant who acts wisely, But his anger is toward him who acts shamefully.
  1. He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.
  2. When calamity comes, the wicked are brought down, but even in death the righteous have a refuge.
  3. Wisdom reposes in the heart of the discerning and even among fools she lets herself be known.
  4. Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.
  5. A king delights in a wise servant, but a shameful servant incurs his wrath.
