Romans 14 [NASB:NIV]

  1. Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions.
  2. One person has faith that he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats vegetables only.
  3. The one who eats is not to regard with contempt the one who does not eat, and the one who does not eat is not to judge the one who eats, for God has accepted him.
  4. Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
  5. One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind.
  1. Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters.
  2. One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables.
  3. The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him.
  4. Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
  5. One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.

  1. He who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, does so for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who eats not, for the Lord he does not eat, and gives thanks to God.
  2. For not one of us lives for himself, and not one dies for himself;
  3. for if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord's.
  4. For to this end Christ died and lived again, that He might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.
  5. But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.
  1. He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord. He who eats meat, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.
  2. For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone.
  3. If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
  4. For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.
  5. You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat.

  1. For it is written, "AS I LIVE, SAYS THE LORD, EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW TO ME, AND EVERY TONGUE SHALL GIVE PRAISE TO GOD."
  2. So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God.
  3. Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this--not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother's way.
  4. I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself; but to him who thinks anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
  5. For if because of food your brother is hurt, you are no longer walking according to love Do not destroy with your food him for whom Christ died.
  1. It is written: " 'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.' "
  2. So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.
  3. Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way.
  4. As one who is in the Lord Jesus, I am fully convinced that no food is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean.
  5. If your brother is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy your brother for whom Christ died.

  1. Therefore do not let what is for you a good thing be spoken of as evil;
  2. for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
  3. For he who in this way serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men.
  4. So then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another.
  5. Do not tear down the work of God for the sake of food All things indeed are clean, but they are evil for the man who eats and gives offense.
  1. Do not allow what you consider good to be spoken of as evil.
  2. For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,
  3. because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men.
  4. Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.
  5. Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a man to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble.

  1. It is good not to eat meat or to drink wine, or to do anything by which your brother stumbles.
  2. The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.
  3. But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and whatever is not from faith is sin.
  1. It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother to fall.
  2. So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the man who does not condemn himself by what he approves.
  3. But the man who has doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin.
