  1. In the spring, at the time when kings go off to war, David sent Joab out with the king's men and the whole Israelite army. They destroyed the Ammonites and besieged Rabbah. But David remained in Jerusalem.
  2. One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing. The woman was very beautiful,
  3. and David sent someone to find out about her. The man said, "Isn't this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam and the wife of Uriah the Hittite?"
  4. Then David sent messengers to get her. She came to him, and he slept with her. (She had purified herself from her uncleanness.) Then she went back home.
  5. The woman conceived and sent word to David, saying, "I am pregnant."
  1. 过了一年,到列王出战的时候,大卫又差派约押,率领臣仆和以色列众人出战。他们就打败亚扪人,围攻拉巴。大卫仍住在耶路撒冷。
  2. 一日,太阳平西,大卫从床上起来,在王宫的平顶上游行,看见一个妇人沭浴,容貌甚美,
  3. 大卫就差人打听那妇人是谁。有人说,她是以连的女儿,赫人乌利亚的妻拔示巴。
  4. 大卫差人去,将妇人接来。那时她的月经才得洁净。她来了,大卫与她同房,她就回家去了。
  5. 于是她怀了孕,打发人去告诉大卫说,我怀了孕。
 
 
  1. So David sent this word to Joab: "Send me Uriah the Hittite." And Joab sent him to David.
  2. When Uriah came to him, David asked him how Joab was, how the soldiers were and how the war was going.
  3. Then David said to Uriah, "Go down to your house and wash your feet." So Uriah left the palace, and a gift from the king was sent after him.
  4. But Uriah slept at the entrance to the palace with all his master's servants and did not go down to his house.
  5. When David was told, "Uriah did not go home," he asked him, "Haven't you just come from a distance? Why didn't you go home?"
  1. 大卫差人到约押那里,说,你打发赫人乌利亚到我这里来。约押就打发乌利亚去见大卫。
  2. 乌利亚来了,大卫问约押好,也问兵好,又问争战的事怎样。
  3. 大卫对乌利亚说,你回家去,洗洗脚吧。乌利亚出了王宫,随后王送他一分食物。
  4. 乌利亚却和他主人的仆人一同睡在宫门外,没有回家去。
  5. 有人告诉大卫说,乌利亚没有回家去。大卫就问乌利亚说,你从远路上来,为什么不回家去呢。
 
 
  1. Uriah said to David, "The ark and Israel and Judah are staying in tents, and my master Joab and my lord's men are camped in the open fields. How could I go to my house to eat and drink and lie with my wife? As surely as you live, I will not do such a thing!"
  2. Then David said to him, "Stay here one more day, and tomorrow I will send you back." So Uriah remained in Jerusalem that day and the next.
  3. At David's invitation, he ate and drank with him, and David made him drunk. But in the evening Uriah went out to sleep on his mat among his master's servants; he did not go home.
  4. In the morning David wrote a letter to Joab and sent it with Uriah.
  5. In it he wrote, "Put Uriah in the front line where the fighting is fiercest. Then withdraw from him so he will be struck down and die."
  1. 乌利亚对大卫说,约柜和以色列与犹大兵都住在棚里,我主约押和我主(或作王)的仆人都在田野安营,我岂可回家吃喝,与妻子同寝呢。我敢在王面前起誓(原文作我指着王和王的性命起誓)。
  2. 大卫吩咐乌利亚说,你今日仍住在这里,明日我打发你去。于是乌利亚那日和次日住在耶路撒冷。
  3. 大卫召了乌利亚来,叫他在自己面前吃喝,使他喝醉。到了晚上,乌利亚出去与他主的仆人一同住宿,还没有回到家里去。
  4. 次日早晨,大卫写信与约押,交乌利亚随手带去。
  5. 信内写着说,要派乌利亚前进,到阵势极险之处,你们便退后,使他被杀。
 
 
  1. So while Joab had the city under siege, he put Uriah at a place where he knew the strongest defenders were.
  2. When the men of the city came out and fought against Joab, some of the men in David's army fell; moreover, Uriah the Hittite died.
  3. Joab sent David a full account of the battle.
  4. He instructed the messenger: "When you have finished giving the king this account of the battle,
  5. the king's anger may flare up, and he may ask you, 'Why did you get so close to the city to fight? Didn't you know they would shoot arrows from the wall?
  1. 约押围城的时候,知道敌人那里有勇士,便将乌利亚派在那里。
  2. 城里的人出来和约押打仗。大卫的仆人中有几个被杀的,赫人乌利亚也死了。
  3. 于是,约押差人去将争战的一切事告诉大卫,
  4. 又嘱咐使者说,你把争战的一切事对王说完了,
  5. 王若发怒,问你说,你们打仗为什么挨近城墙呢。岂不知敌人必从城上射箭麽。
 
 
  1. Who killed Abimelech son of Jerub-Besheth ? Didn't a woman throw an upper millstone on him from the wall, so that he died in Thebez? Why did you get so close to the wall?' If he asks you this, then say to him, 'Also, your servant Uriah the Hittite is dead.' "
  2. The messenger set out, and when he arrived he told David everything Joab had sent him to say.
  3. The messenger said to David, "The men overpowered us and came out against us in the open, but we drove them back to the entrance to the city gate.
  4. Then the archers shot arrows at your servants from the wall, and some of the king's men died. Moreover, your servant Uriah the Hittite is dead."
  5. David told the messenger, "Say this to Joab: 'Don't let this upset you; the sword devours one as well as another. Press the attack against the city and destroy it.' Say this to encourage Joab."
  1. 从前打死耶路比设(就是耶路巴力,见士师记九章一节)儿子亚比米勒的是谁呢。岂不是一个妇人从城上抛下一块上磨石来,打在他身上,他就死在提备斯麽。你们为什么挨近城墙呢?你就说,王的仆人,赫人乌利亚也死了。
  2. 使者起身,来见大卫,照着约押所吩咐他的话奏告大卫。
  3. 使者对大卫说,敌人强过我们,出到郊野与我们打仗,我们追杀他们,直到城门口。
  4. 射箭的从城上射王的仆人,射死几个,赫人乌利亚也死了。
  5. 王向使者说,你告诉约押说,不要因这事愁闷,刀剑或吞灭这人或吞灭那人,没有一定的。你只管竭力攻城,将城倾覆。可以用这话勉励约押。
 
 
  1. When Uriah's wife heard that her husband was dead, she mourned for him.
  2. After the time of mourning was over, David had her brought to his house, and she became his wife and bore him a son. But the thing David had done displeased the LORD.
  1. 乌利亚的妻听见丈夫乌利亚死了,就为他哀哭。
  2. 哀哭的日子过了,大卫差人将她接到宫里,她就作了大卫的妻,给大卫生了一个儿子。但大卫所行的这事,耶和华甚不喜悦。
