  1. 亚伯兰的妻子撒莱不给他生儿女。撒莱有一个使女，名叫夏甲，是埃及人。
  2. 撒莱对亚伯兰说，耶和华使我不能生育。求你和我的使女同房，或者我可以因她得孩子（得孩子原文作被建立）。亚伯兰听从了撒莱的话。
  3. 于是亚伯兰的妻子撒莱将使女埃及人夏甲给了丈夫为妾。那时亚伯兰在迦南已经住了十年。
  4. 亚伯兰与夏甲同房，夏甲就怀了孕。她见自己有孕，就小看她的主母。
  5. 撒莱对亚伯兰说，我因你受屈。我将我的使女放在你怀中，她见自己有了孕，就小看我。愿耶和华在你我中间判断。
  1. Now Sarai, Abram's wife, had borne him no children. But she had an Egyptian maidservant named Hagar;
  2. so she said to Abram, "The LORD has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my maidservant; perhaps I can build a family through her." Abram agreed to what Sarai said.
  3. So after Abram had been living in Canaan ten years, Sarai his wife took her Egyptian maidservant Hagar and gave her to her husband to be his wife.
  4. He slept with Hagar, and she conceived. When she knew she was pregnant, she began to despise her mistress.
  5. Then Sarai said to Abram, "You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. I put my servant in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me. May the LORD judge between you and me."
 
 
  1. 亚伯兰对撒莱说，使女在你手下，你可以随意待她。撒莱苦待她，她就从撒莱面前逃走了。
  2. 耶和华的使者在旷野书珥路上的水泉旁遇见她，
  3. 对她说，撒莱的使女夏甲，你从哪里来，要往哪里去。夏甲说，我从我的主母撒莱面前逃出来。
  4. 耶和华的使者对她说，你回到你主母那里，服在她手下。
  5. 又说，我必使你的后裔极其繁多，甚至不可胜数。
  1. "Your servant is in your hands," Abram said. "Do with her whatever you think best." Then Sarai mistreated Hagar; so she fled from her.
  2. The angel of the LORD found Hagar near a spring in the desert; it was the spring that is beside the road to Shur.
  3. And he said, "Hagar, servant of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?" "I'm running away from my mistress Sarai," she answered.
  4. Then the angel of the LORD told her, "Go back to your mistress and submit to her."
  5. The angel added, "I will so increase your descendants that they will be too numerous to count."
 
 
  1. 并说，你如今怀孕要生一个儿子，可以给他起名叫以实玛利，因为耶和华听见了你的苦情。（以实玛利就是神听见的意思）
  2. 他为人必像野驴。他的手要攻打人，人的手也要攻打他。他必住在众弟兄的东边。
  3. 夏甲就称那对她说话的耶和华为『看顾人的神』。因而说，在这里我也看见那看顾我的麽。
  4. 所以这井名叫庇耳拉海莱。这井正在加低斯和巴列中间。
  5. 后来夏甲给亚伯兰生了一个儿子。亚伯兰给他起名叫以实玛利。
  1. The angel of the LORD also said to her: "You are now with child and you will have a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the LORD has heard of your misery.
  2. He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone's hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers."
  3. She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: "You are the God who sees me," for she said, "I have now seen the One who sees me."
  4. That is why the well was called Beer Lahai Roi ; it is still there, between Kadesh and Bered.
  5. So Hagar bore Abram a son, and Abram gave the name Ishmael to the son she had borne.
 
 
  1. 夏甲给亚伯兰生以实玛利的时候，亚伯兰年八十六岁。
  1. Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore him Ishmael.
