- 하느님의 아들 예수 그리스도에 관한 복음의 시작.
- 예언자 이사야의 글에, "이제 내가 일꾼을 너보다 먼저 보내니 그가 네 갈 길을 미리 닦아놓으리라." 하였고,
- 또 "광야에서 외치는 이의 소리가 들린다. '너희는 주의 길을 닦고 그의 길을 고르게 하여라.'" 하였는데, 기록되어 있는 대로
- 세례자 요한이 광야에 나타나 "회개하고 세례를 받아라. 그러면 죄를 용서받을 것이다." 하고 선포하였다.
- 그 때 온 유다 지방과 예루살렘에 사는 모든 사람이 그에게 와서 죄를 고백하며 요르단 강에서 세례를 받았다.

- The beginning of the gospel about Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
- It is written in Isaiah the prophet: "I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way"--
- "a voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.' "
- And so John came, baptizing in the desert region and preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.
- The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.

- 요한은 낙타털 옷을 입고 허리에 가죽띠를 두르고 메뚜기와 들꿀을 먹으며 살았다.
- 그는 사람들에게 이렇게 외쳤다. "나보다 더 훌륭한 분이 내 뒤에 오신다. 나는 몸을 굽혀 그의 신발끈을 풀어드릴 만한 자격조차 없는 사람이다.
- 나는 너희에게 물로 세례를 베풀었지만 그분은 성령으로 세례를 베푸실 것이다."
- 그 무렵에 예수께서는 갈릴래아 나자렛에서 요르단 강으로 요한을 찾아와 세례를 받으셨다.
- 그리고 물에서 올라오실 때 하늘이 갈라지며 성령이 비둘기 모양으로 당신에게 내려오시는 것을 보셨다.

- John wore clothing made of camel's hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey.
- And this was his message: "After me will come one more powerful than I, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie.
- I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."
- At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
- As Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove.

- 그 때 하늘에서 "너는 내 사랑하는 아들, 내 마음에 드는 아들이다." 하는 소리가 들려왔다.
- 그 뒤에 곧 성령이 예수를 광야로 내보내셨다.
- 예수께서는 사십 일 동안 그 곳에 계시면서 사탄에게 유혹을 받으셨다. 그 동안 예수께서는 들짐승들과 함께 지내셨는데 천사들이 그분의 시중을 들었다.
- 요한이 잡힌 뒤에 예수께서 갈릴래아에 오셔서 하느님의 복음을 전파하시며
- "때가 다 되어 하느님의 나라가 다가왔다. 회개하고 이 복음을 믿어라." 하셨다.

- And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased."
- At once the Spirit sent him out into the desert,
- and he was in the desert forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and angels attended him.
- After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God.
- "The time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!"

- 예수께서 갈릴래아 호숫가를 지나가시다가 호수에서 그물을 던지고 있는 어부 시몬과 그의 동생 안드레아를 보시고
- "나를 따라오너라. 내가 너희를 사람 낚는 어부가 되게 하겠다." 하고 말씀하셨다.
- 그들은 곧 그물을 버리고 예수를 따라갔다.
- 예수께서 조금 더 가시다가 제베대오의 아들 야고보와 그의 동생 요한이 배에서 그물을 손질하고 있는 것을 보시고
- 부르시자 그들은 아버지 제베대오와 삯꾼들을 배에 남겨둔 채 예수를 따라나섰다.

- As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.
- "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."
- At once they left their nets and followed him.
- When he had gone a little farther, he saw James son of Zebedee and his brother John in a boat, preparing their nets.
- Without delay he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him.

- 예수의 일행은 가파르나움으로 갔다. 안식일에 예수께서는 회당에 들어가 가르치셨는데
- 사람들은 그 가르침을 듣고 놀랐다. 그 가르치시는 것이 율법학자들과는 달리 권위가 있었기 때문이다.
- 그 때 더러운 악령 들린 사람 하나가 회당에 있다가 큰소리로
- "나자렛 예수님, 어찌하여 우리를 간섭하시려는 것입니까? 우리를 없애려고 오셨습니까? 나는 당신이 누구신지 압니다. 당신은 하느님께서 보내신 거룩한 분이십니다." 하고 외쳤다.
- 그래서 예수께서 "입을 다물고 이 사람에게서 나가거라." 하고 꾸짖으시자

- They went to Capernaum, and when the Sabbath came, Jesus went into the synagogue and began to teach.
- The people were amazed at his teaching, because he taught them as one who had authority, not as the teachers of the law.
- Just then a man in their synagogue who was possessed by an evil spirit cried out,
- "What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are--the Holy One of God!"
- "Be quiet!" said Jesus sternly. "Come out of him!"

- 더러운 악령은 그 사람에게 발작을 일으켜놓고 큰소리를 지르며 떠나갔다.
- 이것을 보고 모두들 놀라 "이게 어찌 된 일이냐? 이것은 권위 있는 새 교훈이다. 그의 명령에는 더러운 악령들도 굴복하는구나!" 하며 서로 수군거렸다.
- 예수의 소문은 삽시간에 온 갈릴래아와 그 근방에 두루 퍼졌다.

- The evil spirit shook the man violently and came out of him with a shriek.
- The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, "What is this? A new teaching--and with authority! He even gives orders to evil spirits and they obey him."
- News about him spread quickly over the whole region of Galilee.
