- 여호수아가 나이 많아 늙자 야훼께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. "너는 이제 나이 많아 늙었는데 정복할 땅은 아직도 많이 남아 있다.
- 남아 있는 땅으로는 불레셋 사람들의 전지역과 그술 사람들의 전지역이 있다.
- 이집트 동편 시홀로부터 북쪽으로 에크론 경계에 이르는 땅은 가나안 사람들의 것으로 친다. 이 불레셋 사람들의 다섯 추장은 가자, 아스돗, 아스클론, 갓, 에크론의 추장들이다. 아위 사람들은
- 그 남쪽에 있다. 시돈 사람들이 차지하고 있는 아라에서 아모리인과 접경한 아베카에 이르는 가나안 사람들의 전지역,
- 또 그발 사람의 땅과 거기에서 해 뜨는 쪽으로 헤르몬 산 아래 바알갓에서 하맛에 이르는 온 레바논 땅이 남아 있다.

- When Joshua was old and well advanced in years, the LORD said to him, "You are very old, and there are still very large areas of land to be taken over.
- "This is the land that remains: all the regions of the Philistines and Geshurites:
- from the Shihor River on the east of Egypt to the territory of Ekron on the north, all of it counted as Canaanite (the territory of the five Philistine rulers in Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath and Ekron--that of the Avvites
- from the south, all the land of the Canaanites, from Arah of the Sidonians as far as Aphek, the region of the Amorites,
- the area of the Gebalites ; and all Lebanon to the east, from Baal Gad below Mount Hermon to Lebo Hamath.

- 레바논에서 미스르봇마임에 이르는 산악 지대에 사는 모든 시돈 사람들을 내가 이스라엘 사람들 앞에서 친히 몰아내리라. 그러니 내가 너에게 명한 대로 그 땅을 이스라엘 백성에게 나누어주기만 하여라.
- 이제 너는 이 땅을 아홉 지파와 므나쎄 지파의 절반에게 나누어주어라."
- 므나쎄 지파 나머지와 함께 르우벤 지파와 가드 지파는 이미 요르단 강 동편 땅을 모세에게서 유산으로 받았다. 야훼의 종 모세에게서 그들이 받은 땅은 아래와 같다.
- 아르논 개울 언덕 위에 있는 아로엘과 개울 가에 있는 성과 메드바에서 디본에 이르는 고원 지대 전역,
- 아모리 왕 시혼이 암몬 백성과 접경하고 헤스본을 수도로 하여 다스리던 모든 성,

- "As for all the inhabitants of the mountain regions from Lebanon to Misrephoth Maim, that is, all the Sidonians, I myself will drive them out before the Israelites. Be sure to allocate this land to Israel for an inheritance, as I have instructed you,
- and divide it as an inheritance among the nine tribes and half of the tribe of Manasseh."
- The other half of Manasseh, the Reubenites and the Gadites had received the inheritance that Moses had given them east of the Jordan, as he, the servant of the LORD, had assigned it to them.
- It extended from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Gorge, and from the town in the middle of the gorge, and included the whole plateau of Medeba as far as Dibon,
- and all the towns of Sihon king of the Amorites, who ruled in Heshbon, out to the border of the Ammonites.

- 길르앗과 그술 사람과 마아갓 사람의 영토, 헤르몬의 전 산악 지대, 살가에 이르는 바산 전지역,
- 아스다롯과 에드레이를 수도로 하고 다스리던 마지막 거인족 옥의 나라 바산이 그것이다. 모세가 그들을 쳐서 그 땅을 점령했던 것이다.
- 그런데 이스라엘 백성은 그술족과 마아갓족만은 쫓아내지 못하였으므로 그술과 마아갓은 이날까지 이스라엘 가운데 끼여 살고 있다.
- 레위 지파만은 유산을 받지 않았다. 이스라엘의 하느님 야훼께서 약속대로 그들의 유산이 되어주셨기 때문이다.
- 르우벤 자손의 지파가 갈래를 따라 모세에게서 받은

- It also included Gilead, the territory of the people of Geshur and Maacah, all of Mount Hermon and all Bashan as far as Salecah-
- that is, the whole kingdom of Og in Bashan, who had reigned in Ashtaroth and Edrei and had survived as one of the last of the Rephaites. Moses had defeated them and taken over their land.
- But the Israelites did not drive out the people of Geshur and Maacah, so they continue to live among the Israelites to this day.
- But to the tribe of Levi he gave no inheritance, since the offerings made by fire to the LORD, the God of Israel, are their inheritance, as he promised them.
- This is what Moses had given to the tribe of Reuben, clan by clan:

- The territory from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Gorge, and from the town in the middle of the gorge, and the whole plateau past Medeba
- to Heshbon and all its towns on the plateau, including Dibon, Bamoth Baal, Beth Baal Meon,
- Jahaz, Kedemoth, Mephaath,
- Kiriathaim, Sibmah, Zereth Shahar on the hill in the valley,
- Beth Peor, the slopes of Pisgah, and Beth Jeshimoth

- 이렇게 고원 지대에 있는 모든 성이었다. 이것은 헤스본을 수도로 하고 다스리던 아모리 왕 시혼의 나라였다. 그는 모세에게 패하였다. 그 땅에 살던 시혼의 장군들 에위와 레켐과 수르와 후르와 레바도 그와 함께 패하였는데, 그들은 미디안 대표들이었다.

- --all the towns on the plateau and the entire realm of Sihon king of the Amorites, who ruled at Heshbon. Moses had defeated him and the Midianite chiefs, Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur and Reba--princes allied with Sihon--who lived in that country.
- In addition to those slain in battle, the Israelites had put to the sword Balaam son of Beor, who practiced divination.
- The boundary of the Reubenites was the bank of the Jordan. These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the Reubenites, clan by clan.
- This is what Moses had given to the tribe of Gad, clan by clan:
- The territory of Jazer, all the towns of Gilead and half the Ammonite country as far as Aroer, near Rabbah;

- 또 헤스본에서 라맛미즈베와 브도님까지, 마하나임에서 로드발 지경까지,
- 그리고 벳하람, 벳니므라, 수꼿, 사본 등 헤스본 왕 시혼의 나머지 영토인 요르단 계곡인데, 그 경계는 요르단 강 건너 해 뜨는 쪽 계곡으로서 긴네렛 호수 한 끝에 이른다.
- 이렇게 가드 후손은 갈래를 따라 위와 같은 여러 성과 그 주변 지역을 유산으로 차지하였다.
- 므나쎄 자손의 지파 절반이 갈래를 따라 모세에게서 받은
- 지역은 마하나임에서 시작되는 바산 전지역, 바산 왕 옥의 영토였던 바산에 있는 야이르의 천막촌 육십 개이다.

- and from Heshbon to Ramath Mizpah and Betonim, and from Mahanaim to the territory of Debir;
- and in the valley, Beth Haram, Beth Nimrah, Succoth and Zaphon with the rest of the realm of Sihon king of Heshbon (the east side of the Jordan, the territory up to the end of the Sea of Kinnereth ).
- These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the Gadites, clan by clan.
- This is what Moses had given to the half-tribe of Manasseh, that is, to half the family of the descendants of Manasseh, clan by clan:
- The territory extending from Mahanaim and including all of Bashan, the entire realm of Og king of Bashan--all the settlements of Jair in Bashan, sixty towns,

- 길르앗 절반과 바산에 있는 옥의 두 수도 아스다롯과 에드레이는 므나쎄의 아들 마길이 받았지만 실상은 마길 후손의 절반이 받은 것이다.
- 이상은 모세가 요르단 강 건너편, 예리고 동쪽 모압 평지에서 나누어준 땅이다.
- 모세는 레위 지파에게는 아무런 유산도 주지 않았다. 이스라엘의 하느님 야훼께서 약속대로 친히 그들의 유산이 되어주시기 때문이었다.

- half of Gilead, and Ashtaroth and Edrei (the royal cities of Og in Bashan). This was for the descendants of Makir son of Manasseh--for half of the sons of Makir, clan by clan.
- This is the inheritance Moses had given when he was in the plains of Moab across the Jordan east of Jericho.
- But to the tribe of Levi, Moses had given no inheritance; the LORD, the God of Israel, is their inheritance, as he promised them.
