열왕기하 20:1-21:26

 히스기야는 불치병을 기도로 치료받고 생명을 15년 연장받는 기적을 체험하였지만, 바벨론 사절단 앞에서 자신의 부귀 영화를 자랑하는 교만한 행위를 나타냄으로써 이사야 선지자를 통해 유다 왕국의 멸망을 예고받았다. 히스기야의 뒤를 이은 므낫세와 아몬은 거듭된 하나님의 심판의 경고에도 불구하고 우상 숭배와 사악한 통치를 행하여 유다 멸망의 결정적인 원인을 제공하였다.
  
  히스기야의 생명 연장과 실수(20:1-20:21)    
 
  1. 그 무렵 히즈키야가 몹시 앓아 거의 죽게 되었다. 아모쓰의 아들 예언자 이사야가 왕에게 와서 말하였다. "이것은 야훼의 말씀이오. '너의 왕실에 마지막 유시를 내려 기강을 바로잡아라. 너는 곧 죽게 될 것이며 다시 회복되지 못하리라.'"
  2. 히즈키야는 벽을 향하여 얼굴을 돌리고 야훼께 기도하였다.
  3. "오, 야훼여, 제가 항상 당신 앞에서 참되게 살았으며, 충성스럽게 당신을 섬겼고, 당신 보시기에 선한 일을 행하였음을 기억하여 주십시오." 그리고 나서 히즈키야는 매우 슬프게 울었다.
  4. 이사야가 성의 안뜰을 떠나기 전에 야훼의 말씀이 그에게 내렸다.
  5. "너는 돌아가서 내 백성의 왕 히즈키야에게 일러주어라. '너의 선조 다윗의 하느님 야훼가 하는 말이다. 네 기도를 내가 들었고 네 눈물을 내가 보았다. 내가 너의 병을 낫게 해주리라. 삼 일 만에 너는 야훼의 전에 올라가게 되리라.
  1. In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, "This is what the LORD says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover."
  2. Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD,
  3. "Remember, O LORD, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes." And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
  4. Before Isaiah had left the middle court, the word of the LORD came to him:
  5. "Go back and tell Hezekiah, the leader of my people, 'This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the LORD.
  1. 내가 너의 수명을 십오 년 더 연장시켜 주리라. 내가 너와 이 성을 아시리아 왕에게서 건져주고 나 자신과 나의 종 다윗을 보아서 이 성을 보호하리라.'"
  2. 이 말을 전한 다음 이사야는 무화과로 만든 고약을 가져오라고 하였다. 사람들이 무화과로 만든 고약을 가져다 종기에 붙이자 히즈키야 왕의 병이 나았다.
  3. 히즈키야는 자기가 다시 회복되어서 삼 일만에 야훼의 전에 올라가게 되리라는 무슨 증거라도 야훼께서 주셨는지 이사야에게 물었다.
  4. 이사야가 대답하였다. "여기에 야훼께서 당신의 약속을 그대로 이루시리라는 증거가 있습니다. 그림자를 열 칸 앞으로 나가게 할까요? 열 칸 뒤로 물러나게 할까요?"
  5. 히즈키야가 대답하였다. "그림자를 열 칸 앞으로 나가게 하는 것은 쉬운 일이오. 열 칸 뒤로 물러나게 해주시오."
  1. I will add fifteen years to your life. And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city for my sake and for the sake of my servant David.' "
  2. Then Isaiah said, "Prepare a poultice of figs." They did so and applied it to the boil, and he recovered.
  3. Hezekiah had asked Isaiah, "What will be the sign that the LORD will heal me and that I will go up to the temple of the LORD on the third day from now?"
  4. Isaiah answered, "This is the LORD's sign to you that the LORD will do what he has promised: Shall the shadow go forward ten steps, or shall it go back ten steps?"
  5. "It is a simple matter for the shadow to go forward ten steps," said Hezekiah. "Rather, have it go back ten steps."
  1. 예언자 이사야가 야훼를 불러 찾았다. 그리고는 그림자를 아하즈의 계단 아래로부터 시작하여 열 칸 뒤로 물러나게 하였다.
  2. 그 무렵 바빌론의 왕 발라단의 아들 므로닥발라단이 히즈키야가 병들었다가 나았다는 소식을 듣고 사절단을 보내어 편지와 예물을 전하였다.
  3. 히즈키야는 그 사절단을 환대하고 자기의 보물 창고 안에 있는 금, 은, 향료, 향유, 병기, 기타 모든 귀중품을 보여주었다. 히즈키야는 그의 왕궁과 나라 안에 있는 모든 것을 남김없이 보여주었다.
  4. 예언자 이사야가 히즈키야 왕에게 와서 물었다. "이 사람들이 무슨 말을 했으며 어디에서 온 사람들입니까?" 히즈키야가 대답하였다. "그들은 먼 나라 바빌론에서 온 사람들이오."
  5. 그러자 이사야가 다시 물었다. "그들이 왕의 궁전에서 무엇을 보았습니까?" 히즈키야가 대답하였다. "그들은 나의 궁 안에 있는 모든 것을 다 보았소. 또 나의 보물 창고 안에 있는 귀중품들을 그들은 모두 보았소."
  1. Then the prophet Isaiah called upon the LORD, and the LORD made the shadow go back the ten steps it had gone down on the stairway of Ahaz.
  2. At that time Merodach-Baladan son of Baladan king of Babylon sent Hezekiah letters and a gift, because he had heard of Hezekiah's illness.
  3. Hezekiah received the messengers and showed them all that was in his storehouses--the silver, the gold, the spices and the fine oil--his armory and everything found among his treasures. There was nothing in his palace or in all his kingdom that Hezekiah did not show them.
  4. Then Isaiah the prophet went to King Hezekiah and asked, "What did those men say, and where did they come from?" "From a distant land," Hezekiah replied. "They came from Babylon."
  5. The prophet asked, "What did they see in your palace?" "They saw everything in my palace," Hezekiah said. "There is nothing among my treasures that I did not show them."
  1. 이 말을 듣고 이사야가 히즈키야에게 말하였다. "야훼의 말씀을 들으십시오.
  2. 야훼께서 이렇게 말씀하십니다. '네 왕궁에 있는 모든 것, 네 선조들이 오늘날까지 고이 간직하였던 모든 것이 바빌론으로 옮겨지고 하나도 남지 않게 될 그 날이 다가오고 있다.
  3. 너에게서 태어날 너의 친아들들 중 더러는 바빌론 왕궁으로 끌려가 내시가 되리라.'"
  4. 히즈키야가 대답하였다. "그대가 전한 야훼의 말씀은 지당하신 말씀이오." 그리고 자기의 목숨이 붙어 있는 동안은 평화와 안전이 계속되리라고 혼자 생각하였다.
  5. 히즈키야의 나머지 사적과 업적, 저수지를 파고 물길을 터서 성 안으로 물을 끌어들인 일에 관하여는 유다 왕조실록에 기록되어 있다.
  1. Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, "Hear the word of the LORD :
  2. The time will surely come when everything in your palace, and all that your fathers have stored up until this day, will be carried off to Babylon. Nothing will be left, says the LORD.
  3. And some of your descendants, your own flesh and blood, that will be born to you, will be taken away, and they will become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon."
  4. "The word of the LORD you have spoken is good," Hezekiah replied. For he thought, "Will there not be peace and security in my lifetime?"
  5. As for the other events of Hezekiah's reign, all his achievements and how he made the pool and the tunnel by which he brought water into the city, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah?
  1. 히즈키야는 잠이 들어 그의 선조들 곁에 안장되었다. 그의 아들 므나쎄가 왕위를 계승하였다.
  1. Hezekiah rested with his fathers. And Manasseh his son succeeded him as king.
 
  므낫세의 악정과 심판 예고(21:1-21:26)    
 
  1. 므나쎄는 십이 세에 왕위에 올라 예루살렘에서 오십오 년간 다스렸다. 그의 어머니는 이름을 헵시바라 하였다.
  2. 므나쎄는 야훼의 눈에 거슬리는 그릇된 정치를 폈다. 야훼께서 이스라엘 사람 면전에서 쫓아낸 민족들의 역겨운 풍속을 따라
  3. 부왕 히즈키야가 허물어버린 산당들을 다시 세웠고 이스라엘 왕 아합을 본받아 바알 제단을 쌓았으며 아세라 목상을 만들었고 하늘의 별들을 절하여 섬겼다.
  4. 그는 야훼의 전 안에 제단들을 쌓았는데, 그 전을 두고 야훼께서는 일찍이 "내가 예루살렘을 내 이름으로 삼으리라." 하셨던 것이다.
  5. 그는 이 야훼의 전 안팎 뜰 안에 하늘의 별들을 섬기는 제단들을 쌓았다.
  1. Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem fifty-five years. His mother's name was Hephzibah.
  2. He did evil in the eyes of the LORD, following the detestable practices of the nations the LORD had driven out before the Israelites.
  3. He rebuilt the high places his father Hezekiah had destroyed; he also erected altars to Baal and made an Asherah pole, as Ahab king of Israel had done. He bowed down to all the starry hosts and worshiped them.
  4. He built altars in the temple of the LORD, of which the LORD had said, "In Jerusalem I will put my Name."
  5. In both courts of the temple of the LORD, he built altars to all the starry hosts.
  1. 그리고 왕자들을 불에 살라 바칠 뿐 아니라 점쟁이와 술객을 두었고 혼백을 불러내는 무당과 박수를 두었다. 이렇게 야훼의 눈에 거슬리는 일을 많이 하여 야훼의 속을 썩여드렸다.
  2. 또 그는 아세라 목상을 만들어 야훼의 전 안에 세웠다. 야훼께서는 일찍이 이 예루살렘 성전을 두고 다윗과 그의 아들 솔로몬에게 이렇게 말씀하셨던 것이다. "이 성전, 이스라엘 온 지파들 가운데서 선택한 이 예루살렘에 영원히 나의 이름을 둔다.
  3. 만일 내 명령을 성실히 지키고 나의 종 모세가 일러준 모든 법을 성실히 지키기만 한다면 선조들에게 주었던 땅에서 이스라엘 온 지파들을 다시는 내쫓지 않으리라."
  4. 그러나 그들은 그 말씀을 듣지 않았다. 므나쎄는 이스라엘을 그릇 인도하였다. 그리하여 이스라엘이 저지른 악이 야훼께서 자기들 면전에서 멸하신 민족들보다 한층 더 심하였다.
  5. 그리하여 야훼께서는 당신의 예언자들을 시켜 말씀하셨다.
  1. He sacrificed his own son in the fire, practiced sorcery and divination, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the eyes of the LORD, provoking him to anger.
  2. He took the carved Asherah pole he had made and put it in the temple, of which the LORD had said to David and to his son Solomon, "In this temple and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my Name forever.
  3. I will not again make the feet of the Israelites wander from the land I gave their forefathers, if only they will be careful to do everything I commanded them and will keep the whole Law that my servant Moses gave them."
  4. But the people did not listen. Manasseh led them astray, so that they did more evil than the nations the LORD had destroyed before the Israelites.
  5. The LORD said through his servants the prophets:
  1. "유다 왕 므나쎄가 이러한 여러 가지 고약한 일들을 행하였는데 일찍이 그 어느 아모리 사람이 그보다 더 악하였더냐? 그는 우상을 만들어 유다를 죄에 빠뜨렸다.
  2. 이스라엘의 하느님, 나 야훼가 선언한다. 나 이제 듣는 자마다 가슴이 내려앉을 재앙을 예루살렘과 유다에 내리리라.
  3. 사마리아를 허물 때 쓰던 측량줄과 아합의 궁궐을 허물 때 쓰던 다림줄을 대고 예루살렘을 허물어버리리라. 사람이 접시를 뒤집어 닦듯이 예루살렘 안팎을 말끔히 씻어버리리라.
  4. 내가 남아 있는 나의 백성을 버려 원수들의 손에 넘겨주면 모든 원수들이 달려들어 모조리 털어갈 것이다.
  5. 선조들이 이집트에서 나오던 날로부터 이 날에 이르기까지 내 눈에 거슬리는 일을 하여 나의 속을 썩여주었기 때문이다.
  1. "Manasseh king of Judah has committed these detestable sins. He has done more evil than the Amorites who preceded him and has led Judah into sin with his idols.
  2. Therefore this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: I am going to bring such disaster on Jerusalem and Judah that the ears of everyone who hears of it will tingle.
  3. I will stretch out over Jerusalem the measuring line used against Samaria and the plumb line used against the house of Ahab. I will wipe out Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.
  4. I will forsake the remnant of my inheritance and hand them over to their enemies. They will be looted and plundered by all their foes,
  5. because they have done evil in my eyes and have provoked me to anger from the day their forefathers came out of Egypt until this day."
  1. 므나쎄는 나의 눈에 거슬리는 그 못할 짓을 하도록 이끌어 유다 백성을 죄에 빠뜨린데다가 무죄한 사람의 피마저 흘려 온 예루살렘을 피바다로 만들었다."
  2. 므나쎄의 나머지 사적과 행적 그리고 그가 저지른 죄는 유다 왕조실록에 기록되어 있다.
  3. 므나쎄가 그 선조들과 같이 잠들자 우짜 정원이라고도 하는 왕실 정원에 안장되었다. 그의 아들 아몬이 왕위를 계승하였다.
  4. 아몬은 이십이 세에 즉위하여 예루살렘에서 이 년간 다스렸다. 그의 어머니는 요빠 출신인 하루스의 딸로서 이름을 므술레멧이라 하였다.
  5. 그는 부왕 므나쎄가 그러했듯이 야훼 보시기에 악한 일을 행하였다.
  1. Moreover, Manasseh also shed so much innocent blood that he filled Jerusalem from end to end--besides the sin that he had caused Judah to commit, so that they did evil in the eyes of the LORD.
  2. As for the other events of Manasseh's reign, and all he did, including the sin he committed, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah?
  3. Manasseh rested with his fathers and was buried in his palace garden, the garden of Uzza. And Amon his son succeeded him as king.
  4. Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem two years. His mother's name was Meshullemeth daughter of Haruz; she was from Jotbah.
  5. He did evil in the eyes of the LORD, as his father Manasseh had done.
  1. 부왕의 전철을 그대로 밟아 부왕이 숭배했던 우상을 숭배하였다.
  2. 그는 선조들의 하느님 야훼를 버리고 야훼의 길을 벗어났다.
  3. 아몬 왕의 신하들이 반란을 일으켜 그를 궁에서 죽였다.
  4. 그러나 지방민들이 반란자들을 모조리 쳐죽이고 왕자 요시아를 왕으로 모셔 대를 잇게 하였다.
  5. 아몬의 나머지 사적은 유다 왕조실록에 기록되어 있다.
  1. He walked in all the ways of his father; he worshiped the idols his father had worshiped, and bowed down to them.
  2. He forsook the LORD, the God of his fathers, and did not walk in the way of the LORD.
  3. Amon's officials conspired against him and assassinated the king in his palace.
  4. Then the people of the land killed all who had plotted against King Amon, and they made Josiah his son king in his place.
  5. As for the other events of Amon's reign, and what he did, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah?
  1. 아몬은 우짜 정원에 있는 그의 묘지에 매장되었다. 그의 아들 요시아가 왕위를 계승하였다.
  1. He was buried in his grave in the garden of Uzza. And Josiah his son succeeded him as king.
