역대하 8:1-9:31

 솔로몬의 지혜로운 통치로 말미암아 정치, 경제, 종교, 각 방면으로 부강한 나라가 되었다. 그의 명성을 듣고 방문한 스바 여왕은 솔로몬의 지혜와 부귀 영화에 탄복하고 돌아갔다.
  
  솔로몬의 업적들(8:1-8:18)    
 
  1. 솔로몬이 야훼의 성전과 자기의 궁전을 짓는 데는 이십 년이 걸렸다.
  2. 솔로몬은 후람에게서 받은 성들도 개축하고 거기에 이스라엘 백성을 정착시켰다.
  3. 솔로몬은 또 하맛소바로 가서 이를 정복하였다.
  4. 그는 광야에 다드몰을 건설하였고 하맛에는 양곡 저장성들을 건설하였다.
  5. 또 윗벳호론과 아랫벳호론에 성을 쌓고 문을 만들어 달고 빗장을 질러 그 곳을 요새 도시로 만들고,
  1. At the end of twenty years, during which Solomon built the temple of the LORD and his own palace,
  2. Solomon rebuilt the villages that Hiram had given him, and settled Israelites in them.
  3. Solomon then went to Hamath Zobah and captured it.
  4. He also built up Tadmor in the desert and all the store cities he had built in Hamath.
  5. He rebuilt Upper Beth Horon and Lower Beth Horon as fortified cities, with walls and with gates and bars,
  1. 바알랏을 건설하고 왕실 양곡을 저장해 두는 모든 성들과 모든 병거 주둔성들과 군마 주둔성들을 건설하였다. 예루살렘을 비롯하여 레바논과 전 영토 안의 건축은 다 솔로몬의 계획대로 되었다.
  2. 그런데 이스라엘 사람 아닌 헷족, 아모리족, 브리즈족, 히위족, 여부스족 가운데서 살아 남은 사람들이 있었다.
  3. 이들은 이스라엘 백성이 없애버리지 않고 남겨둔 사람들의 후손이었는데, 솔로몬은 이 사람들을 부역에 동원하였다. 이들은 지금까지도 그런 신세다.
  4. 이스라엘 사람들은 군인 노릇을 해야 했다. 지휘관 아니면 근위대장, 그것도 아니면 병거대와 기병대 대장 일을 맡았다. 그래서 솔로몬은 이스라엘 사람을 한 명도 자기가 일으킨 공사에 부역시키지 않았다.
  5. 솔로몬 왕은 사람들을 감독할 책임자 이백오십 명을 두었는데 그 이름은 아래와 같다.
  1. as well as Baalath and all his store cities, and all the cities for his chariots and for his horses --whatever he desired to build in Jerusalem, in Lebanon and throughout all the territory he ruled.
  2. All the people left from the Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites (these peoples were not Israelites),
  3. that is, their descendants remaining in the land, whom the Israelites had not destroyed--these Solomon conscripted for his slave labor force, as it is to this day.
  4. But Solomon did not make slaves of the Israelites for his work; they were his fighting men, commanders of his captains, and commanders of his chariots and charioteers.
  5. They were also King Solomon's chief officials--two hundred and fifty officials supervising the men.
  1. 솔로몬은 파라오의 공주가 살 궁을 따로 세우고 다윗 성에서 데려다가 그 궁에서 살게 하였다. 이스라엘 왕 다윗이 살던 궁은 야훼의 궤가 있던 곳으로 거룩한 곳인데, 어찌 여인을 거기에서 살게 하랴 싶었던 것이다.
  2. 그 때 솔로몬은 자기가 현관 앞에 세운 제단에서 야훼께 번제를 드렸다.
  3. 그는 모세의 법에 따라 날마다 바치는 것과 안식일과 새 달과 연중 삼대 절기인 무교절, 추수절, 장막절에 바치는 것을 바쳤다.
  4. 또 선왕 다윗이 정해 준 법에 따라 사제들을 반을 짜서 날마다 봉직하게 하였다. 레위인들에게는 찬양하며 사제들을 거드는 직책을 정해 주었고, 문지기들도 반을 짜서 문마다 배치시켰다. 하느님의 사람 다윗이 이렇게 하라고 분부를 내려두었던 것이다.
  5. 왕은 사제들과 레위인들에게 창고를 관리하는 일까지 자세한 지시를 내렸는데, 사람들은 그것을 하나도 어기지 않았다.
  1. Solomon brought Pharaoh's daughter up from the City of David to the palace he had built for her, for he said, "My wife must not live in the palace of David king of Israel, because the places the ark of the LORD has entered are holy."
  2. On the altar of the LORD that he had built in front of the portico, Solomon sacrificed burnt offerings to the LORD,
  3. according to the daily requirement for offerings commanded by Moses for Sabbaths, New Moons and the three annual feasts--the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks and the Feast of Tabernacles.
  4. In keeping with the ordinance of his father David, he appointed the divisions of the priests for their duties, and the Levites to lead the praise and to assist the priests according to each day's requirement. He also appointed the gatekeepers by divisions for the various gates, because this was what David the man of God had ordered.
  5. They did not deviate from the king's commands to the priests or to the Levites in any matter, including that of the treasuries.
  1. 이 날로 솔로몬이 일으킨 공사는 다 끝났다. 야훼의 성전은 기초 공사로부터 완벽하게 이루어져 완공되었다.
  2. 그리고 나서 솔로몬은 에돔 땅 바닷가 에시욘게벨과 엘랏으로 갔다.
  3. 후람이 수하 사람들을 시켜 그에게 상선대를 보내고 노련한 선원들도 보냈던 것이다. 그들은 솔로몬의 선원들과 함께 오빌 지방에 가서 금 사백이십 달란트를 실어다가 솔로몬에게 바쳤다.
  1. All Solomon's work was carried out, from the day the foundation of the temple of the LORD was laid until its completion. So the temple of the LORD was finished.
  2. Then Solomon went to Ezion Geber and Elath on the coast of Edom.
  3. And Hiram sent him ships commanded by his own officers, men who knew the sea. These, with Solomon's men, sailed to Ophir and brought back four hundred and fifty talents of gold, which they delivered to King Solomon.
 
  솔로몬의 영광과 죽음(9:1-9:31)    
 
  1. 세바라는 곳에 한 여왕이 있었는데, 솔로몬의 명성을 듣고 어려운 문제로 그를 시험해 볼 속셈으로 각종 향료와 아주 많은 금과 보석 등 값진 것을 낙타에 싣고 예루살렘에 온 일이 있었다. 여왕은 솔로몬을 만나 묻고 싶었던 것을 물어보았다.
  2. 솔로몬은 여왕의 질문에 하나도 막히지 않고 다 대답해 주었다.
  3. 세바의 여왕은 솔로몬의 지혜를 보았을 뿐 아니라 그가 세운 궁전과
  4. 식탁에 오르는 요리, 둘러앉은 신하들, 제복을 입고 심부름하며 술을 따르는 시종들, 또 야훼의 성전에 올리는 번제물을 보고는 넋을 잃고
  5. 왕에게 말하였다. "당신과 당신의 지혜에 대한 소문은 내 나라에서 이미 듣고 있었습니다만, 과연 사실이군요.
  1. When the queen of Sheba heard of Solomon's fame, she came to Jerusalem to test him with hard questions. Arriving with a very great caravan--with camels carrying spices, large quantities of gold, and precious stones--she came to Solomon and talked with him about all she had on her mind.
  2. Solomon answered all her questions; nothing was too hard for him to explain to her.
  3. When the queen of Sheba saw the wisdom of Solomon, as well as the palace he had built,
  4. the food on his table, the seating of his officials, the attending servants in their robes, the cupbearers in their robes and the burnt offerings he made at the temple of the LORD, she was overwhelmed.
  5. She said to the king, "The report I heard in my own country about your achievements and your wisdom is true.
  1. 이렇게 와서 내 눈으로 직접 보기 전까지는 그 이야기가 하나도 믿어지지 않았습니다. 그러나 내가 들은 이야기는 이제 보니 사실의 절반도 못되는 것이었습니다. 당신은 내가 듣던 소문보다 훨씬 뛰어나신 분입니다.
  2. 당신을 모시는 부인들이야말로 행복한 여인들입니다. 언제나 당신 앞에 서서 당신의 지혜로운 말씀을 듣는 신하들이야말로 행복한 사람들입니다.
  3. 당신의 하느님 야훼께 찬양을 돌립니다. 야훼께서는 당신이 마음에 드시어 당신의 하느님 야훼를 대신해서 왕노릇 하라고 당신을 자기의 옥좌에 앉히셨습니다. 당신의 하느님께서는 이스라엘을 사랑하시어 언제까지나 넘어지지 않게 하시려고 당신을 왕으로 세우시어 바른 정치를 펴게 하셨습니다."
  4. 그리고 여왕은 금 백이십 달란트와 많은 향료와 보석을 왕에게 선물하였다. 솔로몬 왕은 세바 여왕에게서 받은 만큼 많은 향료를 받은 일이 없었다.
  5. 게다가 오빌 지방에서 금을 실어오던 후람의 일꾼들과 솔로몬의 일꾼들이 오동나무 재목과 보석을 실어 왔다.
  1. But I did not believe what they said until I came and saw with my own eyes. Indeed, not even half the greatness of your wisdom was told me; you have far exceeded the report I heard.
  2. How happy your men must be! How happy your officials, who continually stand before you and hear your wisdom!
  3. Praise be to the LORD your God, who has delighted in you and placed you on his throne as king to rule for the LORD your God. Because of the love of your God for Israel and his desire to uphold them forever, he has made you king over them, to maintain justice and righteousness."
  4. Then she gave the king 120 talents of gold, large quantities of spices, and precious stones. There had never been such spices as those the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.
  5. (The men of Hiram and the men of Solomon brought gold from Ophir; they also brought algumwood and precious stones.
  1. 왕은 이 오동나무 재목으로 야훼의 성전과 왕궁 계단의 난간을 만들고 노래에 맞추어 탈 수금과 거문고를 만들었다. 이런 오동나무 재목은 일찍이 유다 나라에서 본 일이 없던 것이었다.
  2. 솔로몬 왕은 세바 여왕이 가져온 만큼 답례를 주었으며, 그 외에 여왕이 원하는 것을 다 주었다. 여왕은 시종들을 거느리고 자기의 나라로 돌아갔다.
  3. 해마다 솔로몬이 수입한 금은 육백육십육 달란트나 되었다.
  4. 관세 수입금과 외국과의 무역에서 벌어들인 이익금과 아라비아 여러 왕과 국내의 지방장관들에게서 들어오는 것을 제외하고도 그렇게 되었다.
  5. 솔로몬 왕은 금을 입힌 대형 방패를 이백 개 만들었는데 방패 하나에 금 육백 세겔이 들었다.
  1. The king used the algumwood to make steps for the temple of the LORD and for the royal palace, and to make harps and lyres for the musicians. Nothing like them had ever been seen in Judah.)
  2. King Solomon gave the queen of Sheba all she desired and asked for; he gave her more than she had brought to him. Then she left and returned with her retinue to her own country.
  3. The weight of the gold that Solomon received yearly was 666 talents,
  4. not including the revenues brought in by merchants and traders. Also all the kings of Arabia and the governors of the land brought gold and silver to Solomon.
  5. King Solomon made two hundred large shields of hammered gold; six hundred bekas of hammered gold went into each shield.
  1. 또 금을 입힌 소형 방패를 삼백 개 만들었는데 방패 하나에 금 삼백 세겔이 들었다. 왕은 이 방패들을 레바논 수풀궁에 보관하였다.
  2. 왕은 또 상아로 대형 옥좌를 만들고 순금을 입혔다.
  3. 그 옥좌에는 계단이 여섯 개 있었고 금으로 만든 발판이 놓여 있었고, 양편에는 팔걸이가 있었는데 그 팔걸이 옆에 사자 두 마리가 서 있었다.
  4. 여섯 계단 양쪽에도 사자가 여섯 마리씩 모두 열두 마리가 서 있었다. 이와 같은 옥좌는 일찍이 어느 나라에서도 만들지 못한 것이었다.
  5. 솔로몬 왕의 술잔은 모두 금으로 만들었고 레바논 수풀궁에 있는 모든 집기들도 순금으로 만든 것이었다. 은으로 만든 것은 하나도 없었다. 솔로몬 시대에는 은은 귀금속으로 생각지도 않았기 때문이다.
  1. He also made three hundred small shields of hammered gold, with three hundred bekas of gold in each shield. The king put them in the Palace of the Forest of Lebanon.
  2. Then the king made a great throne inlaid with ivory and overlaid with pure gold.
  3. The throne had six steps, and a footstool of gold was attached to it. On both sides of the seat were armrests, with a lion standing beside each of them.
  4. Twelve lions stood on the six steps, one at either end of each step. Nothing like it had ever been made for any other kingdom.
  5. All King Solomon's goblets were gold, and all the household articles in the Palace of the Forest of Lebanon were pure gold. Nothing was made of silver, because silver was considered of little value in Solomon's day.
  1. 또 왕실 상선대는 후람의 일꾼들과 함께 다르싯으로 갔다가 삼 년만에 금, 은, 상아, 원숭이, 공작새들을 실어오곤 하였다.
  2. 솔로몬 왕은 땅 위의 어떤 왕도 따를 수 없을 만큼 부유하였고 지혜로웠다.
  3. 온 세상 임금들은 솔로몬 왕을 찾아와 하느님께서 솔로몬의 마음에 내리신 지혜로운 말을 들으려고 하였다.
  4. 그들은 은그릇, 금그릇, 옷, 갑옷, 향료, 말, 노새 등을 예물로 가지고 찾아왔는데 찾는 자가 매년 그치지 않았다.
  5. 솔로몬은 병거를 끄는 말을 매두는 마구간이 사천 칸 있었고 말은 만 이천 마리가 있었는데, 일부는 병거 주둔성에 배치하고, 일부는 왕 가까이 예루살렘에 주둔시켰다.
  1. The king had a fleet of trading ships manned by Hiram's men. Once every three years it returned, carrying gold, silver and ivory, and apes and baboons.
  2. King Solomon was greater in riches and wisdom than all the other kings of the earth.
  3. All the kings of the earth sought audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom God had put in his heart.
  4. Year after year, everyone who came brought a gift--articles of silver and gold, and robes, weapons and spices, and horses and mules.
  5. Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horses, which he kept in the chariot cities and also with him in Jerusalem.
  1. 솔로몬은 유프라테스 강에서 시작하여 불레셋에 이르기까지, 또 이집트 국경에 이르기까지 그 사이에 있는 모든 나라를 다스리게 되었다.
  2. 예루살렘에서는 은이 돌멩이처럼 흔하게 되었고 송백은 야산 지대의 돌무화과나무만큼이나 많아졌다. 이것은 모두 왕의 덕분이었다.
  3. 솔로몬은 군마를 이집트뿐 아니라 모든 나라에서 수입해 들였다.
  4. 솔로몬의 나머지 행적은 처음부터 마지막까지 예언자 나단의 기록과 실로 사람 아히야의 예언서, 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 장래를 내다보고 쓴 선견자 이또의 환상록에 기록되어 있다.
  5. 솔로몬은 예루살렘에서 사십 년간 온 이스라엘을 다스리고는,
  1. He ruled over all the kings from the River to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt.
  2. The king made silver as common in Jerusalem as stones, and cedar as plentiful as sycamore-fig trees in the foothills.
  3. Solomon's horses were imported from Egypt and from all other countries.
  4. As for the other events of Solomon's reign, from beginning to end, are they not written in the records of Nathan the prophet, in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite and in the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam son of Nebat?
  5. Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.
  1. 세상을 떠나 선왕 다윗의 성에 안장되었다. 그의 아들 르호보암이 뒤를 이어 왕위에 올랐다.
  1. Then he rested with his fathers and was buried in the city of David his father. And Rehoboam his son succeeded him as king.
