- 형제 여러분, 이제는 성령께서 주시는 선물에 대하여 말씀 드리겠는데 여러분이 꼭 알아야 할 것이 있습니다.
- 아시다시피 여러분이 이교도였을 때에는 헛된 우상에게 매여서 우상이 하자는 대로 끌려다녔습니다.
- 그래서 여러분에게 일러둡니다마는 하느님의 성령을 받아 말하는 사람은 아무도 "예수는 저주받아라." 하고 욕할 수 없고 또 성령의 인도를 받지 않고서는 아무도 "예수는 주님이시다." 하고 고백할 수 없습니다.
- 은총의 선물은 여러 가지이지만 그것을 주시는 분은 같은 성령이십니다.
- 주님을 섬기는 직책은 여러 가지이지만 우리가 섬기는 분은 같은 주님이십니다.

- Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant.
- You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols.
- Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.
- There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.
- There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.

- 일의 결과는 여러 가지이지만 모든 사람 안에서 모든 일을 이루어주시는 분은 같은 하느님이십니다.
- 성령께서는 각 사람에게 각각 다른 은총의 선물을 주셨는데 그것은 공동 이익을 위한 것입니다.
- 어떤 사람은 성령에게서 지혜의 말씀을 받았고 어떤 사람은 같은 성령에게서 지식의 말씀을 받았으며
- 어떤 사람은 같은 성령에게서 믿음을 받았고 어떤 사람은 같은 성령에게서 병 고치는 능력을 선물로 받았습니다.
- 어떤 사람은 기적을 행하는 능력을, 어떤 사람은 하느님의 말씀을 받아서 전하는 직책을, 어떤 사람은 어느 것이 성령의 활동인지를 가려내는 힘을, 어떤 사람은 여러 가지 이상한 언어를 말하는 능력을, 어떤 사람은 그 이상한 언어를 해석하는 힘을 받았습니다.

- There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.
- Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
- To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,
- to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,
- to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.

- 이 모든 것은 같은 성령께서 하시는 일입니다. 성령께서는 이렇게 당신이 원하시는 대로 각 사람에게 각각 다른 은총의 선물을 나누어주십니다.
- 몸은 하나이지만 많은 지체를 가지고 있고 몸에 딸린 지체는 많지만 그 모두가 한 몸을 이루는 것처럼 그리스도의 몸도 그러합니다.
- 유다인이든 그리스인이든 종이든 자유인이든 우리는 모두 한 성령으로 세례를 받아 한 몸이 되었고 같은 성령을 받아 마셨습니다.
- 몸은 한 지체로 된 것이 아니라 많은 지체로 되어 있습니다.
- 발이 "나는 손이 아니니까 몸에 딸리지 않았다." 하고 말한다 해서 발이 몸의 한 부분이 아니겠습니까?

- All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.
- The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ.
- For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body--whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free--and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.
- Now the body is not made up of one part but of many.
- If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body.

- 또 귀가 "나는 눈이 아니니까 몸에 딸리지 않았다." 하고 말한다 해서 귀가 몸의 한 부분이 아니겠습니까?
- 만일 온몸이 다 눈이라면 어떻게 들을 수 있겠습니까? 또 온몸이 다 귀라면 어떻게 냄새를 맡을 수 있겠습니까?
- 그래서 하느님께서는 당신의 뜻대로 각각 다른 기능을 가진 여러 지체를 우리의 몸에 두셨습니다.
- 모든 지체가 다 같은 것이라면 어떻게 몸을 이룰 수 있겠습니까?
- 그래서 한 몸에 많은 지체가 있는 것입니다.

- And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body.
- If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?
- But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.
- If they were all one part, where would the body be?
- As it is, there are many parts, but one body.

- 눈이 손더러 "너는 나에게 소용이 없다." 하고 말할 수도 없고 머리가 발더러 "너는 나에게 소용이 없다." 하고 말할 수도 없습니다.
- 그뿐만 아니라 몸 가운데서 다른 것들보다 약하다고 여겨지는 부분이 오히려 더 요긴합니다.
- 우리는 몸 가운데서 별로 중요하게 여기지 않는 부분을 더욱 조심스럽게 감싸고 또 보기 흉한 부분을 더 보기 좋게 꾸밉니다.
- 그러나 보기 좋은 지체들에게는 그렇게 할 필요가 없습니다. 이렇게 하느님께서도 변변치 못한 부분을 더 귀중하게 여겨주셔서 몸의 조화를 이루게 해주셨습니다.
- 이것은 몸 안에 분열이 생기지 않고 모든 지체가 서로 도와 나가도록 하시려는 것입니다.

- The eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't need you!" And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don't need you!"
- On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable,
- and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty,
- while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it,
- so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other.

- 한 지체가 고통을 당하면 다른 모든 지체도 함께 아파하지 않겠습니까? 또 한 지체가 영광스럽게 되면 다른 모든 지체도 함께 기뻐하지 않겠습니까?
- 여러분은 다 함께 그리스도의 몸을 이루고 있으며 한 사람 한 사람은 그 지체가 되어 있습니다.

- If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
- Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
