욥기 27:1-29:25

 욥은 계속해서 자신은 불의와 궤휼을 말하지 않고 자신의 의를 굳게 잡아 순전히 지켰다고 하였다. 그리고 하나님을 경외하는 것이 지혜이고, 악을 떠나는 것이 명철이라고 고백하였다. 그리고 시험받기 이전의 자신의 모습을 회상하면서, 하나님께서 자신을 보호해 주셨으며 자신도 왕처럼 현명하여 다른 사람들을 위로해 줄 수 있는 존재였다고 고백하였다.
  
  욥의 독백(27:1-29:25)    
 
  1. 욥이 계속해서 탄식하며 읊조렸다.
  2. 나의 옳음을 마다시는 살아 계신 하느님의 이름으로, 나에게 고통을 주시는 전능하신 분의 이름으로 말한다.
  3. 나의 입김이 끊기지 않고 하느님의 숨결이 나의 코에 붙어 있는 한,
  4. 나의 입술은 맹세코 거짓말을 않으리라. 나의 혀는 허풍을 떨지 않으리라.
  5. 내가 머리를 숙이고, 자네들이 옳다고 할 줄 아는가? 어림도 없는 일, 나 숨지기까지 결코 굽히지 않겠네. 나에게는 잘못이 하나도 없네.
  1. And Job continued his discourse:
  2. "As surely as God lives, who has denied me justice, the Almighty, who has made me taste bitterness of soul,
  3. as long as I have life within me, the breath of God in my nostrils,
  4. my lips will not speak wickedness, and my tongue will utter no deceit.
  5. I will never admit you are in the right; till I die, I will not deny my integrity.
  1. 내가 죄없다는 주장을 굽힐 성싶은가? 이 날 이 때까지 마음에 꺼림칙한 날은 하루도 없었네.
  2. 나의 원수여, 불의한 사람처럼 망하여라. 나의 적수여, 악당들처럼 망하여라.
  3. 불경스런 자는 하느님께서 끊어버려, 그 목숨을 거두시는데 무슨 희망이 남아 있으랴?
  4. 재앙이 그 위에 떨어질 때 하느님께서 그의 부르짖음을 들으시랴?
  5. 전능하신 분께서 그의 즐거움이 되시며 그가 무슨 일을 당하든지 과연 하느님을 부를 것인가?
  1. I will maintain my righteousness and never let go of it; my conscience will not reproach me as long as I live.
  2. "May my enemies be like the wicked, my adversaries like the unjust!
  3. For what hope has the godless when he is cut off, when God takes away his life?
  4. Does God listen to his cry when distress comes upon him?
  5. Will he find delight in the Almighty? Will he call upon God at all times?
  1. 나 자네에게 하느님의 힘을 가르쳐주고 전능하신 분의 속뜻을 열어 보여주리라.
  2. 이런 일은 자네도 얼마든지 보아온 일, 그러고도 어찌 그렇게 헛소리만 한단 말인가?
  3. 불의한 자가 하느님에게서 물려받을 분깃을 모르는가? 포악한 자가 전능하신 분에게서 이어받을 유산을 모르는가?
  4. 자식이 많으면 칼에 맞아 죽는 자식이 많고 먹을 것이 없어 헤매는 어린것들이 많아질 뿐,
  5. 살아 남은 식구래야 제대로 묻히지도 못하고 미망인들은 울 수도 없는 신세,
  1. "I will teach you about the power of God; the ways of the Almighty I will not conceal.
  2. You have all seen this yourselves. Why then this meaningless talk?
  3. "Here is the fate God allots to the wicked, the heritage a ruthless man receives from the Almighty:
  4. However many his children, their fate is the sword; his offspring will never have enough to eat.
  5. The plague will bury those who survive him, and their widows will not weep for them.
  1. 티끌처럼 은전을 쌓아 올리고 흙더미처럼 옷을 쌓아두어도
  2. 그가 쌓아둔 것을 의인이 입고 그의 돈은 죄없는 이가 차지할 것일세.
  3. 아무리 알뜰하게 집을 지어도 고작 거미줄이요, 아무리 살뜰하게 세워도 고작 파수꾼의 초막이라,
  4. 흐뭇하게 여기며 드는 잠자리도 그것으로 마지막이요, 눈을 떴을 때는 이미 돌이킬 수 없는 알거지라네.
  5. 홍수처럼 몰아치는 공포와 밤에 일어나는 폭풍에 쓸려갈 몸,
  1. Though he heaps up silver like dust and clothes like piles of clay,
  2. what he lays up the righteous will wear, and the innocent will divide his silver.
  3. The house he builds is like a moth's cocoon, like a hut made by a watchman.
  4. He lies down wealthy, but will do so no more; when he opens his eyes, all is gone.
  5. Terrors overtake him like a flood; a tempest snatches him away in the night.
  1. 불어오는 열풍에 번쩍 들려 섰던 자리에서 날려갈 신세,
  2. 하느님께서 사정없이 쏘아대시는데 누가 그의 손에서 빠져 나갈 수 있으랴?
  3. 사람들이 손뼉치며 모여오고 휘파람을 불며 몰려오니 쥐구멍을 찾지 않을 수 없으리라.
  1. The east wind carries him off, and he is gone; it sweeps him out of his place.
  2. It hurls itself against him without mercy as he flees headlong from its power.
  3. It claps its hands in derision and hisses him out of his place.
 
 
  1. 은을 캐어내는 광산이 있고 금을 제련하는 제련소가 있지 않는가?
  2. 쇠는 땅에서 파내고 구리는 광석에서 녹여내지 않는가?
  3. 사람은 흑암에 종지부를 찍고 깜깜하고 음침한 데서 광석을 캐내기 위하여 땅 속 깊은 곳을 샅샅이 파헤치며
  4. 인가에서 멀리, 인기척도 없는 곳에 가서 갱을 뚫고 들어가네. 혼자서 대롱대롱 매달리며 극성이구나.
  5. 양식을 내는 땅이건만 벌집 쑤셔놓듯이 뒤범벅을 만들며
  1. "There is a mine for silver and a place where gold is refined.
  2. Iron is taken from the earth, and copper is smelted from ore.
  3. Man puts an end to the darkness; he searches the farthest recesses for ore in the blackest darkness.
  4. Far from where people dwell he cuts a shaft, in places forgotten by the foot of man; far from men he dangles and sways.
  5. The earth, from which food comes, is transformed below as by fire;
  1. 땅 속 바위에서 빛나는 사파이어, 번쩍이는 금가루도 파낸다네.
  2. 거기에 이르는 길은 독수리도 모르며 매의 눈초리도 발견하지 못하고
  3. 야수의 왕자도 밟아본 일 없으며 사자의 발도 닿아본 적이 없네.
  4. 그러나 사람은 단단한 돌산을 기어이 부수고 산들을 뿌리째 파헤치며
  5. 바위를 뚫고 물길을 터 갖가지 보화를 하나도 놓치지 않을 양, 눈에 등불을 켜고
  1. sapphires come from its rocks, and its dust contains nuggets of gold.
  2. No bird of prey knows that hidden path, no falcon's eye has seen it.
  3. Proud beasts do not set foot on it, and no lion prowls there.
  4. Man's hand assaults the flinty rock and lays bare the roots of the mountains.
  5. He tunnels through the rock; his eyes see all its treasures.
  1. 물줄기를 더듬어 샘을 찾아내며 숨은 것들을 활짝 드러내고야 만다네.
  2. 그러나 지혜는 찾을 길 없고 슬기는 만날 길이 없구나.
  3. 만물이 숨을 쉬는 이 땅 위에서 그 길을 찾을 생각일랑 아예 마라.
  4. 물 속의 용이 외친다. "이 속에는 없다." 바다도 부르짖는다. "나에게도 없다."
  5. 순금을 얼마나 주면 얻을 수 있을까! 은을 얼마나 달아주면 살 수 있을까!
  1. He searches the sources of the rivers and brings hidden things to light.
  2. "But where can wisdom be found? Where does understanding dwell?
  3. Man does not comprehend its worth; it cannot be found in the land of the living.
  4. The deep says, 'It is not in me'; the sea says, 'It is not with me.'
  5. It cannot be bought with the finest gold, nor can its price be weighed in silver.
  1. 오빌의 금 따위는 내놓지도 못하고 값진 루비나 사파이어도 그 곁에 둘 수 없네.
  2. 정금이나 유리도 함께 진열할 수 없으며 순금의 세공품으로 바꿀 수도 없네.
  3. 산호나 수정 따위는 말도 안 되는데 지혜를 제쳐놓고 진주를 캐겠는가?
  4. 에티오피아의 토파즈도 가지런히 놓일 수 없으니 금이 아무리 순수하기로서니 어찌 비길 수 있으랴!
  5. 그런 지혜를 어디에 가서 찾겠는가? 그런 슬기를 어디에 가서 만나겠는가?
  1. It cannot be bought with the gold of Ophir, with precious onyx or sapphires.
  2. Neither gold nor crystal can compare with it, nor can it be had for jewels of gold.
  3. Coral and jasper are not worthy of mention; the price of wisdom is beyond rubies.
  4. The topaz of Cush cannot compare with it; it cannot be bought with pure gold.
  5. "Where then does wisdom come from? Where does understanding dwell?
  1. 숨쉬는 동물의 눈에는 도무지 보이지 아니하고 하늘을 나는 새에게조차 숨겨져 있는데
  2. 파멸과 죽음도 말하네. "그런 것이 있다는 것을 풍문으로 들었을 뿐이다."
  3. 그러니 하느님밖에 누가 그 있는 곳을 알며 그 곳으로 가는 길을 찾아내겠는가?
  4. 땅 끝까지 미치는 그의 눈길을 피하여 하늘 아래 무엇을 숨길 수 있으랴!
  5. 바람을 저울로 달아 내보내시며 물을 되로 되어 쏟으시고
  1. It is hidden from the eyes of every living thing, concealed even from the birds of the air.
  2. Destruction and Death say, 'Only a rumor of it has reached our ears.'
  3. God understands the way to it and he alone knows where it dwells,
  4. for he views the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens.
  5. When he established the force of the wind and measured out the waters,
  1. 비가 쏟아져 내릴 홈을 파시며 천둥이 스쳐갈 길을 내셨을 때,
  2. 하느님께서는 지혜를 살피시고 헤아리셨네. 슬기를 세우시고 시험하셨네.
  3. 그리고 사람에게 이르셨네. "주를 두려워하는 것이 곧 지혜요, 악을 싫어하는 것이 곧 슬기다."
  1. when he made a decree for the rain and a path for the thunderstorm,
  2. then he looked at wisdom and appraised it; he confirmed it and tested it.
  3. And he said to man, 'The fear of the Lord--that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.' "
 
 
  1. 욥이 탄식하며 읊조렸다.
  2. 지나간 옛 시절은 영영 돌아오지 않으려나! 하느님께서 지켜주시던 그 날은 끝내 돌아오지 않으려나!
  3. 하느님의 등불이 내 머리 위에서 빛나고 그의 횃불로 어둠을 몰아내며 거닐던 그 날,
  4. 내 나이 한창일 무렵, 하느님께서 나의 천막을 감싸주시던 그 때,
  5. 전능하신 분께서 나를 버리시지 않았고 아이들도 나를 에워 싸며 돌아가던 그 시절,
  1. Job continued his discourse:
  2. "How I long for the months gone by, for the days when God watched over me,
  3. when his lamp shone upon my head and by his light I walked through darkness!
  4. Oh, for the days when I was in my prime, when God's intimate friendship blessed my house,
  5. when the Almighty was still with me and my children were around me,
  1. 나는 우유로 발을 씻었지. 기름이 내가 되어 바위 사이를 흘러내리던 시절,
  2. 내가 성문께로 발을 옮겨 성문 앞 광장에 자리를 잡으면
  3. 젊은이들은 나를 보고 비켜 서고 노인들은 자리를 털고 일어났네.
  4. 양반들은 손으로 입을 가리고 하던 말을 삼켰으며
  5. 귀족들은 입천장에 혀가 붙어 소리를 죽이고
  1. when my path was drenched with cream and the rock poured out for me streams of olive oil.
  2. "When I went to the gate of the city and took my seat in the public square,
  3. the young men saw me and stepped aside and the old men rose to their feet;
  4. the chief men refrained from speaking and covered their mouths with their hands;
  5. the voices of the nobles were hushed, and their tongues stuck to the roof of their mouths.
  1. 귀는 내 이야기를 듣고 찬사를 아끼지 않았으며 눈은 내가 하는 일을 보고 즐겨서 증언하였네.
  2. 도와달라고 아우성치는 빈민들, 의지할 데 없는 고아를 내가 건져주지 않았던가?
  3. 숨을 거두며 하는 마지막 축복은 모두 나에게 쏠렸고 과부의 서러움은 나에게서 기쁨으로 바뀌었네.
  4. 정의가 나의 옷이었으며, 공평이 나의 두루마기요, 나의 면류관이었는데......
  5. 나는 소경에게는 눈이었고 절뚝발이에게는 다리였었지.
  1. Whoever heard me spoke well of me, and those who saw me commended me,
  2. because I rescued the poor who cried for help, and the fatherless who had none to assist him.
  3. The man who was dying blessed me; I made the widow's heart sing.
  4. I put on righteousness as my clothing; justice was my robe and my turban.
  5. I was eyes to the blind and feet to the lame.
  1. 거지들은 나를 아버지로 여겼으며 낯선 사람들도 나에게 와서 억울함을 호소하였네.
  2. 악인의 턱을 때려부수고 그가 물고 있는 것을 이빨 사이에서 빼내기도 하였지.
  3. 그러니 내가 어찌 이런 생각을 하지 않을 것인가? "나는 보금자리와 함께 타버렸다가도 다시 재를 털고 일어나 오래오래 사는 불사조,
  4. 나의 뿌리는 물기를 따라 뻗고 밤새 이슬에 젖은 내 잎사귀는 싱싱하기만 하구나.
  5. 나의 영광은 날로 새롭고 활 잡은 내 손은 결코 맥이 풀리지 않으리라."
  1. I was a father to the needy; I took up the case of the stranger.
  2. I broke the fangs of the wicked and snatched the victims from their teeth.
  3. "I thought, 'I will die in my own house, my days as numerous as the grains of sand.
  4. My roots will reach to the water, and the dew will lie all night on my branches.
  5. My glory will remain fresh in me, the bow ever new in my hand.'
  1. 나의 입술이 떨어지기만 기다리며 나의 의견에 묵묵히 귀를 기울였네.
  2. 내가 말을 마치면 다만 그들은 고개를 끄덕일 뿐, 나의 말은 그들 위에 방울방울 떨어졌지.
  3. 비를 기다리듯이 그들은 나를 기다렸고 입을 벌리고 봄비를 받아 마시듯이 하였네.
  4. 내가 웃기만 해도 그들은 어리둥절하였고 내가 미소만 지어도 으쓱해 하였는데,
  5. 나 윗자리에 앉아 그들의 갈 길을 지시하며 군대를 거느린 제왕처럼 앉아 목메어 우는 사람들을 위로하던 아, 그 시절은 다시 오지 않을 것인가!
  1. "Men listened to me expectantly, waiting in silence for my counsel.
  2. After I had spoken, they spoke no more; my words fell gently on their ears.
  3. They waited for me as for showers and drank in my words as the spring rain.
  4. When I smiled at them, they scarcely believed it; the light of my face was precious to them.
  5. I chose the way for them and sat as their chief; I dwelt as a king among his troops; I was like one who comforts mourners.
