예레미야 23:33-25:38

 하나님께서는 하나님의 말씀을 조소하는 무리들에게 영원한 치욕과 수치가 임하게 될 것을 선포하셨다. 무화과 두 광주리의 비유를 통해, 선한 무화과에 비유된 자들은 바벨론에 포로로 잡혀 갔다가 귀환하게 되지만, 악한 무화과나무에 비유된 자들은 바벨론의 포로가 되는 데 항거하여 이방에 흩어져 멸망될 것임을 보여 주셨다. 또한 유다를 징벌하신 후 바벨론과 이방 열국을 진멸하실 것을 예고하셨다.
  
  거짓 선지자들의 심판(23:33-23:40)    
 
  1. 이 백성이, 또는 예언자나 사제가 너에게 '짐스러운 야훼의 말씀'이 있었느냐고 묻거든 이렇게 대답하여라. '나 야훼가 말한다. 너희가 곧 내 짐이다. 나는 너희를 벗어 던져버리겠다.
  2. 예언자나 사제뿐 아니라 이 백성 누구든지, 야훼의 말씀은 짐스럽다고 말한다면, 바로 그 말을 한 사람과 그의 집을 내가 벌하리라.
  3. 너희는 이웃이나 동기간에 서로, 야훼께서 무엇이라고 대답하셨느냐, 또는 야훼께서 무슨 말씀을 하셨느냐, 하고 물을 것이지,
  4. 야훼의 말씀은 짐스럽다, 하는 말은 입밖에도 내지 말 일이다. 그런 말을 하는 사람은 바로 그 말이 짐이 되리라. 그렇게 말하는 것은 살아 있는 이 하느님의 말, 저희들의 하느님 만군의 주 야훼의 말을 뒤엎는 것이다.
  5. 그러니 예언자에게 물을 때에는, 야훼께서 무엇이라고 대답하셨소, 또는 야훼께서 무슨 말씀을 하셨소, 하고 물어라.
  1. "When these people, or a prophet or a priest, ask you, 'What is the oracle of the LORD ?' say to them, 'What oracle? I will forsake you, declares the LORD.'
  2. If a prophet or a priest or anyone else claims, 'This is the oracle of the LORD,' I will punish that man and his household.
  3. This is what each of you keeps on saying to his friend or relative: 'What is the LORD's answer?' or 'What has the LORD spoken?'
  4. But you must not mention 'the oracle of the LORD ' again, because every man's own word becomes his oracle and so you distort the words of the living God, the LORD Almighty, our God.
  5. This is what you keep saying to a prophet: 'What is the LORD's answer to you?' or 'What has the LORD spoken?'
  1. 그렇지 않고서, 야훼의 말씀은 짐스럽다, 하는 말을 쓴다면, 내가 똑똑히 일러둔다, 야훼의 말씀은 짐스럽다는 말을 쓰지 말라고 일렀는데도, 야훼의 말씀은 짐스럽다는 말을 쓴다면,
  2. 나는 너희를 번쩍 들어 내던지리라. 선조 때부터 너희에게 주었던 이 성읍도 내 눈에 보이지 않게 멀리 치워버리리라.
  3. 영원히 잊을 수 없는 수치와 창피를 당하게 하리라."
  1. Although you claim, 'This is the oracle of the LORD,' this is what the LORD says: You used the words, 'This is the oracle of the LORD,' even though I told you that you must not claim, 'This is the oracle of the LORD.'
  2. Therefore, I will surely forget you and cast you out of my presence along with the city I gave to you and your fathers.
  3. I will bring upon you everlasting disgrace--everlasting shame that will not be forgotten."
 
  무화과 두 광주리의 비유(24:1-24:10)    
 
  1. 바빌론 왕 느부갓네살이 유다 왕 여호야긴을 비롯하여 유다의 고관들과 은장이, 대장장이들을 예루살렘에서 사로잡아 바빌론으로 데려간 뒤였다. 하루는 야훼의 성전 앞에 무화과 바구니 두 개가 놓여 있는 것을 야훼께서 나에게 보여주셨다.
  2. 한 바구니에는 맏물처럼 썩 좋은 무화과가 담겨져 있었고, 다른 바구니에는 먹을 수 없이 썩은 무화과가 담겨져 있었다.
  3. "예레미야야, 무엇이 보이느냐?" 하고 야훼께서 나에게 물으셨다. 나는 "무화과가 보입니다. 좋은 무화과는 무척 좋은데 나쁜 무화과는 먹을 수 없이 썩어버렸습니다." 하고 대답하였다. 그랬더니
  4. 야훼께서 나에게 말씀하셨다.
  5. "나 야훼가 이스라엘의 하느님으로서 말한다. 나는 유다 사람들을 이 곳에서 바빌론 땅으로 포로가 되어 끌려가게 하겠다. 그러나 나는 그들을 이 좋은 무화과처럼 잘 돌보아 주리라.
  1. After Jehoiachin son of Jehoiakim king of Judah and the officials, the craftsmen and the artisans of Judah were carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, the LORD showed me two baskets of figs placed in front of the temple of the LORD.
  2. One basket had very good figs, like those that ripen early; the other basket had very poor figs, so bad they could not be eaten.
  3. Then the LORD asked me, "What do you see, Jeremiah?" "Figs," I answered. "The good ones are very good, but the poor ones are so bad they cannot be eaten."
  4. Then the word of the LORD came to me:
  5. "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'Like these good figs, I regard as good the exiles from Judah, whom I sent away from this place to the land of the Babylonians.
  1. 잘 보살펴 이 지방으로 돌아오게 하리라. 헐지 않고 세우며, 뽑지 않고 심으리라.
  2. 나를 알아보는 마음을 주어, 이런 일을 하는 것이 나 야훼인 줄 알게 하겠다. 그리하면 이 백성이 진심으로 나에게 돌아와 내 백성이 되고 나도 그들의 하느님이 되리라.
  3. 그러나 유다 왕 시드키야와 그의 고관들, 그리고 예루살렘에서 살아 남은 자들 가운데 국내에 남아 있는 자나 이집트로 망명한 자는 썩어서 먹지 못할 무화과같이 만들겠다. 나 야훼가 선언한다.
  4. 이 백성에게 재앙을 내려 세상 만국이 보고 놀라 넘어지게 하겠다. 세계 방방곡곡으로 쫓겨다니며 사람들에게 욕을 먹고 희롱거리 조롱거리가 되게 하겠다.
  5. 전쟁과 기근과 염병으로 쳐서 모두 없애버리고, 선조 때부터 살도록 내어준 이 땅에 하나도 남아 있지 못하게 하리라."
  1. My eyes will watch over them for their good, and I will bring them back to this land. I will build them up and not tear them down; I will plant them and not uproot them.
  2. I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the LORD. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart.
  3. " 'But like the poor figs, which are so bad they cannot be eaten,' says the LORD, 'so will I deal with Zedekiah king of Judah, his officials and the survivors from Jerusalem, whether they remain in this land or live in Egypt.
  4. I will make them abhorrent and an offense to all the kingdoms of the earth, a reproach and a byword, an object of ridicule and cursing, wherever I banish them.
  5. I will send the sword, famine and plague against them until they are destroyed from the land I gave to them and their fathers.' "
 
  바벨론 포로와 열방의 심판(25:1-25:38)    
 
  1. 요시야의 아들 유다 왕 여호야킴 제사년, 바빌론 왕 느부갓네살 제일년에 있었던 일이다. 그 해에 예레미야는 유다 온 백성에게 일러줄 말씀을 받았다.
  2. 예언자 예레미야는 그 말씀을 유다 온 백성과 예루살렘 온 시민에게 이렇게 전하였다.
  3. "아몬의 아들 요시야가 유다 왕위에 오른 지 십삼 년 되던 해로부터 이 날에 이르기까지 나는 야훼의 말씀을 받아 이십삼 년을 하루같이 전하였지만 너희는 듣지 않았다.
  4. 야훼께서는 당신의 종 예언자들을 거듭거듭 보내셨지만 너희는 역시 듣지 않았다. 그 말을 귓전으로 흘리며 들으려 하지 않았다.
  5. 그들은 너희에게 이렇게 전하였다. '너희들은 모두 그 그릇된 길을 버리며, 악한 짓을 더 이상 하지 말고 돌아오너라. 그래야만 이 야훼가 너희 조상에게 대대로 살라고 준 땅에서 길이길이 살 수 있으리라.
  1. The word came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, which was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.
  2. So Jeremiah the prophet said to all the people of Judah and to all those living in Jerusalem:
  3. For twenty-three years--from the thirteenth year of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah until this very day--the word of the LORD has come to me and I have spoken to you again and again, but you have not listened.
  4. And though the LORD has sent all his servants the prophets to you again and again, you have not listened or paid any attention.
  5. They said, "Turn now, each of you, from your evil ways and your evil practices, and you can stay in the land the LORD gave to you and your fathers for ever and ever.
  1. 다른 신들을 받들어 섬기며 예배하면 안 된다. 너희의 손으로 만든 우상을 섬겨서 나의 분통을 터뜨려 재앙을 받지 않도록 하여라.
  2. 나 야훼가 말한다. 너희는 나의 말을 듣지 않고, 너희의 손으로 만든 우상을 섬겼으므로 나의 분통을 터뜨려 재앙을 당하고야 말았다.'
  3. 그래도 듣지 않으니 이제 만군의 야훼께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. '너희가 내 말을 듣지 않았기 때문에
  4. 나는 내 종 바빌론 왕 느부갓네살을 시켜 북녘의 모든 족속들을 거느리고 쳐들어와 이 땅에 사는 사람들과 주위에 있는 모든 민족을 전멸시키고 이 땅을 영원히 쑥밭으로 만들게 하리라. 사람마다 그 끔찍한 모습을 보고 빈정거리리라. 이는 내 말이라, 어김이 없다.
  5. 기뻐서 노래하며 흥겹게 노는 소리도, 즐거운 신랑 신부의 소리도, 맷돌질 소리도 더 이상 나지 않으리라. 다시는 등불이 켜지지 않으리라.
  1. Do not follow other gods to serve and worship them; do not provoke me to anger with what your hands have made. Then I will not harm you."
  2. "But you did not listen to me," declares the LORD, "and you have provoked me with what your hands have made, and you have brought harm to yourselves."
  3. Therefore the LORD Almighty says this: "Because you have not listened to my words,
  4. I will summon all the peoples of the north and my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon," declares the LORD, "and I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants and against all the surrounding nations. I will completely destroy them and make them an object of horror and scorn, and an everlasting ruin.
  5. I will banish from them the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, the sound of millstones and the light of the lamp.
  1. 이 일대는 끔찍한 폐허가 되고 여기에 살던 민족들은 모두 칠십 년 동안 바빌론 왕의 종노릇을 할 것이다.
  2. 그 칠십 년이란 시한이 차면 나는 바빌론 왕과 그 민족의 죄를 벌하여 바빌론 땅을 영원히 쑥밭으로 만들리라. 이는 내 말이라, 어김이 없다.
  3. 나는 이미 선언해 두었던 벌을 그 땅에 내리리라. 뭇 민족이 받으리라고 예레미야가 예언한 벌을 이 책에 기록되어 있는 그대로 그 땅에 내리리라.
  4. 그리하여 이번에는 바빌론 사람들이 도리어 남의 종이 되리라. 뭇 강대국의 대왕들을 섬기게 되리라. 이렇게 나는 바빌론 사람들이 한 짓들도 그대로 갚아주리라.'"
  5. 이스라엘의 하느님 야훼께서 나에게 말씀하셨다. "나의 분노가 흘러 넘치는 이 잔을 받아라. 내가 너를 뭇 민족에게 파견한다. 너는 이 잔을 모든 민족에게 주어 마시게 하여라.
  1. This whole country will become a desolate wasteland, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
  2. "But when the seventy years are fulfilled, I will punish the king of Babylon and his nation, the land of the Babylonians, for their guilt," declares the LORD, "and will make it desolate forever.
  3. I will bring upon that land all the things I have spoken against it, all that are written in this book and prophesied by Jeremiah against all the nations.
  4. They themselves will be enslaved by many nations and great kings; I will repay them according to their deeds and the work of their hands."
  5. This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, said to me: "Take from my hand this cup filled with the wine of my wrath and make all the nations to whom I send you drink it.
  1. 내가 일으킨 싸움이 한창인데도 사람들은 이 술을 마시고 정신없는 사람처럼 비틀거릴 것이다."
  2. 나는 야훼의 손에서 그 잔을 받아, 야훼의 명령을 따라 모든 민족에게 주어 마시게 하였다.
  3. 우선 예루살렘과 유다 온 성읍의 시민들, 그리고 유다 왕과 고관들이 마셨다. 그래서 오늘날 저렇게 폐허가 되어 사람들이 그 끔찍한 모습을 보고 빈정거리며 조롱하게 되었다.
  4. 그 다음에는 이집트 왕 파라오와 그 신하들과 고관들과 국민과
  5. 붙어 사는 이민족들, 우스 땅 모든 왕들, 불레셋 땅 모든 왕들과 아스클론과 가자와 에크론 시민과 살아 남은 아스돗 시민,
  1. When they drink it, they will stagger and go mad because of the sword I will send among them."
  2. So I took the cup from the LORD's hand and made all the nations to whom he sent me drink it:
  3. Jerusalem and the towns of Judah, its kings and officials, to make them a ruin and an object of horror and scorn and cursing, as they are today;
  4. Pharaoh king of Egypt, his attendants, his officials and all his people,
  5. and all the foreign people there; all the kings of Uz; all the kings of the Philistines (those of Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the people left at Ashdod
  1. 에돔과 모압과 암몬 백성들,
  2. 띠로의 모든 왕들과 시돈의 모든 왕들과 지중해 건너 해안 지방의 모든 왕들,
  3. 드단과 데마와 부즈 성 시민들과 구레나룻을 깎은 모든 족속들,
  4. 사막에 사는 아랍족의 모든 왕들,
  5. 지므리의 모든 왕들, 엘람의 모든 왕들, 메대의 모든 왕들,
  1. Edom, Moab and Ammon;
  2. all the kings of Tyre and Sidon; the kings of the coastlands across the sea;
  3. Dedan, Tema, Buz and all who are in distant places ;
  4. all the kings of Arabia and all the kings of the foreign people who live in the desert;
  5. all the kings of Zimri, Elam and Media;
  1. 북녘에 있는 원근 각처의 모든 왕들에게 주었다. 세상 모든 나라 사람들에게 주어 차례차례로 마시게 하였다. 마지막으로는 세삭 왕에게 주어 마시게 하였다.
  2. "너는 이스라엘의 하느님 만군의 야훼가 하는 말이라고 하며 그 민족들에게 일러라. '내가 일으킨 싸움이 한창일 때, 너희는 취해서 토하고 쓰러져 일어나지 못하도록 마셔라.'
  3. 그 잔을 너의 손에서 받아 마시려 하지 않거든, 너는 이렇게 일러주어라. '이 만군의 야훼가 말한다. 너희는 이것을 마시지 않을 수 없다.
  4. 보이지 않느냐? 내 이름으로 불리는 저 성읍부터 재앙을 받는 판국에 너희들이 벌을 면하겠다는 거냐? 온 세상이 전쟁에 휘말려 들어가게 되었는데, 너희라고 그 벌을 면하겠느냐? 이는 나 만군의 야훼가 하는 말이니, 어김이 없다.'
  5. 나의 이 모든 말을 그 민족들에게 전하여 일러라. '야훼께서 저 높은 곳에서 사자처럼 고함치신다. 당신의 거룩한 처소에서 천둥 소리를 내신다. 당신의 목장에 대고 큰소리로 으르렁거리시면 적군을 짓밟는 군대의 함성이 메아리쳐 온다. 세상 만민이 모두 듣도록
  1. and all the kings of the north, near and far, one after the other--all the kingdoms on the face of the earth. And after all of them, the king of Sheshach will drink it too.
  2. "Then tell them, 'This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Drink, get drunk and vomit, and fall to rise no more because of the sword I will send among you.'
  3. But if they refuse to take the cup from your hand and drink, tell them, 'This is what the LORD Almighty says: You must drink it!
  4. See, I am beginning to bring disaster on the city that bears my Name, and will you indeed go unpunished? You will not go unpunished, for I am calling down a sword upon all who live on the earth, declares the LORD Almighty.'
  5. "Now prophesy all these words against them and say to them: " 'The LORD will roar from on high; he will thunder from his holy dwelling and roar mightily against his land. He will shout like those who tread the grapes, shout against all who live on the earth.
  1. 땅 끝까지 울린다. 만민이 야훼의 법정에 불려나와 재판을 받는데, 죄있는 사람들은 모두 칼로 처형을 당하리라. 이는 내 말이라, 어김이 없다.
  2. 나 만군의 야훼가 말한다. 한 민족 한 민족 차례로 재앙을 당하리라. 거센 폭풍이 사방 땅 끝에서 터져나온다.
  3. 그 날이 오면 땅 이 끝에서 저 끝까지 야훼의 손에 죽은 시체들이 너저분하게 굴러다니리라. 거두어 묻어주며 장사지내 줄 사람이 없어 거름더미처럼 땅 위에 널리게 되리라.
  4. 백성의 목자, 민중의 우두머리들아, 땅에 주저앉아 아우성치며 울부짖어라. 너희가 학살당할 날이 오고야 말았다. 너희는 숫양들처럼 흩어지며 쓰러지리라.
  5. 백성의 목자, 민중의 우두머리들아, 너희가 도망쳐도 난을 면하지 못하리라.
  1. The tumult will resound to the ends of the earth, for the LORD will bring charges against the nations; he will bring judgment on all mankind and put the wicked to the sword,' " declares the LORD.
  2. This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Look! Disaster is spreading from nation to nation; a mighty storm is rising from the ends of the earth."
  3. At that time those slain by the LORD will be everywhere--from one end of the earth to the other. They will not be mourned or gathered up or buried, but will be like refuse lying on the ground.
  4. Weep and wail, you shepherds; roll in the dust, you leaders of the flock. For your time to be slaughtered has come; you will fall and be shattered like fine pottery.
  5. The shepherds will have nowhere to flee, the leaders of the flock no place to escape.
  1. 백성의 목자, 민중의 우두머리들아, 아우성치며 울부짖는 소리가 나는구나. 야훼께서 목장을 휩쓰셨기 때문이다.
  2. 야훼께서 분노를 터뜨리시자 번성하던 목장이 쥐죽은 듯 적막하게 되었구나.
  3. 사자가 굴을 버리고 떠나듯 야훼께서 당신 백성을 떠나셨기 때문이다. 야훼께서 분노를 터뜨리시어 전쟁을 일으키시자 이 백성의 땅이 이토록 끔찍하게 되었구나.'"
  1. Hear the cry of the shepherds, the wailing of the leaders of the flock, for the LORD is destroying their pasture.
  2. The peaceful meadows will be laid waste because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
  3. Like a lion he will leave his lair, and their land will become desolate because of the sword of the oppressor and because of the LORD's fierce anger.
 
  세삭( 25:26)  ‘바벨론’을 지칭하는 암호적인 이름. 심판이란 의미가 담겨 있음  
  염습(殮襲, 25:33)  죽은 사람의 몸을 씻고 옷을 입히는 일
