- 어린 자녀들이여, 마지막 때가 왔습니다. 여러분은 그리스도의 적이 오리라는 말을 들어왔는데 벌써 그리스도의 적들이 많이 나타났습니다. 그러니 마지막 때가 왔다는 것이 분명합니다.
- 이런 자들은 본래 우리의 사람들이 아니었기 때문에 우리에게서 떨어져 나갔습니다. 만일 그들이 우리의 사람들이었다면 우리와 함께 그대로 남아 있었을 것입니다. 그러나 결국 그들은 우리에게서 떨어져 나갔고 그것으로 그들이 우리의 사람이 아니라는 것이 분명히 드러났습니다.
- 그러나 여러분은 그 거룩하신 분에게서 성령을 받았습니다. 그러므로 여러분은 모두 참된 지식을 가지고 있습니다.
- 내가 이렇게 여러분에게 편지를 써 보내는 것은 여러분이 진리를 몰라서가 아니라 진리를 알고 있기 때문이고 또 진리로부터 거짓말이 결코 나오지 않는다는 것도 알고 있기 때문입니다.
- 누가 거짓말쟁이입니까? 예수께서 그리스도시라는 것을 부인하는 사람이 아니겠습니까? 이런 사람이 곧 그리스도의 적이며 아버지와 아들을 부인하는 자입니다.

- Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour.
- They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.
- But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.
- I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth.
- Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist--he denies the Father and the Son.

- 누구든지 아들을 부인하는 사람은 아버지까지도 부인하며 그와 반대로 아들을 인정하는 사람은 아버지까지도 인정합니다.
- 여러분이 처음부터 들어온 것을 마음속에 간직하십시오. 여러분이 처음부터 들어온 것이 여러분의 마음속에 살아 있으면 여러분은 아들과 아버지와 함께 살게 될 것입니다.
- 이것이 바로 그리스도께서 친히 우리에게 약속해 주신 영원한 생명입니다.
- 나는 여러분을 속이는 자들에 관해서 지금까지 썼습니다.
- 그러나 여러분으로 말하자면 그리스도께서 부어주신 성령이 여러분의 마음속에 살아 계시는 한, 아무에게도 가르침을 받을 필요가 없습니다. 그리스도께서 부어주신 성령은 여러분에게 모든 것을 가르쳐주십니다. 그리고 그분은 진실하셔서 거짓말을 하지 않습니다. 여러분은 그 성령께서 가르쳐주신 대로 그리스도와 함께 살아가시오.

- No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
- See that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father.
- And this is what he promised us--even eternal life.
- I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray.
- As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit--just as it has taught you, remain in him.

- 그러므로 사랑하는 나의 자녀인 여러분은 그리스도와 함께 살아가시오. 그러면 그리스도께서 다시 오시는 날 우리가 자신을 갖게 되고 다시 오시는 그분에게 부끄러움을 당하지 않을 것입니다.
- 여러분은 그분이 의로운 분이시라는 것을 알고 있습니다. 그리고 옳은 일을 하는 사람은 다 하느님께로부터 난 사람이라는 것을 알아야 합니다.

- And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming.
- If you know that he is righteous, you know that everyone who does what is right has been born of him.
