하박국

  하박국이 활동하던 시기는 유다 왕국이 위기에 처해 있을 때였다. 당시 유다는 국외적으로는 강대국 바벨론 침략 위협을 받고 있었으며, 국내적으로는 종교적, 도적적 타락으로 절망적인 상태에 있었다. 이러한 때에 하박국은 유다에 남은 경건한 사람들을 위로하고 ‘의인은 오직 믿음으로 산다.’고 외쳤다. 이는 기독교 구원론의 근간을 마련한 것이기도 하다.

  본서는 하나님과 하박국 선지자가 나눈 개인적인 대화와 예언적 계시에 초첨을 맞추고 있다. 본서에는 하나님의 주권의 확실성이 표현되어 있으며, 의인을 향한 하나님의 사랑과 악한 바벨론을 멸하시려는 하나님의 의도가 잘 나타나 있다.

 

 

하박국 1:1-3:19

 죄악이 관영한 남유다를 공의의 하나님께서 왜 징계치 않으시는가를 질문한 하박국에게 갈대아를 심판의 도구로 삼아 그들을 심판하시겠다는 하나님의 응답이 주어졌다. 이어 하박국이 왜 유다보다 더 패역한 이방을 사용하여 유다를 심판하시는지를 다시 묻자, 하나님께서는 유다의 심판 도구인 바벨론도 결국에는 심판과 멸망을 당하리라고 말씀하셨다. 이에 하박국은 하나님의 구원을 찬양했다.
  
  공의의 하나님(1:1-3:19)    
 
  1. 예언자 하바꾹이 환상으로 받은 말씀.
  2. "야훼여, 살려달라고 울부짖는 이 소리, 언제 들어주시렵니까? 호소하는 이 억울한 일, 언제 풀어주시렵니까?
  3. 어인 일로 이렇듯이 애매한 일을 당하게 하시고 이 고생살이를 못 본 체하십니까? 보이느니 약탈과 억압뿐이요, 터지느니 시비와 말다툼뿐입니다.
  4. 법은 땅에 떨어지고 정의는 끝내 무너졌습니다. 못된 자들이 착한 사람을 등쳐먹는 세상, 정의가 짓밟히는 세상이 되었습니다."
  5. "이 반역하는 무리들아, 똑똑히 보아라. 너희 생전에 놀라 질겁할 일이 벌어지리라. 귀를 의심할 만한 일이 일어나리라.
  1. The oracle that Habakkuk the prophet received.
  2. How long, O LORD, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, "Violence!" but you do not save?
  3. Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrong? Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and conflict abounds.
  4. Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails. The wicked hem in the righteous, so that justice is perverted.
  5. "Look at the nations and watch-- and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.
  1. 보아라, 내가 바빌론을 일으키리니 그들은 사납고 날랜 족속이라, 남의 보금자리를 빼앗으며 천하를 주름잡는다.
  2. 제 힘을 믿고 멋대로 법을 세우는 무섭고도 영악한 족속이다.
  3. 표범보다도 날래고 저녁에 나오는 늑대보다도 사나운 말을 탄 기병들이 먼 곳으로부터 먹이를 찾아 덮치는 독수리같이
  4. 닥치는 대로 휩쓸려고 전군을 휘몰아온다. 얼굴마다 열풍 같은 노기를 띠고 포로들을 끌어다 모랫더미처럼 쌓는다.
  5. 고관쯤은 우습게 여기고 임금은 노리개로 삼으며, 그 어떤 성채건 하찮게 여기고 토성을 쌓아 점령하리니
  1. I am raising up the Babylonians, that ruthless and impetuous people, who sweep across the whole earth to seize dwelling places not their own.
  2. They are a feared and dreaded people; they are a law to themselves and promote their own honor.
  3. Their horses are swifter than leopards, fiercer than wolves at dusk. Their cavalry gallops headlong; their horsemen come from afar. They fly like a vulture swooping to devour;
  4. they all come bent on violence. Their hordes advance like a desert wind and gather prisoners like sand.
  5. They deride kings and scoff at rulers. They laugh at all fortified cities; they build earthen ramps and capture them.
  1. 제 힘을 하느님처럼 믿다가 죄를 지은 자들은 바람에 날려가듯 사라지리라."
  2. "야훼여, 당신께서는 애초부터 나의 하느님, 이 몸은 하느님의 것인데, 죽을 리야 있겠습니까? 그러나 야훼여, 어찌하여 그들을 재판관으로 세우셨습니까? 나의 바위여, 어찌하여 그들을 채찍으로 삼아 벌하십니까?
  3. 주께서는 눈이 맑으시어 남을 못살게 구는 못된 자들을 그대로 보아 넘기지 않으시면서 어찌 배신자들은 못 본 체하십니까? 나쁜 자들이 착한 사람을 때려잡는데 잠자코 계십니까?
  4. 어찌하여 사람을 바다 고기로 만드시고 왕초 없는 벌레로 만드시어
  5. 그자들의 낚시에 걸리게 하십니까? 그물을 쳐서 사람을 끌어내고 좽이로 사람을 잡아내고는 좋아 날뛰며
  1. Then they sweep past like the wind and go on-- guilty men, whose own strength is their god."
  2. O LORD, are you not from everlasting? My God, my Holy One, we will not die. O LORD, you have appointed them to execute judgment; O Rock, you have ordained them to punish.
  3. Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrong. Why then do you tolerate the treacherous? Why are you silent while the wicked swallow up those more righteous than themselves?
  4. You have made men like fish in the sea, like sea creatures that have no ruler.
  5. The wicked foe pulls all of them up with hooks, he catches them in his net, he gathers them up in his dragnet; and so he rejoices and is glad.
  1. 그물 덕분에 기름지고 살진 것을 먹는다고 그물에다 고사를 지내고 좽이에다 분향하는 자들입니다.
  2. 그 모양으로 늘 칼을 빼어들고 무자비하게 뭇 민족을 죽이는 자들입니다."
  1. Therefore he sacrifices to his net and burns incense to his dragnet, for by his net he lives in luxury and enjoys the choicest food.
  2. Is he to keep on emptying his net, destroying nations without mercy?
 
 
  1. "내가 던진 질문에 무슨 말로 대답하실지 내 초소에 버티고 서서 기다려보리라. 눈에 불을 켜고 망대에 서서 기다려보리라." 하였더니
  2. 야훼께서 이렇게 대답하셨다. "네가 받은 말을 누구나 알아보도록 판에 새겨두어라.
  3. 네가 본 일은 때가 되면 이루어진다. 끝날은 반드시 찾아온다. 쉬 오지 않더라도 기다려라. 기어이 오고야 만다.
  4. 멋대로 설치지 마라. 나는 그런 사람을 옳게 여기지 않는다. 그러나 의로운 사람은 그의 신실함으로써 살리라."
  5. 재물은 조금도 믿을 것이 못 된다. 돈이 있다고 우쭐대다가는 나둥그러지리라. 목구멍은 죽음의 구렁처럼 삼켜도 삼켜도 성차지 않아 뭇 민족을 끌어들이고 만백성을 모아들였건만,
  1. I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint.
  2. Then the LORD replied: "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.
  3. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.
  4. "See, he is puffed up; his desires are not upright-- but the righteous will live by his faith -
  5. indeed, wine betrays him; he is arrogant and never at rest. Because he is as greedy as the grave and like death is never satisfied, he gathers to himself all the nations and takes captive all the peoples.
  1. 그들이 모두 풍자시로 비웃으며 조롱하는 시로 욕설을 퍼부으리라. "화를 입으리라! 남의 것을 먼지까지 긁어 모으고 남의 것을 전당잡아 치부하는 것들아,
  2. 빚쟁이들이 갑자기 달려들 날이 오리라. 너에게 시달리던 자들이 머리를 쳐들고 너를 털 날이 오고야 말리라.
  3. 그토록 수많은 백성을 털었으니, 그 남은 백성에게 이제는 너희가 털리리라. 죄없는 사람을 죽이고 마을을 짓밟고 성읍마다 쳐들어가 주민들을 무찌른 탓이다.
  4. 화를 입으리라. 저만 잘 살겠다고 남을 등쳐먹는 것들아, 재앙의 소용돌이에서 벗어나려고 높은 곳에 둥지를 틀었지만
  5. 너희가 꾸민 것은 패가망신할 일뿐, 뭇 백성을 망치다가 죄를 받게 되었다.
  1. "Will not all of them taunt him with ridicule and scorn, saying, " 'Woe to him who piles up stolen goods and makes himself wealthy by extortion! How long must this go on?'
  2. Will not your debtors suddenly arise? Will they not wake up and make you tremble? Then you will become their victim.
  3. Because you have plundered many nations, the peoples who are left will plunder you. For you have shed man's blood; you have destroyed lands and cities and everyone in them.
  4. "Woe to him who builds his realm by unjust gain to set his nest on high, to escape the clutches of ruin!
  5. You have plotted the ruin of many peoples, shaming your own house and forfeiting your life.
  1. 담벼락 돌이 원수갚아 달라고 울부짖으면, 집 안에선 들보가 맞장구치리라.
  2. 화를 입으리라. 죄없는 사람의 피를 빨아 성읍을 세우는 것들아, 남의 진액을 짜서 성을 쌓는 것들아,
  3. 뭇 민족이 일껏 쌓은 것이 불타버리고 뭇 종족이 애써 세운 것이 허사가 되리니 이것이 바로 만군의 야훼께서 하시는 일 아니냐?
  4. 바다에 물이 넘실거리듯, 땅 위에는 야훼의 영광을 모르는 사람이 없으리라.
  5. 화를 입으리라. 홧김에 이웃에게 술을 퍼먹여 곯아떨어지게 하고는 그 알몸을 헤쳐보는 것들아,
  1. The stones of the wall will cry out, and the beams of the woodwork will echo it.
  2. "Woe to him who builds a city with bloodshed and establishes a town by crime!
  3. Has not the LORD Almighty determined that the people's labor is only fuel for the fire, that the nations exhaust themselves for nothing?
  4. For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
  5. "Woe to him who gives drink to his neighbors, pouring it from the wineskin till they are drunk, so that he can gaze on their naked bodies.
  1. 그러고도 네가 영광을 누릴 듯싶으냐? 실컷 능욕이나 당하리라. 이제는 네가 잔을 받을 차례다. 마시고 벌거숭이가 될 차례다. 야훼의 오른손에 들린 잔이 너에게 이르렀다. 영광을 누린 그만큼 창피를 당하리라.
  2. 레바논을 내리친 그 힘이 너를 휩쓸겠고 짐승들을 살육하던 그 무서움이 너를 덮치리라. 죄없는 사람을 죽이고 마을을 짓밟고 성읍마다 쳐들어가 주민들을 무찌른 탓이다.
  3. 그런 우상을 새겨 무슨 덕이라도 볼 성싶으냐? 말 못하는 허수아비를 만들어놓고 무슨 이익이라도 볼 성싶으냐?"
  4. 화를 입으리라! 나뭇조각을 보고 '일어나십시오.' 하며 말 못하는 돌멩이를 보고 '그만 주무십시오.' 하는 자들아, 그런 것에게서 무엇을 배우겠다는 말이냐? 금과 은으로 싸고 꾸렸지만, 가슴에는 숨기도 없는 것,
  5. 야훼께서 당신의 거룩한 전에 계신다. 온 세상은 그의 앞에서 잠잠하여라.
  1. You will be filled with shame instead of glory. Now it is your turn! Drink and be exposed ! The cup from the LORD's right hand is coming around to you, and disgrace will cover your glory.
  2. The violence you have done to Lebanon will overwhelm you, and your destruction of animals will terrify you. For you have shed man's blood; you have destroyed lands and cities and everyone in them.
  3. "Of what value is an idol, since a man has carved it? Or an image that teaches lies? For he who makes it trusts in his own creation; he makes idols that cannot speak.
  4. Woe to him who says to wood, 'Come to life!' Or to lifeless stone, 'Wake up!' Can it give guidance? It is covered with gold and silver; there is no breath in it.
  5. But the LORD is in his holy temple; let all the earth be silent before him."
 
 
  1. 예언자 하바꾹의 기도. 만가조로 읊을 것.
  2. 야훼여, 우리가 당신의 명성을 들었습니다. 우리는 야훼께서 하신 일을 보았습니다. 우리 시대에도 그 일을 보여주십시오. 아무리 노여우셔도, 잊지 마시고 자비를 베풀어주십시오.
  3. 하느님께서 데만에서 오신다. 거룩하신 이가 바란 산에서 오신다. (셀라) 하늘엔 당신의 빛이 찬란하게 퍼지고 땅엔 당신의 광채가 차고 넘치니
  4. 그 밝음은 대낮 같구나. 힘있는 당신의 손, 두 줄기 빛이 그 손에서 뻗어나네.
  5. 역신이 앞장서고 열병이 뒤따르는구나.

  2. LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O LORD. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.
  3. God came from Teman, the Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah His glory covered the heavens and his praise filled the earth.
  4. His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden.
  5. Plague went before him; pestilence followed his steps.
  1. 발길을 멈추시면 땅이 흔들리고 노려보시면 민족들이 떠네. 한 옛날 산들이 갈라지고 태곳적 언덕들이 주저앉아 아득한 행차 길이 열렸구나.
  2. 떨며 흩날리는 구산의 천막들과 펄럭이는 미디안의 장막 휘장들이 이 어려움 가운데서 보이네.
  3. 야훼여, 어찌하여 우리 물귀신에게 화를 내십니까? 우리 바다 귀신들에게 분풀이를 하십니까? 어인 일로 병거를 타고 말을 몰아 우리를 쳐부수시러 오십니까?
  4. 어인 일로 활을 꺼내어 살을 메우시고 힘껏 잡아당기십니까? (셀라) 노여움으로 땅을 가르시니
  5. 멧부리들은 당신을 보고 부르르 떱니다. 먹구름은 물을 퍼부으며 깊은 바다는 손을 높이 들고 아우성칩니다.
  1. He stood, and shook the earth; he looked, and made the nations tremble. The ancient mountains crumbled and the age-old hills collapsed. His ways are eternal.
  2. I saw the tents of Cushan in distress, the dwellings of Midian in anguish.
  3. Were you angry with the rivers, O LORD ? Was your wrath against the streams? Did you rage against the sea when you rode with your horses and your victorious chariots?
  4. You uncovered your bow, you called for many arrows. Selah You split the earth with rivers;
  5. the mountains saw you and writhed. Torrents of water swept by; the deep roared and lifted its waves on high.
  1. 번쩍이며 화살을 쏘시고 시퍼런 창을 내던지시면, 해는 뜨지도 못하고 달은 반공에 멎습니다.
  2. 주께서는 크게 노하시어 땅을 주름잡으시며 분노로써 뭇 민족을 밟으십니다.
  3. 주께서는 주의 백성을, 친히 기름 부으신 자를 구하러 거둥하셨습니다. 악인의 소굴을 짓부수시고 그 기초를 송두리째 뽑아버리셨습니다. (셀라)
  4. 그의 전사들의 우두머리를 몽치로 치시자 졸개들은 검불처럼 흩어집니다. 눈에 쌍심지를 켜고 가련한 사람들을 널름널름 집어삼키다가 날려갑니다.
  5. 주께서 말을 타고 바다 위를 달리시니 바다 큰 물결이 들끓습니다.
  1. Sun and moon stood still in the heavens at the glint of your flying arrows, at the lightning of your flashing spear.
  2. In wrath you strode through the earth and in anger you threshed the nations.
  3. You came out to deliver your people, to save your anointed one. You crushed the leader of the land of wickedness, you stripped him from head to foot. Selah
  4. With his own spear you pierced his head when his warriors stormed out to scatter us, gloating as though about to devour the wretched who were in hiding.
  5. You trampled the sea with your horses, churning the great waters.
  1. 그 소리를 듣고 나의 뱃속이 뒤틀립니다. 입술이 떨리고 뼛속이 녹아내리며 아랫도리가 후들거립니다. 우리를 덮쳐오던 백성에게 재앙이 떨어지는 날만 나는 기다리고 있습니다.
  2. 비록 무화과는 아니 열리고 포도는 달리지 않고 올리브 농사는 망하고 밭곡식은 나지 않아도 비록, 우리에 있던 양떼는 간데없고 목장에는 소떼가 보이지 않아도
  3. 나는 야훼 안에서 환성을 올리렵니다. 나를 구원하신 하느님 안에서 기뻐 뛰렵니다.
  4. 야훼 나의 주께서 힘이 되어주시고 사슴처럼 날랜 다리를 주시어 나로 하여금 산등성이를 마구 치닫게 하십니다.합창대 지휘자를 따라 수금에 맞추어 부를 것.
  1. I heard and my heart pounded, my lips quivered at the sound; decay crept into my bones, and my legs trembled. Yet I will wait patiently for the day of calamity to come on the nation invading us.
  2. Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls,
  3. yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior.
  4. The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights. For the director of music. On my stringed instruments.
