- 예수께서 성전을 떠나 나오실 때에 제자 한 사람이 "선생님, 저것 보십시오. 저 돌이며 건물이며 얼마나 웅장하고 볼 만합니까?" 하고 말하였다.
- 예수께서는 "지금은 저 웅장한 건물들이 보이겠지만 그러나 저 돌들이 어느 하나도 제자리에 그대로 얹혀 있지 못하고 다 무너지고 말 것이다." 하고 말씀하셨다.
- 예수께서 성전 건너편 올리브 산에 앉아 성전을 바라보고 계실 때에 베드로와 야고보와 요한과 안드레아가 따로 찾아와서
- "그런 일이 언제 일어나겠습니까? 그리고 그런 일이 다 이루어질 무렵에는 어떤 징조가 나타나겠습니까? 저희에게 말씀해 주십시오." 하고 말하였다.
- 예수께서는 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "아무에게도 속지 않도록 조심하여라.

- And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!
- And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
- And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,
- Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?
- And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:

- 장차 많은 사람이 내 이름을 내세우며 나타나서 '내가 그리스도다!' 하고 떠들어대면서 많은 사람들을 속일 것이다.
- 또 여러 번 난리도 겪고 전쟁 소문도 듣게 될 것이다. 그러나 당황하지 마라. 그런 일은 반드시 일어날 터이지만 그것으로 끝나는 것은 아니다.
- 한 민족이 일어나 딴 민족을 치고 한 나라가 일어나 딴 나라를 칠 것이며 또 곳곳에서 지진이 일어나고 흉년이 들 터인데 이런 일들은 다만 고통의 시작일 뿐이다."
- "정신을 바짝 차려라. 너희는 법정에 끌려갈 것이며 회당에서 매를 맞고 또 나 때문에 총독들과 임금들 앞에 서서 나를 증언하게 될 것이다.
- 우선 복음이 모든 민족에게 전파되어야 한다.

- For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
- And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.
- For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.
- But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.
- And the gospel must first be published among all nations.

- 그리고 사람들이 너희를 붙잡아 법정에 끌고 갈 때에 무슨 말을 할까 하고 미리 걱정하지 마라. 너희가 해야 할 말을 그 시간에 일러주실 것이니 그대로 말하여라. 말하는 이는 너희가 아니라 성령이시다.
- 형제끼리 서로 잡아 넘겨 죽게 할 것이며 아비도 제 자식을 또한 그렇게 하고 자식들도 제 부모를 고발하여 죽게 할 것이다.
- 그리고 너희는 나 때문에 모든 사람에게 미움을 받을 것이다. 그러나 끝까지 참는 사람은 구원을 받을 것이다."

- But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
- Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.
- And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
