- 날이 밝자 곧 대사제들은 원로들과 율법학자들을 비롯하여 온 의회를 소집하고 의논한 끝에 예수를 결박하여 빌라도에게 끌고 가 넘기었다.
- 빌라도는 예수께 "네가 유다인의 왕인가?" 하고 물었다. 예수께서는 "그것은 네 말이다." 하고 대답하셨다.
- 대사제들이 여러 가지로 예수를 고발하자
- 빌라도는 예수께 "보라. 사람들이 저렇게 여러 가지 죄목을 들어 고발하고 있는데 너는 할 말이 하나도 없느냐?" 하고 다시 물었다.
- 그러나 예수께서는 빌라도가 이상하게 여길 정도로 아무런 대답도 하지 않으셨다.

- And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him to Pilate.
- And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto them, Thou sayest it.
- And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing.
- And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee.
- But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled.

- 명절 때마다 총독은 사람들이 요구하는 죄수 하나를 놓아주는 관례가 있었다.
- 마침 그 때에 반란을 일으키다가 사람을 죽이고 감옥에 갇혀 있던 폭도들 가운데 바라빠라는 사람이 있었다.
- 군중은 빌라도에게 몰려가서 전례대로 죄수 하나를 놓아달라고 요구하였다.
- 빌라도가 그들에게 "유다인의 왕을 놓아달라는 것이냐?" 하고 물었다.
- 빌라도는 대사제들이 예수를 시기한 나머지 자기에게까지 끌고 왔다는 것을 알고 있었던 것이다.

- Now at that feast he released unto them one prisoner, whomsoever they desired.
- And there was one named Barabbas, which lay bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection.
- And the multitude crying aloud began to desire him to do as he had ever done unto them.
- But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews?
- For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy.

- 빌라도의 말을 들은 대사제들은 군중을 선동하여 차라리 바라빠를 놓아달라고 청하게 하였다.
- 빌라도는 다시 군중에게 "그러면 너희가 유다인의 왕이라고 부르는 이 사람은 어떻게 하면 좋겠느냐?" 하고 물었다.
- 그러자 군중은 "십자가에 못박으시오!" 하고 소리질렀다.
- 빌라도가 "도대체 이 사람의 잘못이 무엇이냐?" 하고 물었으나 사람들은 더 악을 써가며 "십자가에 못박으시오!" 하고 외쳤다.
- 그래서 빌라도는 군중을 만족시키려고 바라빠를 놓아주고 예수를 채찍질하게 한 다음 십자가형에 처하라고 내어주었다.

- But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them.
- And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do unto him whom ye call the King of the Jews?
- And they cried out again, Crucify him.
- Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him.
- And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.

- 병사들은 예수를 총독 관저 뜰 안으로 끌고 들어가서 전 부대원을 불러들였다.
- 그리고 예수께 자주색 옷을 입히고 가시관을 엮어 머리에 씌운 다음
- "유다인의 왕 만세!" 하고 외치면서 경례하였다.
- 또 갈대로 예수의 머리를 치고 침을 뱉으며 무릎을 꿇고 경배하였다.
- 이렇게 희롱한 뒤에 그 자주색 옷을 벗기고 예수의 옷을 도로 입혀서 십자가에 못박으러 끌고 나갔다.

- And the soldiers led him away into the hall, called Praetorium; and they call together the whole band.
- And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his head,
- And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews!
- And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him.
- And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him.

- 그 때 마침 알렉산더와 루포의 아버지 시몬이라는 키레네 사람이 시골에서 올라오다가 그 곳을 지나가게 되었는데 병사들은 그를 붙들어 억지로 예수의 십자가를 지고 가게 하였다.
- 그들은 예수를 끌고 골고타라는 곳으로 갔다. 골고타는 해골산이라는 뜻이다.
- 그들은 포도주에 몰약을 타서 예수께 주었으나 예수께서는 드시지 않았다.
- 마침내 그들은 예수를 십자가에 못박았다. 그리고 주사위를 던져 각자의 몫을 정하여 예수의 옷을 나누어 가졌다.
- 예수를 십자가에 못박은 때는 아침 아홉 시였다.

- And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross.
- And they bring him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull.
- And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but he received it not.
- And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take.
- And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.

- 예수의 죄목을 적은 명패에는 "유다인의 왕" 이라고 씌어 있었다.
- 예수와 함께 강도 두 사람도 십자가형을 받았는데 하나는 그의 오른편에, 다른 하나는 왼편에 달렸다.

- 지나가던 사람들이 머리를 흔들며 "하하, 너는 성전을 헐고 사흘 안에 다시 짓는다더니
- 십자가에서 내려와 네 목숨이나 건져보아라." 하며 모욕하였다.

- And the superscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS.
- And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left.
- And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.
- And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,
- Save thyself, and come down from the cross.

- 같은 모양으로 대사제들과 율법학자들도 조롱하며 "남을 살리면서 자기는 살리지 못하는구나!
- 어디 이스라엘의 왕 그리스도가 지금 십자가에서 내려오나 보자. 그렇게만 한다면 우린들 안 믿을 수 있겠느냐?" 하고 서로 지껄였다. 예수와 함께 십자가에 달린 자들까지도 예수를 모욕하였다.
- 낮 열두 시가 되자 온 땅이 어둠에 덮여 오후 세 시까지 계속되었다.
- 세 시에 예수께서 큰소리로 "엘로이, 엘로이, 레마 사박타니?" 하고 부르짖으셨다. 이 말씀은 '나의 하느님, 나의 하느님, 어찌하여 나를 버리셨나이까?'라는 뜻이다.
- 거기에 서 있던 사람들 몇이 이 말을 듣고 "저것 봐! 이 사람이 엘리야를 부르는구나." 하였다.

- Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save.
- Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.
- And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.
- And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
- And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias.

- 어떤 사람은 달려오더니 해면을 신 포도주에 적시어 갈대 끝에 꽂아 예수의 입에 대면서 "어디 엘리야가 와서 그를 내려주나 봅시다." 하고 말하였다.
- 예수께서는 큰소리를 지르시고 숨을 거두셨다.
- 그 때 성전 휘장이 위에서 아래까지 두 폭으로 찢어졌다.
- 예수를 지켜보고 서 있던 백인대장이 예수께서 그렇게 소리를 지르고 숨을 거두시는 광경을 보고 "이 사람이야말로 정말 하느님의 아들이었구나!" 하고 말하였다.
- 또 여자들도 먼 데서 이 광경을 지켜보고 있었는데 그들 가운데에는 막달라 여자 마리아, 작은 야고보와 요셉의 어머니 마리아, 그리고 살로메가 있었다.

- And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down.
- And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.
- And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.
- And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.
- There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;

- 그들은 예수께서 갈릴래아에 계실 때에 따라다니며 예수께 시중을 들던 여자들이다. 그 밖에도 예수를 따라 예루살렘에 올라온 여자들이 거기에 많이 있었다.
- 날이 이미 저물었다. 그 날은 준비일, 곧 안식일 전날이었기 때문에
- 아리마태아 사람 요셉이 용기를 내어 빌라도에게 가서 예수의 시체를 내어달라고 청하였다. 그는 명망 있는 의회 의원이었고 하느님 나라를 열심히 대망하고 있는 사람이었다.
- 이 말을 듣고 빌라도는 예수가 벌써 죽었을까 하고 백인대장을 불러 그가 죽은 지 오래되었는가 물어보았다.
- 그리고 백인대장에게서 예수가 분명히 죽었다는 사실을 전해 듣고는 시체를 요셉에게 내어주었다.

- (Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him;) and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem.
- And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath,
- Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus.
- And Pilate marvelled if he were already dead: and calling unto him the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead.
- And when he knew it of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph.

- 요셉은 시체를 내려다가 미리 사가지고 온 고운 베로 싸서 바위를 파서 만든 무덤에 모신 다음, 큰 돌을 굴려 무덤 입구를 막아놓았다.
- 막달라 여자 마리아와 요셉의 어머니 마리아가 예수를 모신 곳을 지켜보고 있었다.

- And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre.
- And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses beheld where he was laid.
