- 또한 파누엘의 딸로서 아셀 지파의 혈통을 이어받은 안나라는 나이 많은 여자 예언자가 있었다. 그는 결혼하여 남편과 일곱 해를 같이 살다가
- 과부가 되어 여든네 살이 되도록 성전을 떠나지 않고 밤낮없이 단식과 기도로써 하느님을 섬겨왔다.
- 이 여자는 예식이 진행되고 있을 때에 바로 그 자리에 왔다가 하느님께 감사를 드리고 예루살렘이 구원될 날을 기다리던 모든 사람에게 이 아기의 이야기를 하였다.
- 아기의 부모는 주님의 율법을 따라 모든 일을 다 마치고 자기 고향 갈릴래아 지방 나자렛으로 돌아갔다.
- 아기는 날로 튼튼하게 자라면서 지혜가 풍부해지고 하느님의 은총을 받고 있었다.

- And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;
- And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.
- And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.
- And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.
- And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

- 해마다 과월절이 되면 예수의 부모는 명절을 지내러 예루살렘으로 가곤 하였는데
- 예수가 열두 살이 되던 해에도 예년과 마찬가지로 예루살렘으로 올라갔다.
- 그런데 명절의 기간이 다 끝나 집으로 돌아올 때에 어린 예수는 예루살렘에 그대로 남아 있었다. 그런 줄도 모르고 그의 부모는
- 아들이 일행 중에 끼여 있으려니 하고 하룻길을 갔다. 그제야 생각이 나서 친척들과 친지들 가운데서 찾아보았으나
- 보이지 않으므로 줄곧 찾아 헤매면서 예루살렘까지 되돌아갔다.

- Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.
- And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.
- And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.
- But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.
- And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.

- 사흘 만에 성전에서 그를 찾아냈는데 거기서 예수는 학자들과 한자리에 앉아 그들의 말을 듣기도 하고 그들에게 묻기도 하는 중이었다.
- 그리고 듣고 있던 사람들은 모두 그의 지능과 대답하는 품에 경탄하고 있었다.
- 그의 부모는 그를 보고 깜짝 놀랐다. 어머니는 예수를 보고 "얘야, 왜 이렇게 우리를 애태우느냐? 너를 찾느라고 아버지와 내가 얼마나 고생했는지 모른다." 하고 말하였다.
- 그러자 예수는 "왜, 나를 찾으셨습니까? 내가 내 아버지의 집에 있어야 할 줄을 모르셨습니까?" 하고 대답하였다.
- 그러나 부모는 아들이 한 말이 무슨 뜻인지 알아듣지 못하였다.

- And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
- And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.
- And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.
- And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?
- And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.

- 예수는 부모를 따라 나자렛으로 돌아와 부모에게 순종하며 살았다. 그 어머니는 이 모든 일을 마음속에 간직하였다.
- 예수는 몸과 지혜가 날로 자라면서 하느님과 사람의 총애를 더욱 많이 받게 되었다.

- And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.
- And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
