- 예수께서 또 말씀하셨다. "정말 잘 들어두어라. 양 우리에 들어갈 때에 문으로 들어가지 않고 딴 데로 넘어 들어가는 사람은 도둑이며 강도이다.
- 양 치는 목자는 문으로 버젓이 들어간다.
- 문지기는 목자에게 문을 열어주고 양들은 목자의 음성을 알아듣는다. 목자는 자기 양들을 하나하나 불러내어 밖으로 데리고 나간다.
- 이렇게 양떼를 불러낸 다음에 목자는 앞장서 간다. 양떼는 그의 음성을 알고 있기 때문에 그를 뒤따라간다.
- 양들은 낯선 사람을 결코 따라가지 않는다. 그 사람의 음성이 귀에 익지 않기 때문에 오히려 그를 피하여 달아난다."

- Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
- But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
- To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
- And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
- And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

- 예수께서 그들에게 이 비유를 말씀해 주셨지만 그들은 그 말씀이 무슨 뜻인지 깨닫지 못하였다.
- 예수께서 또 말씀하셨다. "정말 잘 들어두어라. 나는 양이 드나드는 문이다.
- 나보다 먼저 온 사람은 모두 다 도둑이며 강도이다. 그래서 양들은 그들의 말을 듣지 않았다.
- 나는 문이다. 누구든지 나를 거쳐서 들어오면 안전할 뿐더러 마음대로 드나들며 좋은 풀을 먹을 수 있다.
- 도둑은 다만 양을 훔쳐다가 죽여서 없애려고 오지만 나는 양들이 생명을 얻고 더 얻어 풍성하게 하려고 왔다."

- This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.
- Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
- All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
- I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
- The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

- "나는 착한 목자이다. 착한 목자는 자기 양을 위하여 목숨을 바친다.
- 목자가 아닌 삯꾼은 양들이 자기 것이 아니기 때문에 이리가 가까이 오는 것을 보면 양을 버리고 도망쳐 버린다. 그러면 이리는 양들을 물어가고 양떼는 뿔뿔이 흩어져버린다.
- 그는 삯꾼이어서 양들을 조금도 생각하지 않기 때문이다.
- 나는 착한 목자이다. 나는 내 양들을 알고 내 양들도 나를 안다.
- 이것은 마치 아버지께서 나를 아시고 내가 아버지를 아는 것과 같다. 나는 내 양들을 위하여 목숨을 바친다.

- I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
- But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
- The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
- I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
- As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

- 나에게는 이 우리 안에 들어 있지 않은 다른 양들도 있다. 나는 그 양들도 데려와야 한다. 그러면 그들도 내 음성을 알아듣고 마침내 한 떼가 되어 한 목자 아래 있게 될 것이다."
- "아버지께서는 내가 목숨을 바치기 때문에 나를 사랑하신다. 그러나 결국 나는 다시 그 목숨을 얻게 될 것이다.
- 누가 나에게서 목숨을 빼앗아가는 것이 아니라 내가 스스로 바치는 것이다. 나에게는 목숨을 바칠 권리도 있고 다시 얻을 권리도 있다. 이것이 바로 내 아버지에게서 내가 받은 명령이다."
- 이 말씀을 들은 유다인들 사이에서는 다시 논란이 일어났다.
- 많은 사람이 "그는 마귀가 들렸소. 그런 미친 사람의 말을 무엇 때문에 듣는 거요?" 하고 말하는가 하면

- And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
- Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
- No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
- There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings.
- And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him?

- 어떤 사람들은 "마귀 들린 사람이 어떻게 그런 말을 하겠소? 더구나 마귀가 어떻게 소경의 눈을 뜨게 할 수 있단 말이오?" 하고 말하였다.

- Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?
