- 내가 곤경에 빠졌을 때, 당신의 얼굴을 나에게서 돌리지 마소서. 당신 이름을 부를 때, 귀를 기울이시고 빨리 대답하소서.
- 나의 세월은 연기처럼 사라지고 뼈마디는 숯불처럼 타버립니다.
- 내 마음은 풀처럼 시들고, 식욕조차 잃었사옵니다.
- 장탄식에 지쳐버려 뼈와 살이 맞닿았습니다.

- Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee.
- Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.
- For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth.
- My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.
- By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.

- 지붕 위의 외로운 새와도 같이 잠 못 이루옵니다.
- 종일토록 퍼붓는 원수들의 욕지거리, 나를 찬양하던 그들이 내 말로써 저주합니다.
- 밥으로는 재를 먹고 마시는 것에 눈물이 섞이었으니
- 분노에 불을 붙이시어 나를 들었다 내치신 때문이옵니다.
