- 그러므로 남을 판단하는 사람이라 하더라도 자기는 죄가 없다고 말할 수는 없습니다. 남을 판단하면서 자기도 똑같은 짓을 하고 있으니 결국 남을 판단하는 것은 바로 자기 자신을 단죄하는 것입니다.
- 이런 짓을 일삼는 자들에게는 하느님께서 마땅히 심판을 내리신다는 것을 우리는 알고 있습니다.
- 자기도 같은 짓을 하면서 남이 그런 짓을 한다고 심판하는 자가 있는데, 그런 자가 하느님의 심판을 면할 것 같습니까?
- 더구나 사람을 회개시키려고 베푸시는 하느님의 자비를 깨닫기는커녕 오히려 그 크신 자비와 관용과 인내를 업신여기는 자가 있다니 될 말입니까?
- 그러고도 마음이 완고해서 회개할 생각도 하지 않으니 이런 자는 하느님의 공정한 심판이 내릴 진노의 날에 자기가 받을 벌을 쌓아올리고 있는 것입니다.

- Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
- But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.
- And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
- Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
- But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

- 하느님께서는 각 사람에게 그 행실대로 갚아주실 것입니다.
- 꾸준히 선을 행하면서 영광과 명예와 불멸의 것을 추구하는 사람들에게는 영원한 생명을 주실 것이고
- 자기 이익만을 생각하면서 진리를 물리치고 옳지 않은 것을 따르는 사람들에게는 진노와 벌을 내리실 것입니다.
- 악한 일을 행하는 사람이면 누구든지 궁지에 몰리고 고통을 당하게 될 것입니다. 먼저는 유다인들이 당하고 그 다음에는 이방인들까지 당할 것입니다.
- 그러나 선한 일을 행하는 사람이면 누구나 영광과 명예와 평화를 누리게 될 것입니다. 먼저는 유다인들이 누리고 그 다음에는 이방인들까지 누릴 것입니다.

- Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
- To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
- But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
- Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
- But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:

- 하느님께서는 모든 인간을 차별없이 대하시니 말입니다.
- 율법을 가지지 못한 채 죄를 지은 사람들은 율법과는 관계없이 망할 것이고 율법을 가지고도 죄를 지은 사람들은 그 율법에 따라 심판받을 것입니다.
- 하느님과 올바른 관계를 가질 수 있는 사람은 율법을 듣기만 하는 사람이 아니라 율법대로 실행하는 사람입니다.
- 이방인들에게는 율법이 없습니다. 그러나 그들이 본성에 따라서 율법이 명하는 것을 실행한다면 비록 율법이 없을지라도 그들 자신이 율법의 구실을 합니다.
- 그들의 마음속에는 율법이 새겨져 있고 그것이 작용하고 있다는 것을 알 수 있습니다. 내가 전하는 복음이 말하는 대로 하느님께서 예수 그리스도를 통하여 사람들의 비밀을 심판하시는 그 날에 그들의 양심이 증인이 되고 그들의 이성이 서로 고발도 하고 변호도 할 것입니다.

- For there is no respect of persons with God.
- For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
- (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
- For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
- Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
