- 믿음이 강한 사람은 자기 좋을 대로 하지 말고 믿음이 약한 사람의 약점을 돌보아 주어야 합니다.
- 우리는 저마다 이웃의 뜻을 존중하고 그의 이익을 도모하여 믿음을 북돋아 주어야 합니다.
- 그리스도께서도 당신이 좋으실 대로 하시지 않고 오히려 "하느님을 모욕하는 자들의 모욕을 내가 대신 다 받았습니다."라는 성서 말씀대로 사셨습니다.
- 성서 말씀은 모두 우리에게 교훈을 주려고 기록된 것입니다. 그래서 우리는 성서에서 인내를 배우고 격려를 받아서 희망을 가지게 됩니다.
- 아무쪼록 인내와 격려를 주시는 하느님께서 여러분이 그리스도 예수의 뜻을 따라 모두 한마음이 되어

- We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
- Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.
- For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.
- For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
- Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:

- 다같이 한 목소리로 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 아버지 하느님을 찬미하도록 하여주시기를 빕니다.
- 그러므로 그리스도께서 여러분을 받아들이신 것같이 여러분도 서로 받아들여서 하느님의 영광을 드러내십시오.
- 그리스도께서는 하느님의 진실성을 드러내시기 위하여 할례받은 사람들의 종이 되셨습니다. 이리하여 하느님께서 그들의 조상에게 약속하신 것을 이루셨고
- 이방인들은 자비로우신 하느님을 찬양하게 되었습니다. 성서에도, "그러므로 내가 이방인들 가운데서 주께 찬양을 드리며 주님의 이름을 찬미하리라." 하였고 또,
- "이방인들이여, 주님의 백성과 함께 기뻐하여라." 하였으며 또,

- That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
- Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.
- Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:
- And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.
- And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.

- "모든 이방인들이여, 주를 찬양하여라. 모든 민족들도 주를 찬양하여라." 하였습니다.
- 그리고 이사야도, "이새의 줄기에서 싹이 돋아 이방인들을 다스릴 분이 나타나리니 이방인들은 그분에게 희망을 걸리라." 하였습니다.
- 아무쪼록 희망을 주시는 하느님께서 믿음에서 오는 온갖 즐거움과 평화를 여러분에게 가득히 안겨주시고 성령의 힘으로 희망이 여러분에게 넘쳐 흐르게 하여주시기를 빕니다.
- 형제 여러분, 나는 여러분이 더할 나위 없이 마음이 너그럽고 지식이 풍부하여 서로 충고할 만한 능력이 있다고 확신합니다.
- 다만 내가 이 편지에서 가끔 지나칠 정도로 강조해서 말한 것은 하느님께서 내게 은총으로 주신 사명을 다하기 위해서 여러분의 기억을 새롭게 하려는 것이었습니다.

- And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people.
- And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.
- Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
- And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.
- Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God,

- 그 사명은 내가 이방인들을 위한 그리스도 예수의 일꾼으로서 하느님의 복음을 전하는 사제의 직무를 맡아 성령으로 거룩하게 된 이방인들을 하느님께서 기쁘게 받아주실 제물이 되게 하는 것입니다.
- 그러므로 나는 그리스도 예수와 한 몸이 되어 하느님을 위하여 일하는 것을 자랑으로 여깁니다.
- 이방인들을 하느님께 복종시키신 분은 그리스도이시고 나는 다만 그분의 일꾼 노릇을 했을 따름이라는 것을 강조하고 싶습니다.
- 나는 그분에게서 기적과 놀라운 일을 할 수 있는 힘 곧 성령의 힘을 받아 예루살렘에서 일리리쿰에 이르기까지 두루 다니면서 말과 활동으로 그리스도의 복음을 남김없이 전파하였습니다.
- 그리고 나는 남이 닦아놓은 터전에는 집을 짓지 않으려고 그리스도의 이름이 아직 알려지지 않은 곳에서만 복음을 전하려고 애써 왔습니다.

- That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
- I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God.
- For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed,
- Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
- Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation:

- 나는, "그분의 소문을 들어보지도 못한 사람들에게 그분을 보여주고 그분의 이름을 들어보지도 못한 사람들에게 그분을 깨닫게 하여주리라." 한 성서 말씀대로 실천한 것입니다.

- But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand.
