- 형제 여러분, 나는 여러분에게 영적인 사람을 대할 때와 같이 말할 수가 없어서 육적인 사람, 곧 교인으로서는 어린 아이를 대하듯이 말할 수밖에 없었습니다.
- 나는 여러분에게 단단한 음식은 먹이지 않고 젖을 먹였습니다. 여러분은 그 때 단단한 음식을 먹을 수가 없었던 것입니다. 사실은 아직도 그것을 소화할 힘이 없습니다.
- 여러분은 지금도 육적인 생활을 하고 있기 때문입니다. 여러분이 서로 시기하고 다투고 있으니 여러분은 아직도 육적인 사람들이고 세속적인 인간의 생활을 하고 있는 것이 아니고 무엇이겠습니까?
- 여러분이 세속적인 인간이 아니고서야 어떻게 "나는 바울로파다." 하거나 "나는 아폴로파다." 하거나 할 수 있겠습니까?
- 도대체 아폴로는 무엇이고 바울로는 무엇입니까? 아폴로나 나나 다 같이 여러분을 믿음으로 인도한 일꾼에 불과하며 주님께서 우리에게 각각 맡겨주신 일을 했을 따름입니다.

- And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
- I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
- For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
- For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
- Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?

- 나는 씨를 심었고 아폴로는 물을 주었습니다. 그러나 그것을 자라게 하신 분은 하느님이십니다.
- 심는 사람이나 물을 주는 사람은 중요할 것이 없고 자라게 하시는 하느님만이 중요하십니다.
- 심는 사람과 물주는 사람은 동등한 사람이고 각기 수고한 만큼 삯을 받을 따름입니다.
- 우리는 하느님을 위해서 함께 일하는 일꾼들이고 여러분은 하느님의 밭이며 하느님의 건물입니다.
- 나는 하느님께서 주신 은총으로 능숙한 건축가가 되어 기초를 놓았고 다른 사람은 그 위에 집을 짓고 있습니다. 그러나 집을 짓는 방법에 대해서는 각자가 신중히 생각해야 합니다.

- I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
- So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
- Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
- For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
- According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

- 이미 예수 그리스도라는 기초가 놓여 있으니 아무도 다른 기초는 놓을 수가 없습니다.
- 이 기초 위에다가 어떤 사람은 금으로, 어떤 사람은 은으로, 어떤 사람은 보석으로, 어떤 사람은 나무로, 어떤 사람은 마른 풀로, 어떤 사람은 짚으로 집을 짓는다고 합시다.
- 이제 심판의 날이 오면 모든 것이 드러나서 각자가 한 일이 명백하게 될 것입니다. 심판의 날은 불을 몰고 오겠고 그 불은 각자의 업적을 시험하여 그 진가를 가려줄 것입니다.
- 만일 그 기초 위에 세운 집이 그 불을 견디어내면 그 집을 지은 사람은 상을 받고
- 만일 그 집이 불에 타버리면 그는 낭패를 볼 것입니다. 그러나 그 자신은 불 속에서 살아 나오는 사람같이 구원을 받습니다.

- For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
- Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
- Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
- If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
- If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

- 여러분은 자신이 하느님의 성전이며 하느님의 성령께서 자기 안에 살아 계시다는 것을 모르십니까?
- 만일 누구든지 하느님의 성전을 파괴하면 하느님께서도 그 사람을 멸망시키실 것입니다. 하느님의 성전은 거룩하며 여러분 자신이 바로 하느님의 성전이기 때문입니다.
- 어느 누구도 자기 기만에 빠져서는 안 됩니다. 여러분 중에 혹시 자기가 세속적인 면에서 지혜로운 자라고 생각하는 사람이 있을지도 모릅니다. 그러나 정말 지혜로운 사람이 되려면 바보가 되어야 합니다.
- 이 세상의 지혜는 하느님이 보시기에는 어리석은 것입니다. 성서에 "하느님께서는 지혜롭다는 자들을 제 꾀에 빠지게 하신다."고 기록되어 있고
- 또 "주님께서는 지혜롭다는 자들의 생각이 헛되다는 것을 아신다."고도 기록되어 있습니다.

- Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
- If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
- Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
- For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
- And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

- 그러므로 아무도 인간을 자랑해서는 안 됩니다. 모든 것이 다 여러분의 것입니다.
- 바울로도 아폴로도 베드로도 이 세상도 생명도 죽음도 현재도 미래도 다 여러분의 것입니다.
- 그리고 여러분은 그리스도의 것이고 그리스도는 하느님의 것입니다.

- Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your's;
- Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are your's;
- And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.
