- 내가 그리스도를 본받는 것처럼 여러분도 나를 본받으십시오.
- 여러분이 늘 나를 기억하고 내가 전해 준 전통을 그대로 지키고 있으니 정말 잘한 일입니다.
- 모든 사람의 머리는 그리스도요 아내의 머리는 남편이요 그리스도의 머리는 하느님이시라는 것을 알아두시기 바랍니다.
- 남자가 기도를 하거나 하느님의 말씀을 받아서 전할 때에 머리에 무엇을 쓰면 그것은 자기 머리, 곧 그리스도를 욕되게 하는 것입니다.
- 그러나 여자가 기도를 하거나 하느님의 말씀을 받아서 전할 때에 머리에 무엇을 쓰지 않으면 그것은 자기 머리, 곧 자기 남편을 욕되게 하는 것입니다. 그것은 머리를 민 것이나 다름이 없습니다.

- Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
- Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.
- But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
- Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.
- But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.

- 만일 여자가 머리에 아무것도 쓰지 않아도 된다면 머리를 깎아버려도 될 것입니다. 그러나 머리를 깎거나 미는 것이 여자에게는 부끄러운 일이니 무엇으로든지 머리를 가리십시오.
- 남자는 하느님의 모습과 영광을 지니고 있으니 머리를 가리지 말아야 합니다. 그러나 여자는 남자의 영광을 지니고 있을 뿐입니다.
- 여자에게서 남자가 창조된 것이 아니라 남자에게서 여자가 창조되었기 때문입니다.
- 또한 남자가 여자를 위해서 창조된 것이 아니라 여자가 남자를 위해서 창조되었기 때문입니다.
- 천사들이 보고 있으니 여자는 자기가 남편의 권위를 인정하는 표시로 머리를 가려야 합니다.

- For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
- For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
- For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man.
- Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
- For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.

- 주님을 믿는 세계에서는 여자나 남자나 다 같이 상대방에게 서로 속해 있습니다.
- 그것은 여자가 남자에게서 창조되었지만 남자는 여자의 몸에서 태어나기 때문입니다. 그러나 모든 것이 다 하느님께로부터 왔습니다.
- 여자가 머리를 가리지 않은 채 하느님께 기도하는 것이 과연 옳은 일인지 여러분은 잘 생각해 보십시오.
- 자연 그 자체가 가르쳐주는 대로 남자가 머리를 길게 기르면 수치가 되지만
- 여자의 긴 머리는 오히려 자랑이 되지 않습니까? 여자의 긴 머리카락은 그 머리를 가려주는 구실을 하는 것입니다.

- Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.
- For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.
- Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?
- Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
- But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.

- 이에 대해서 딴소리를 할 사람이 있을지 모르나 그런 풍습은 우리에게도 하느님의 교회에도 없습니다.

- But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.
