- 그러므로 사랑하는 여러분, 우리는 이런 약속을 받았으니 우리의 몸과 심령을 조금도 더럽히지 말고 깨끗하게 지켜서 하느님을 두려워하는 생활을 하며 완전히 거룩한 사람이 됩시다.
- 마음을 열어 우리를 받아주시기 바랍니다. 우리는 아무에게도 해를 끼친 일이 없고 아무도 망쳐놓은 일이 없으며 아무도 착취한 일이 없습니다.
- 나는 여러분을 책망하려고 이 말을 하는 것이 아닙니다. 내가 전에도 말했듯이 여러분은 늘 내 마음속에 있어서 죽어도 같이 죽고 살아도 같이 살 사이가 아닙니까?
- 나는 여러분을 전적으로 믿으며 크게 자랑합니다. 우리는 온갖 고난을 겪으면서도 큰 위안을 받고 기쁨에 넘쳐 있습니다.

- I speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with you.
- Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.
