- 여러분은 하느님의 사랑을 받는 자녀답게 하느님을 닮으십시오.
- 그리스도를 본받아 여러분은 사랑의 생활을 하십시오. 그리스도께서는 우리를 사랑하신 나머지 우리를 위하여 당신 자신을 바치셔서 하느님 앞에 향기로운 예물과 희생제물이 되셨습니다.
- 음행이나 온갖 추행이나 탐욕에 찬 말은 입에 담지도 마십시오. 그래야 성도로서 부끄럽지 않을 것입니다.
- 추잡한 말과 어리석은 이야기나 점잖지 못한 농담 따위도 하지 마십시오. 성도들에게는 어울리지 않습니다. 성도들에게 어울리는 것은 하느님께 대한 감사의 말입니다.
- 음행하는 자와 더러운 짓을 하는 자와 탐욕을 부리는 자는 그리스도와 하느님의 나라에서 상속을 받지 못한다는 것을 명심하십시오. 탐욕을 부리는 자는 우상을 숭배하는 자입니다.

- Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
- And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
- But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
- Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
- For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

- 여러분은 아무한테도 허황된 이론에 속아 넘어가지 마십시오. 이런 일 때문에 하느님의 진노가 당신을 거역하는 자들에게 내리는 것입니다.
- 그러므로 여러분은 그런 사람들과 상종하지 마십시오.
- 여러분이 전에는 어둠의 세계에서 살았지만 지금은 주님을 믿고 빛의 세계에서 살고 있습니다. 그러니 빛의 자녀답게 살아야 합니다.
- 빛은 모든 선과 정의와 진실을 열매 맺습니다.
- 주님을 기쁘게 하여드리는 일이 무엇인지를 가려내십시오.

- Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
- Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
- For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
- (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
- Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

- 그래서 열매를 맺지 못하는 어둠의 행위에 끼여들지 말고 오히려 그런 일을 폭로하십시오.
- 사람들은 그런 일들을 숨어서 하는데 그것들은 말하기조차 부끄러운 일들입니다.
- 모든 것은 폭로되면 빛을 받아 드러나고
- 빛을 받아 드러나면 빛의 세계에 속하게 됩니다 "잠에서 깨어나라. 죽음에서 일어나라. 그리스도께서 너에게 빛을 비추어주시리라."는 말씀이 이 뜻입니다.
- 그러므로 여러분은 어떻게 처신해야 할지 깊이 생각해서 미련한 자처럼 살지 말고 지혜롭게 사십시오.

- And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
- For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
- But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
- Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
- See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

- 이 시대는 악합니다. 그러니 여러분에게 주어진 기회를 잘 살리십시오.
- 여러분은 어리석은 자가 되지 말고 주님의 뜻이 무엇인지를 잘 아는 사람이 되십시오.
- 술 취하지 마십시오. 방탕한 생활이 거기에서 옵니다. 여러분은 성령을 가득히 받아야 합니다.
- 성시와 찬송가와 영가를 모두 같이 부르십시오. 그리고 진정한 마음으로 노래불러 주님을 찬양하십시오.
- 또 모든 일에 언제나 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 하느님 아버지께 감사 드리십시오.

- Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
- Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
- And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
- Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
- Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

- 여러분은 그리스도를 공경하는 정신으로 서로 복종하십시오.
- 아내 된 사람들은 주님께 순종하듯 자기 남편에게 순종하십시오.
- 그리스도께서 당신의 몸인 교회의 구원자로서 그 교회의 머리가 되시는 것처럼 남편은 아내의 주인이 됩니다.
- 교회가 그리스도께 순종하는 것처럼 아내도 모든 일에 자기 남편에게 순종해야 합니다.
- 남편 된 사람들은 그리스도께서 교회를 사랑하셔서 당신의 몸을 바치신 것처럼 자기 아내를 사랑하십시오.

- Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
- Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
- For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
- Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
- Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

- 그리스도께서는 물로 씻는 예식과 말씀으로 교회를 거룩하게 하시려고 당신의 몸을 바치셨습니다.
- 그것은 교회로 하여금 티나 주름이나 그 밖의 어떤 추한 점도 없이 거룩하고 흠없는 아름다운 모습으로 당신 앞에 서게 하시려는 것입니다.
- 이와 같이 남편 된 사람들도 자기 아내를 제 몸같이 사랑해야 합니다. 자기 아내를 사랑하는 것은 자기 자신을 사랑하는 것이 아니겠습니까?
- 도대체 자기 몸을 미워하는 사람은 없습니다. 오히려 자기 몸을 기르고 보살펴 줍니다. 그리스도께서도 교회를 기르시고 보살펴 주십니다.
- 우리는 그리스도의 몸의 지체들입니다.

- That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
- That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
- So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
- For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
- For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

- 성서에 "그러므로 사람이 부모를 떠나 자기 아내와 결합하여 둘이 한 몸을 이룬다."는 말씀이 있습니다.
- 참으로 심오한 진리가 담겨져 있는 말씀입니다. 나는 이 말씀이 그리스도와 교회의 관계를 말해 준다고 봅니다.
- 그러나 이 말씀은 여러분에게도 적용되는 것으로서 남편 된 사람은 자기 아내를 자기 몸같이 사랑하고 아내 된 사람은 자기 남편을 존경해야 합니다.

- For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
- This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
- Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
