- 자녀 된 사람들은 부모에게 순종하십시오. 이것이 주님을 믿는 사람으로서 마땅히 해야 할 일입니다.
- "네 부모를 공경하여라." 하신 계명은 약속이 붙어 있는 첫째 계명입니다.
- 그 약속은, 계명을 잘 지키는 사람은 복을 받고 땅에서 오래 살리라는 것입니다.
- 어버이들은 자녀의 마음에 상처를 입히지 말고 주님의 정신으로 교육하고 훈계하며 잘 기르십시오.
- 남의 종이 된 사람들은 그리스도께 복종하듯이 두렵고 떨리는 마음으로 성의를 다하여 자기 주인에게 복종하십시오.

- Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
- Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;
- That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
- And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
- Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;

- 사람에게 잘 보이려고 눈가림으로만 섬기지 말고 그리스도의 종답게 진심으로 하느님의 뜻을 실천하십시오.
- 사람을 섬긴다고 생각하지 말고 주님을 섬기는 마음으로 기쁘게 섬기십시오.
- 선한 일을 하는 사람은 그가 종이든 종이 아니든 각기 주님께로부터 그만한 상급을 받는다는 것을 알아두십시오.
- 주인 된 사람들도 자기 종들에게 같은 정신으로 대해 주어야 합니다. 여러분은 종들을 협박해서는 안 됩니다. 그들에게나 여러분에게 주인이 되시는 분은 하늘에 계시며 또 그분은 모든 사람을 차별없이 대해 주신다는 것을 알아두십시오.
- 내가 끝으로 여러분에게 권고할 말은 이것입니다. 여러분은 주님과 함께 살면서 그분에게서 강한 힘을 받아 굳세게 되십시오.

- Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;
- With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:
- Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
- And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.
- Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

- 속임수를 쓰는 악마에 대항할 수 있도록 하느님께서 주시는 무기로 완전무장을 하십시오.
- 우리가 대항하여 싸워야 할 원수들은 인간이 아니라 권세와 세력의 악신들과 암흑 세계의 지배자들과 하늘의 악령들입니다.
- 그러므로 지금 하느님의 무기로 완전무장을 하십시오. 그래야 악한 무리가 공격해 올 때에 그들을 대항하여 원수를 완전히 무찌르고 승리를 거둘 수 있을 것입니다.
- 그러므로 굳건히 서서 진리로 허리를 동이고 정의로 가슴에 무장을 하고
- 발에는 평화의 복음을 갖추어 신고

- Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
- For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
- Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
- Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
- And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

- 손에는 언제나 믿음의 방패를 잡고 있어야 합니다. 그 방패로 여러분은 악마가 쏘는 불화살을 막아 꺼버릴 수 있을 것입니다.
- 구원의 투구를 받아 쓰고 성령의 칼을 받아 쥐십시오. 성령의 칼은 하느님의 말씀입니다.
- 여러분은 또한 언제나 기도하며 하느님의 도우심을 청하십시오. 모든 경우에 성령의 도움을 받아 기도하십시오. 늘 깨어서 꾸준히 기도하며 모든 성도들을 위하여 간구하십시오.
- 나를 위해서도 기도해 주십시오. 내가 말을 할 때 마땅히 해야 할 말을 하고 복음의 심오한 진리를 전할 때에 담대하게 말할 수 있도록 하느님께 기도해 주십시오.
- 나는 지금 갇혀 있기는 하지만 이 복음을 전할 사명을 띤 사람입니다. 그러니 마땅히 해야 할 말은 대담하게 말할 수 있게 되기를 빕니다.

- Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
- And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
- Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
- And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
- For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

- 내가 지금 처해 있는 형편과 하고 있는 일을 여러분도 알았으면 합니다. 우리 친애하는 형제 디키고가 이 모든 소식을 여러분에게 알려줄 것입니다. 그는 주님을 믿는 충실한 일꾼입니다.
- 나는 우리 사정을 알리고 또 여러분의 마음을 격려하기 위하여 이 사람을 여러분에게 보냅니다.
- 하느님 아버지와 주 예수 그리스도께서 여러 교우들에게 평화를 내려주시고 믿음과 더불어 사랑을 베풀어주시기를 빕니다.
- 또한 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 변함없이 사랑하는 모든 사람에게 은총이 내리기를 빕니다.

- But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:
- Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.
- Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.
