이사야 42:1-43:28

 이사야는 메시아의 사역을 예언하면서, 야웨께서 그의 종인 메시아를 보호하시고 그를 백성의 언약과 이방의 빛이 되도록 하실 것이라고 예언하였다. 그리고 하나님께서 범죄한 이스라엘을 바벨론에서 해방시키실 것이라고 예언하였다.
  
  메시아의 통치와 사역(42:1-42:25)    
 
  1. 여기에 나의 종이 있다. 그는 내가 믿어주는 자, 마음에 들어 뽑아 세운 나의 종이다. 그는 나의 영을 받아 뭇 민족에게 바른 인생길을 펴주리라.
  2. 그는 소리치거나 고함을 지르지 않아 밖에서 그의 소리가 들리지 않는다.
  3. 갈대가 부러졌다 하여 잘라버리지 아니하고, 심지가 깜박거린다 하여 등불을 꺼버리지 아니하며, 성실하게 바른 인생길만 펴리라.
  4. 그는 기가 꺾여 용기를 잃는 일 없이 끝까지 바른 인생길을 세상에 펴리라. 바닷가에 사는 주민들도 그의 가르침을 기다린다."
  5. 하늘을 창조하여 펼치시고 땅을 밟아 늘이시고 온갖 싹이 돋게 하신 하느님, 그 위에 사는 백성에게 입김을 넣어주시고 거기 움직이는 것들에게 숨결을 주시는 하느님 야훼께서 이렇게 말씀하신다.
  1. Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
  2. He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.
  3. A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.
  4. He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.
  5. Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:
  1. "나 야훼가 너를 부른다. 정의를 세우라고 너를 부른다. 내가 너의 손을 잡아 지켜주고 너를 세워 인류와 계약을 맺으니 너는 만국의 빛이 되어라.
  2. 소경들의 눈을 열어주고 감옥에 묶여 있는 이들을 풀어주고 캄캄한 영창 속에 갇혀 있는 이들을 놓아주어라.
  3. 나는 야훼다. 이것이 내 이름이다. 내가 받을 영광을 뉘게 돌리랴? 내가 받을 찬양을 어떤 우상에게 돌리랴?
  4. 전에 말한 일들은 이미 이루어졌다. 이제 새로 될 일을 내가 미리 알려준다. 싹도 트기 전에 너희의 귀에 들려준다."
  5. 새 노래로 야훼를 찬양하여라. 지구 위 구석구석에서 찬양 소리 울려 퍼지게 하여라. 바다와 바다에 가득한 물고기들아, 소리를 질러라. 섬과 섬에 사는 사람들아, 환성을 올려라.
  1. I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
  2. To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.
  3. I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
  4. Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.
  5. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.
  1. 사막과 사막에 자리잡은 성읍들아, 찬양하여라. 케달족이 웅성대는 부락들에서도 찬양 소리 울려 퍼지게 하여라. 셀라 주민들도 환성을 올려라. 산 봉우리 봉우리에서 크게 외쳐라.
  2. 야훼께 영광을 돌려라. 그를 찬양하는 소리, 이 섬과 저 섬에서 메아리치게 하여라.
  3. 야훼께서 위풍당당하게 나서신다. 분격하여 떨치고 일어나는 군인처럼, 적진에 육박하며 함성을 올려 고함치신다.
  4. "나 오랫동안 입을 다물고 말없이 참아왔다. 이제 해산하는 여인이 더 참을 수 없어 신음하듯이, 나 식식거리고 헐떡이며
  5. 모든 산과 모든 언덕을 휩쓸어 초목은 시들게 하고, 강물은 말라 사막이 되게 하며, 호수도 말라 그 바닥이 갈라지게 하리라.
  1. Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.
  2. Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare his praise in the islands.
  3. The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.
  4. I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.
  5. I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools.
  1. 그러나 나는 낯선 길 가는 소경의 손을 잡아주고, 가본 적 없는 오솔길을 살펴주어, 캄캄하던 앞길을 환히 트이게 하리라. 험한 길은 탄탄대로가 되게 하리라. 나는 이 일을 이루고야 말리라. 결코 중단하지 아니하리라."
  2. 우상들을 의지하는 자들은 꼬리를 감추고, 부어 만든 형상을 보고 "당신들이 우리의 신이다." 하는 자들은 크게 부끄러움을 당하리라.
  3. 귀머거리들아, 들어라. 소경들아, 눈을 똑바로 뜨고 보아라.
  4. 내 종과 같은 소경이 또 있으랴? 내가 보낸 심부름꾼과 같은 귀머거리가 또 있으랴? 나의 사명을 띠고 가는 자와 같은 소경이 또 있으랴? 야훼의 종과 같은 귀머거리가 또 어디 있으랴?
  5. 너는 눈이 있어도 보지 못하는 청맹과니, 귀가 있어도 듣지 못하는 귀머거리다.
  1. And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.
  2. They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, Ye are our gods.
  3. Hear, ye deaf; and look, ye blind, that ye may see.
  4. Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the LORD's servant?
  5. Seeing many things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth not.
  1. 야훼께서는 당신의 옳은 뜻을 세우시려고 법을 크게 들날리는 것을 기뻐하신다.
  2. 그런데 이 백성은 털리고 노략질만 당하였다. 모두 바위굴 속 올무에 걸리고 영창에 갇혔다. 털려도 구해 주는 이 없고 노략질을 당해도 "돌려주어라." 하고 역성들어 주는 자 없다.
  3. 너희 가운데 이 말을 귀담아들어 둘 자가 어디 있느냐? 이 말을 똑똑히 듣고 마음에 새겨 둘 자가 어디 있느냐?
  4. 누가 야곱을 노략질당하게 하였느냐? 누가 이스라엘을 약탈자에게 내주었느냐? 야훼가 아니시고 누구랴! 우리는 그를 거역하여 그의 길을 가지 아니하고 그의 법을 따르지 아니하였다.
  5. 그리하여 그가 불길같이 노하시어 참혹한 전화를 퍼부으시고, 사방에서 불을 지르셨다. 그래도 그들은 깨닫지 못하였다. 말끔히 태워버리셨다. 그래도 그들은 제 정신을 차리지 못하였다.
  1. The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.
  2. But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore.
  3. Who among you will give ear to this? who will hearken and hear for the time to come?
  4. Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not the LORD, he against whom we have sinned? for they would not walk in his ways, neither were they obedient unto his law.
  5. Therefore he hath poured upon him the fury of his anger, and the strength of battle: and it hath set him on fire round about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he laid it not to heart.
 
  이스라엘의 구원자(43:1-43:28)    
 
  1. 그러나 이제 야훼께서 말씀하신다. 야곱아, 너를 창조하신 야훼의 말씀이시다. 이스라엘아, 너를 빚어 만드신 야훼의 말씀이시다. "두려워하지 마라. 내가 너를 건져주지 않았느냐? 내가 너를 지명하여 불렀으니, 너는 내 사람이다.
  2. 네가 물결을 헤치고 건너갈 때 내가 너를 보살피리니 그 강물이 너를 휩쓸어가지 못하리라. 네가 불 속을 걸어가더라도 그 불길에 너는 그을리지도 타버리지도 아니하리라.
  3. 나 야훼가 너의 하느님이다. 이스라엘의 거룩한 자, 내가 너를 구원하는 자다. 이집트를 주고 너를 되찾았고 에티오피아와 스바를 주고 너를 찾아왔다.
  4. 너는 눈에 넣어도 아프지 않을 나의 귀염둥이, 나의 사랑이다. 그러니 어찌 해안 지방을 주고라도 너를 찾지 않으며 부족들을 내주고라도 너의 목숨을 건져내지 않으랴!
  5. 두려워하지 마라. 내가 너를 보살펴 준다. 내가 해 뜨는 곳에서 너의 종족을 데려오고, 해 지는 곳에서도 너를 모아오리라.
  1. But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
  2. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
  3. For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.
  4. Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.
  5. Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;
  1. 내가 북쪽을 향해서도 외치리라. '그들을 어서 내놓아라.' 남쪽을 향해서도 외치리라. '그들을 잡아두지 마라.' 아무리 먼 데서라도 나의 아들들을 데려오너라. 땅 끝에서라도 나의 딸들을 데려오너라.
  2. 그들은 내 백성이라고 불리는 것들, 나의 영광을 빛내려고 창조한 내 백성, 내 손으로 빚어 만든 나의 백성이다.
  3. 눈이 있어도 보지 못하는 이 백성을 귀가 있어도 듣지 못하는 이 백성을 불러모아라.
  4. 민족들이 벌써 다 모였고 부족들이 부름받고 모여왔다. 그들 가운데 이렇게 될 것을 이미 알려준 자가 있었느냐? 이런 일들을 앞질러 일러준 자가 있었느냐? 증인이라도 있거든 내세워 증거를 제시하게 하여라. 무리가 듣고 수긍할 만한 증인이 있거든 말하게 하여라.
  5. 너희가 바로 나의 증인이다. 야훼의 말이다. 너를 뽑아 내 종으로 세운 것은 세상으로 하여금 나를 알고 믿게 하려는 것이요, 나밖에 없다는 것을 깨우치게 하려는 것이다. 손으로 빚은 신이 나보다 앞서 있을 수 없고 후에도 있을 수 없다.
  1. I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;
  2. Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.
  3. Bring forth the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears.
  4. Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and shew us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It is truth.
  5. Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
  1. 나, 내가 곧 야훼이다. 나 아닌 다른 구세주는 없다.
  2. 내가 미리 말하였고 그 말한 대로 구원하였다. 이렇게 될 것을 일러준 신이 나말고 너희 가운데 있느냐? 너희가 곧 나의 증인이다. 야훼의 말이다. 나, 내가 곧 하느님이다.
  3. 처음부터 나밖에 없다. 내 손에 잡힌 것을 아무도 빼내지 못한다. 내가 하는 일을 아무도 뒤집을 수 없다."
  4. 너희를 구해 낸 이스라엘의 거룩하신 이, 야훼께서 말씀하신다. "나는 바빌론으로 사람을 보내어 모든 감옥의 빗장들을 벗기고 너희를 해방시켜 주리라. 갈대아 사람들은 기가 막혀 통곡하며 아우성치리라.
  5. 나는 야훼, 너희의 거룩한 자, 이스라엘의 창조자, 너희의 임금이다."
  1. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.
  2. I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God.
  3. Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?
  4. Thus saith the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships.
  5. I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.
  1. 야훼께서 말씀하신다. 바다에 큰 길을 내시고 거센 물길을 뚫고 한길을 내신 이,
  2. 그들을 다시는 일어나지 못하게 거꾸러뜨리시고, 꺼진 심지처럼 사그라뜨리시려고 병거와 기마를 출동시키시고 군대와 용사를 출동시키신 야훼께서 말씀하신다.
  3. "지나간 일을 생각하지 마라. 흘러간 일에 마음을 묶어두지 마라.
  4. 보아라, 내가 이제 새 일을 시작하였다. 이미 싹이 돋았는데 그것이 보이지 않느냐? 내가 사막에 큰 길을 내리라. 광야에 한길들을 트리라.
  5. 사막에 물을 대어주고 광야에 물줄기를 끌어들이리니, 뽑아 세운 내 백성이 양껏 마시고 승냥이와 타조 같은 들짐승들이 나를 공경하리라.
  1. Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;
  2. Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow.
  3. Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
  4. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
  5. The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.
  1. 내가 친히 손으로 빚은 나의 백성이 나를 찬양하고 기리리라.
  2. 야곱아, 너는 나를 찾지 않았다. 이스라엘아, 너는 나에게 정성을 쏟지 않았다.
  3. 너는 양을 번제로 바치지도 않았고 제물을 드려 나를 섬기지도 않았다. 내가 언제 너에게 봉헌물을 바치라고 성화를 대었느냐? 향을 피우라고 괴롭혔느냐?
  4. 너는 갈대향을 바치는 데 돈쓰는 것을 아까워하였고 제물의 기름기를 흡족히 바칠 생각도 없었다. 도리어 너는 죄를 지어 나의 화를 돋우었고 불의를 저질러 나의 속을 썩였다.
  5. 네 죄악을 씻어 내 위신을 세워야겠다. 이 일을 나밖에 누가 하겠느냐? 너의 죄를 나의 기억에서 말끔히 씻어버리리라.
  1. This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.
  2. But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of me, O Israel.
  3. Thou hast not brought me the small cattle of thy burnt offerings; neither hast thou honoured me with thy sacrifices. I have not caused thee to serve with an offering, nor wearied thee with incense.
  4. Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities.
  5. I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.
  1. 네 속을 내 앞에 털어놓아라. 함께 시비를 가려보자. 너로서 억울한 점이 있거든 해명해 보아라.
  2. 너의 시조부터 죄를 지었고 너를 변호할 자들마저 나를 반역하였으며,
  3. 너의 지도자들조차 내 성소를 더럽혔다. 그래서 나는 판결을 내렸다. '야곱을 전멸시켜라. 이스라엘에게 욕을 돌려라.'"
  1. Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.
  2. Thy first father hath sinned, and thy teachers have transgressed against me.
  3. Therefore I have profaned the princes of the sanctuary, and have given Jacob to the curse, and Israel to reproaches.
