- 이 말을 들어라. 야곱의 가문아, 이스라엘이라는 이름을 받은 자들아, 유다의 혈통을 이어받은 자들아, 야훼의 이름으로 맹세하는 자들아, 마음은 거짓으로 차 있고 생활은 비뚤어졌으면서도 이스라엘의 하느님을 부르는 자들아,
- 그러면서도 스스로 거룩한 도시의 시민임을 자처하면서, 그 이름 만군의 야훼이신 이스라엘의 하느님께 의지한다는구나.
- 지나간 일들을 내가 그보다 앞질러 일러주었고, 이 입으로 똑똑히 들려주지 않았더냐? 홀연히 나는 그것들을 이루었다.
- 너희가 고집불통 무쇠 같은 목덜미에 청동 같은 얼굴을 하고 있는 것을 나는 알았다.
- '이것은 내 우상이 이루어놓은 일이다. 내가 깎아 세우고 내가 부어 만든 신상이 명령해서 된 일이다.' 이런 엉뚱한 소리를 못하게 하려고 나는 너희에게 장차 있을 일을 미리 알려주었고 앞질러 들려주었다.

- Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness.
- For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel; The LORD of hosts is his name.
- I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I shewed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass.
- Because I knew that thou art obstinate, and thy neck is an iron sinew, and thy brow brass;
- I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee: lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them.

- 이렇게 일러준 대로 이루어지는 것을 너희는 보았다. 너희가 이것을 증언하지 않으려느냐? 이제 내가 새로운 일을 너희에게 들려준다. 이것은 너희가 알지 못하던 비밀이다.
- 지금 비로소 되는 일, 일찍이 없었던 일이다. 바로 오늘까지, 너희가 듣지도 못하던 일이다. '진작부터 이럴 줄 알았다.'는 말을 너희는 못한다.
- 듣지도 못하였으니 어찌 알겠느냐? 처음부터 나는 너희 귀를 열어주지 않았다. 너희가 괘씸한 배신자라는 것, 날 때부터 반역자라 불리어 마땅하다는 것을 나는 잘 알고 있었다.
- 나는 나의 이름을 위하여 노여움을 참았고 나의 영광을 위하여 분노를 억제하였으며 너희를 멸하지 아니하였다.
- 나는 너희를 은처럼 불 속에서 녹여내고 고생의 도가니 속에서 너희를 단련시켰다.

- Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare it? I have shewed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou didst not know them.
- They are created now, and not from the beginning; even before the day when thou heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them.
- Yea, thou heardest not; yea, thou knewest not; yea, from that time that thine ear was not opened: for I knew that thou wouldest deal very treacherously, and wast called a transgressor from the womb.
- For my name's sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off.
- Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

- 내가 이렇게 한 것은 오로지 나 스스로를 위하는 마음에서였다. 어찌 나의 이름에 욕이 돌아오게 버려두랴? 어찌 나의 영광을 남에게 넘겨주랴?
- 내 말을 들어라. 야곱아! 내가 불러 세운 이스라엘아! 나는 한결같다. 내가 시작이요, 내가 마감이다.
- 이 손으로 땅의 기초를 놓았다. 이 오른손으로 하늘을 펼쳤다. 내가 부르면 나와 서지 않을 자 없다.
- 모두들 모여와 내 말을 들어라. '나의 친구가 나의 뜻을 이루어 바빌론과 갈대아를 짓부수리라.' 그들 가운데 누가 이 일을 미리 알려주었더냐?
- 나다, 내가 바로 그에게 이런 명령을 내렸다. 그를 불러온 것도 바로 나다. 그를 이끌어들이고 앞길을 터준 것도 나다.

- For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another.
- Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.
- Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.
- All ye, assemble yourselves, and hear; which among them hath declared these things? The LORD hath loved him: he will do his pleasure on Babylon, and his arm shall be on the Chaldeans.
- I, even I, have spoken; yea, I have called him: I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous.

- 이리로 가까이 와서 내 말을 들어라. 처음부터 나는 숨어서 수군거리지 않았다. 이 모든 일이 이루어질 때, 바로 현장에 나는 있었다." 이제 주 야훼께서 당신의 영을 주시어 나를 보내신다.
- 너를 구원하시는 야훼, 이스라엘의 거룩하신 이께서 말씀하신다. "나 야훼가 너의 하느님이다. 네가 잘되도록 가르치는 너의 스승이요, 네가 걸어야 할 길로 인도하는 너의 길잡이다.
- 네가 만일 나의 명령을 마음에 두었더라면 너의 평화는 강물처럼 넘쳐흐르고, 너의 정의는 바다 물결처럼 넘실거렸으리라.
- 너의 후예는 모래 벌판과 같고 너의 소생들은 모래알만큼 많아졌으리라. 네 이름이 내 앞에서 꺼지지도, 없어지지도 아니하였으리라."
- 바빌론에서 빠져 나오너라. 갈대아 사람들을 뿌리치고 도망쳐라. 기쁜 소식을 전하여라, 선포하여라. 세상 끝까지 퍼뜨려라. "야훼께서 당신의 종 야곱을 구원하신다."

- Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me.
- Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.
- O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:
- Thy seed also had been as the sand, and the offspring of thy bowels like the gravel thereof; his name should not have been cut off nor destroyed from before me.
- Go ye forth of Babylon, flee ye from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing declare ye, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth; say ye, The LORD hath redeemed his servant Jacob.

- 사람들은 그를 따라 사막을 지나가면서도 목마르지 아니하였다. 그가 그들을 위하여 바위에서 샘이 솟게 해주셨다. 바위를 쪼개시니 물이 터져 나왔다.
- 야훼께서 불의한 자에게 이르신다 "잘되려니 생각 마라."

- And they thirsted not when he led them through the deserts: he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them: he clave the rock also, and the waters gushed out.
- There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.
