- 나는 무엇보다도 먼저 모든 사람을 위해서 간구와 기원과 간청과 감사의 기도를 드리라고 권하는 바입니다.
- 왕들과 높은 지위에 있는 모든 사람들을 위해서도 기도하시오. 그래야 우리가 조용하고 평화롭게 살면서 아주 경건하고도 근엄한 신앙 생활을 할 수 있을 것입니다.
- 이렇게 기도하는 것은 좋은 일이며 우리 구세주 하느님을 기쁘게 해드리는 일입니다.
- 하느님께서는 모든 사람이 다 구원을 받게 되고 진리를 알게 되기를 바라십니다.
- 하느님은 한 분뿐이시고 하느님과 사람 사이의 중재자도 한 분뿐이신데 그분이 바로 사람으로 오셨던 그리스도 예수이십니다.

- I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
- For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
- For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
- Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
- For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

- 그분은 자기 자신을 모든 사람을 위한 대속물로 바치셨습니다. 이렇게 해서 하느님의 뜻을 적절한 시기에 분명히 나타내 주셨습니다.
- 나는 그리스도를 전하는 전도자와 사도로 임명을 받았으며 이방인들에게 믿음과 진리를 가르치는 교사가 되었습니다. 나는 거짓말을 하는 것이 아니라 참말을 하고 있습니다.
- 어느 예배소에서나 남자들이 성을 내거나 다투거나 하는 일이 없이 깨끗한 손을 쳐들어 기도하기를 바랍니다.

- Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.
