- 그러므로 성령께서는 이렇게 말씀하십니다. "너희가 오늘 하느님의 음성을 듣거든
- 광야에서 유혹을 받고 반역하던 때처럼 완악한 마음을 품지 마라.
- 너희 조상들은 사십 년 동안이나 하느님께서 하시는 일을 보고도 하느님을 시험삼아 떠보았다.
- 그러므로 하느님께서 그 세대를 보시고 노하시며 이렇게 말씀하셨다. '그들은 언제나 마음이 빗나가서 나의 길을 알지 못하였다.
- 내가 노하여 맹세한 대로 그들은 결코 내 안식처에 들어오지 못하리라.'"

- Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
- Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
- When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
- Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
- So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)

- 형제 여러분, 여러분 중에는 믿지 않는 악한 마음을 품고 살아 계신 하느님께로부터 떨어져 나가는 사람이 없도록 조심하십시오.
- 성서에 "오늘"이라고 한 말은 우리에게도 해당하는 말이니 날마다 서로 격려해서 아무도 죄의 속임수에 넘어가 고집부리는 일이 없도록 하십시오.
- 우리가 처음의 확신을 끝까지 지켜 나가면 그리스도와 함께 상속자가 될 수 있습니다.
- 성서에도 이런 말씀이 있습니다. "너희가 오늘 하느님의 음성을 듣거든 반역하던 때처럼 완악한 마음을 품지 마라."
- 그분의 음성을 듣고도 반역한 자들은 누구였습니까? 모두 모세의 인도를 받아 이집트를 빠져 나온 사람들이 아니었습니까?

- Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
- But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
- For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
- While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
- For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.

- 사십 년 동안이나 하느님을 노엽게 한 사람은 누구였습니까? 죄를 지은 자들이 아니었습니까? 그들은 죽어서 시체가 광야에 널려 있었습니다.
- 하느님께서 결코 당신의 안식처에 들어가지 못하리라고 하신 것은 누구에게 하신 맹세였습니까? 순종하지 않는 자들에게 하신 것이 아닙니까?
- 그러니 그들이 안식처에 들어가지 못한 것은 결국은 믿지 않았던 탓이라는 것을 알 수 있습니다.

- But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
- And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
- So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
