에스겔

  앗수르가 신흥 바벨론 제국에 의해 무너져 가는 시기에 부름받은 에스겔은 바벨론의 포로된 백성들에게 완전하고 최종적인 회복을 제시하며 위로하고 있다. 같은 시대의 예레미야가 예루살렘에서 멸망을 선포하는 동안, 에스겔은 현재 이스라엘이 받고 있는 형벌이 개인의 죄로 인한 결과임을 강조하면서 이스라엘이 반드시 회복된다는 희망을 심어 주고 있다.

  1장부터 24장까지는 유다와 예루살렘에 대한 하나님의 심판에 대한 경고, 25장부터 32장까지는 이방에 대한 심판 선포, 33장부터 39장에서는 가까운 장래에 이루어질 이스라엘의 회복과 승리에 대한 예언, 그리고 40장부터 48장까지는 먼 미래에 이루어질 메시아 왕국에서 성취될 일을 선포하고 있다.

 

 

에스겔 1:1-3:27

 에스겔에게 환상을 보여 주신 하나님께서는 그를 선지자로 부르셔서 바벨론에서 포로 생활을 하는 이스라엘 백성에게 하나님의 말씀을 전하는 사명을 주셨다. 그리고 이 소명을 확증시키기 위해 그에게 두루마리를 받아 먹는 환상을 체험케 하셨다. 뿐만 아니라 하나님께서는 에스겔에게 능력을 주시고 이스라엘 민족의 파수꾼으로 삼으셨다.
  
  에스겔이 본 환상(1:1-1:28)    
 
  1. 삼십년 되던 사월 오일이었다. 그 때 나는 그발 강 가에서 포로들 속에 끼여 있다가 하늘이 열리며 나타나는 신비스런 광경의 발현을 보게 되었다.
  2. 그 달 오일은 바로 여호야긴 왕이 사로잡혀 온 지 오년째 되는 날이었다.
  3. 그 날 부지의 아들 에제키엘 사제가 바빌론의 그발 강 가에서 야훼의 말씀을 받았다. 거기에서 그는 야훼의 손에 잡혔던 것이다.
  4. 그 순간 북쪽에서 폭풍이 불어오는 광경이 눈앞에 펼쳐졌다. 구름이 막 밀려오는데 번갯불이 번쩍이어 사방이 환해졌다. 그 한가운데에는 불이 있고 그 속에서 놋쇠 같은 것이 빛났다.
  5. 또 그 한가운데는 짐승 모양이면서 사람의 모습을 갖춘 것이 넷 있었는데
  1. Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.
  2. In the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin's captivity,
  3. The word of the LORD came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the LORD was there upon him.
  4. And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.
  5. Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man.
  1. 각각 얼굴이 넷이요 날개도 넷이었다.
  2. 다리는 곧고 발굽은 소 발굽 같았으며 닦아놓은 놋쇠처럼 윤이 났다.
  3. 네 짐승 옆구리에 달린 네 날개 밑으로 사람의 손이 보였다. 넷이 다 얼굴과 날개가 따로따로 있었다.
  4. 날개를 서로서로 맞대고 가는데 돌지 않고 곧장 앞으로 움직이게 되어 있었다.
  5. 그 얼굴 생김새로 말하면, 넷 다 사람 얼굴인데 오른쪽에는 사자 얼굴이 있었고 왼쪽에는 소 얼굴이 있었다. 또 넷 다 독수리 얼굴도 하고 있었다.
  1. And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings.
  2. And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf's foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.
  3. And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings.
  4. Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward.
  5. As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.
  1. 날개를 공중으로 펴서 두 날개를 서로 맞대고, 두 날개로는 몸을 가리고
  2. 돌지 않고 앞으로 날``````아가는데, 바람 부는 쪽을 향해 곧장 앞으로 움직이게 되어 있었다.
  3. 그 동물들 한가운데 활활 타는 숯불 같은 모양이 보였는데 그것이 마치 횃불처럼 그 동물들 사이를 왔다갔다 하고 있었다. 그 불은 번쩍번쩍 빛났고, 그 불에서 번개가 튀어나왔다.
  4. 그 불은 번개처럼 이리 번쩍 저리 번쩍 하였다.
  5. 그 짐승들을 바라보자니까, 그 네 짐승 옆 땅바닥에 바퀴가 하나씩 있는 게 보였다.
  1. Thus were their faces: and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.
  2. And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went.
  3. As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning.
  4. And the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.
  5. Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures, with his four faces.
  1. 그 바퀴들은 넷 다 같은 모양으로 감람석처럼 빛났고 바퀴 속에 또 바퀴가 있어서 돌아가듯 되어 있었는데
  2. 이렇게 사방 어디로 가든지 떠날 때 돌지 않고 갈 수 있게 되어 있었다.
  3. 그 네 바퀴마다 불쑥 솟은 데가 있고 그 둘레에는 눈이 하나 가득 박혀 있었다.
  4. 그 짐승들이 움직이면 옆에 있던 바퀴도 움직이고 짐승들이 땅에서 떠오르면 바퀴도 떠올랐다.
  5. 그 짐승들은 바람 부는 쪽으로 움직였는데, 바퀴에는 짐승의 기운이 올라 있어서 바퀴도 함께 떠올랐다.
  1. The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the colour of a beryl: and they four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel.
  2. When they went, they went upon their four sides: and they turned not when they went.
  3. As for their rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rings were full of eyes round about them four.
  4. And when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.
  5. Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
  1. 그 바퀴에는 짐승의 기운이 올라 있어서 짐승들이 움직이면 바퀴들도 움직이고 짐승들이 멈추면, 바퀴들도 멈추었다. 짐승들이 땅에서 떠오르면, 바퀴들도 함께 떠올랐다.
  2. 그 짐승들의 머리 위에는 창공 같은 덮개가 수정같이 환히 빛나며 머리 위에 펼쳐져 있었다.
  3. 그 창공 밑에서 짐승들은 날개가 서로 맞닿게 두 날개를 펴고 나머지 두 날개로는 몸을 가리고 있었다.
  4. 짐승들이 나느라고 날개를 치면 그 날개 치는 소리가 큰 물소리 같았고 전능하신 분의 음성 같았으며 싸움터에서 나는 고함 소리처럼 요란하였다. 그러다가 멈출 때에는 날개를 접었다.
  5. 머리 위에 있는 덮개 위에서 소리가 나면 날개를 접었다.
  1. When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
  2. And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads of the living creature was as the colour of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads above.
  3. And under the firmament were their wings straight, the one toward the other: every one had two, which covered on this side, and every one had two, which covered on that side, their bodies.
  4. And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings.
  5. And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings.
  1. 머리 위 덮개 위에는 청옥 같은 것으로 된 옥좌같이 보이는 것이 있었다. 높이 옥좌 같은 것 위에는 사람 같은 모습이 보였다.
  2. 그 모습은 허리 위는 놋쇠 같아 안팎이 불처럼 환했고, 허리 아래는 사방으로 뻗는 불빛처럼 보였다.
  3. 사방으로 뻗는 그 불빛은 비 오는 날 구름에 나타나는 무지개처럼 보였다. 마치 야훼의 영광처럼 보였다. 그것을 보고 땅에 엎드리자, 말소리가 들려왔다.
  1. And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.
  2. And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about.
  3. As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.
 
  에스겔의 소명(2:1-3:27)    
 
  1. "너 사람아, 일어서라. 내가 너에게 할 말이 있다."
  2. 그는 나에게 기운을 불어넣으시어 일으켜 세우시고 말씀을 들려주셨다.
  3. "너 사람아! 나에게 반항하는 역적의 무리, 이스라엘 백성에게 내가 너를 보낸다. 그들은 조상 때부터 오늘까지 나를 거역하기만 하였다.
  4. 그 낯가죽이 두꺼운 자들, 그 고집이 센 자들, 그런 자들에게 내가 너를 보낸다. '주 야훼께서 이렇게 말씀하신다.' 하고 내 말을 전하여라.
  5. 본래 반항하는 일밖에 모르는 족속이라 듣지도 않겠지만, 듣든 안 듣든 내 말을 전하는 자가 저희 가운데 있다는 것만은 알게 해주어야 하지 않겠느냐?
  1. And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee.
  2. And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.
  3. And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day.
  4. For they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD.
  5. And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.
  1. 그러니 너 사람아, 그런 자들을 무서워하지 마라. 그들이 무슨 말을 하더라도 떨지 마라. 그들은 너를 반대하고 배척할 것이다. 그리고 너를 가시 방석에 앉힐 것이다. 그러나 무슨 말을 하더라도 무서워하지 마라. 본래 반항하는 일밖에 모르는 족속이니, 그런 자들 앞에서 떨 것 없다.
  2. 본래 반항하는 일밖에 모르는 족속이라 듣지도 않겠지만 듣든 안 듣든 너는 내 말을 전하여라.
  3. 너 사람아, 내가 하는 말을 들어라. 너만은 저 반항하는 일밖에 모르는 족속처럼 나에게 반항하는 자가 되지 말고 입을 벌려 내가 주는 것을 받아먹어라."
  4. 내가 바라보니, 한 손이 나에게 뻗쳐 있는데 그 손에는 두루마리 책이 들려 있었다.
  5. 그분이 그 두루마리를 펴보이시는데 앞뒤에 글이 적혀 있었다. 거기에는 구슬프게 울부짖으며 엮어대는 상여 소리가 기록되어 있었다.
  1. And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.
  2. And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.
  3. But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee.
  4. And when I looked, behold, an hand was sent unto me; and, lo, a roll of a book was therein;
  5. And he spread it before me; and it was written within and without: and there was written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe.
 
 
  1. 그것을 보이시고 그분은 "받아먹어라. 너 사람아, 이 두루마리를 먹어라." 하고 말씀하셨다. "그리고 가서 이것을 이스라엘 족속에게 일러주어라."
  2. 내가 입을 벌리자 그 두루마리를 입에 넣어주시면서 그분은
  3. 말씀하셨다. "너 사람아, 내가 주는 이 두루마리를 배부르게 먹어라." 그리하여 그것을 받아먹으니 마치 꿀처럼 입에 달았다.
  4. 그분이 말씀하셨다. "너 사람아, 어서 가서 이스라엘 족속에게 내 말을 전하여라.
  5. 나는 귀에 익지 않은 말로 떠듬거리는 백성들에게 너를 보내는 것이 아니라, 바로 이스라엘 족속에게 너를 보낸다.
  1. Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel.
  2. So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.
  3. And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.
  4. And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.
  5. For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel;
  1. 들어보지 못한 귀에 익지 않은 말로 떠듬거리는 강대국들에게 너를 보내는 것이 아니다. 내가 너를 그들에게 보냈더면, 그들은 네 말을 들었을 것이다.
  2. 그러나 이스라엘 족속은 아예 내 말을 들을 마음이 없다. 이스라엘 족속은 모두 얼굴에 쇠가죽을 쓴 고집이 센 것들이라, 네 말을 들으려 하지 않을 것이다.
  3. 보아라, 내가 네 얼굴도 그들의 얼굴처럼 두껍게 만들어주리라. 그리하면 네 얼굴도 쇠가죽을 쓴 그들의 얼굴처럼 낯빛 하나 변하지 않아도 되리라.
  4. 네 이마를 바윗돌보다 단단한 부싯돌처럼 만들어주리라. 그것들은 본래 반항하는 일밖에 모르는 족속이다. 그런 자들을 무서워하지 마라."
  5. 계속하여 그분은 나에게 말씀하셨다. "너 사람아, 내가 너에게 하는 말을 모두 귀담아듣고 마음에 새겨두어라.
  1. Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.
  2. But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.
  3. Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.
  4. As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.
  5. Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears.
  1. 사로잡혀 온 네 동포에게 가서 일러라. 그들이 듣든 말든 너는 '주 야훼께서 이렇게 말씀하신다.' 하며 내 말을 전하여라."
  2. 그분의 기운이 나를 쳐들어 올리는데, 마구 진동하는 소리가 뒤에서 들려왔다. 그것은 야훼의 영광이 그 있던 자리에서 떠오르면서
  3. 짐승들이 서로 날개를 침과 동시에 바퀴가 도는 소리였다. 이렇게 마구 진동하는 소리가 나는데,
  4. 그분의 기운이 나를 쳐들어 옮겨갔다. 야훼의 손에 꽉 붙잡혀가는데 나는 그냥 불안하고 초조한 심정이었다.
  5. 나는 내 겨레가 사로잡혀 와서 살고 있는 그발 강 가 텔아비브에 이르렀다. 나는 얼빠진 사람이 되어 칠 일간 그들 가운데 앉아 있었다.
  1. And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear.
  2. Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of the LORD from his place.
  3. I heard also the noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels over against them, and a noise of a great rushing.
  4. So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.
  5. Then I came to them of the captivity at Telabib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.
  1. 칠 일이 지난 다음에 야훼께서 나에게 말씀을 내리셨다.
  2. "너 사람아, 내가 너를 이스라엘 족속의 파수꾼으로 세운다. 너는 나의 입에서 떨어지는 말을 듣고 나 대신 그들을 깨우쳐주어야 한다.
  3. 너는 못되게 구는 자들은 죽는다는 나의 선언을 그대로 전하여 깨우쳐주기만 하면 된다. 못되게 구는 자에게 그 그릇된 길을 떠나 살 길을 찾으라고 일러주어야 한다. 그러지 않으면 그는 제 죄로 죽겠지만, 너도 내 앞에서 그의 죽음에 대한 책임을 면하지 못할 것이다.
  4. 그러나 네가 못되게 구는 자를 일깨워주었는데도 그가 못된 생각과 그릇된 길을 버리고 돌아서지 않는다면, 그는 제 죄로 죽겠고 너는 죽음을 면할 것이다.
  5. 바로 살던 사람도 그 바른 길을 버리고 그릇된 길에 들어서면, 나는 그 앞에 올무를 놓아 잡으리라. 네가 깨우쳐주지 않아서 그 때문에 바로 산 보람도 없이 그가 제 죄로 죽게 된다면, 너는 내 앞에서 그의 죽음에 대한 책임을 면하지 못할 것이다.
  1. And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
  2. Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.
  3. When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
  4. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
  5. Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
  1. 그러나 네가 올바로 사는 사람에게 잘못에 빠지지 않도록 일깨워주어서 그 때문에 그가 잘못에 빠지지 않게 된다면, 그도 깨우침을 받아 살게 되고 너도 죽음을 면하게 될 것이다."
  2. 야훼께서 거기에서 나를 손으로 억세게 잡으시며 말씀하셨다. "너는 일어나 들로 나가라. 내가 거기에서 너에게 일러줄 말이 있다."
  3. 일어나 들로 나가보니, 전에 그발 강 가에서 나타났던 것과 같은 야훼의 영광이 거기에 나타나 있었다. 내가 땅에 엎드리자,
  4. 야훼께서 당신의 기운을 나에게 불어넣으시고 나를 일으켜 세우시며 이르셨다. "너는 집에 가서 꼼짝 말고 있어라.
  5. 너 사람아, 내가 너를 사람들 있는 데로 나오지 못하도록 포승으로 묶어놓으리라.
  1. Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.
  2. And the hand of the LORD was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with thee.
  3. Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of the LORD stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chebar: and I fell on my face.
  4. Then the spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thine house.
  5. But thou, O son of man, behold, they shall put bands upon thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go out among them:
  1. 이 족속은 본래 반역하는 일밖에 모르는 것들이라, 나는 네 혀를 입천장에 붙여 말을 못하게 하여 그들을 꾸짖지 못하게 하리라.
  2. 그러나 내가 너에게 말해 주며 네 입을 열어줄 때가 올 것이다. 이 족속은 본래 반역하는 일밖에 모르는 것들이라 들으면 좋지만, 귀를 막고 듣지 않더라도 '주 야훼께서 이렇게 말씀하신다.' 하며 내 말을 전하여라.
  1. And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they are a rebellious house.
  2. But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.
