- 백성이 많은 것은 왕의 자랑이요, 국민이 적은 것은 임금의 낭패이다.
- 성을 잘 내지 않는 사람이야말로 현명한 사람이다. 성급한 사람은 어리석은 사람이다.
- 마음이 편안하면 몸에 생기가 돌고 마음이 타면 뼛속이 썩는다.
- 가난한 사람을 억누름은 그를 지으신 이를 모욕함이요 없는 사람 동정함은 그를 지으신 이를 높임이다.
