- 임금의 기쁨은 봄비를 실어오는 구름과 같아 그 얼굴에 화기가 돌아야 모두가 살게 된다.
- 정금보다는 지혜를 얻는 것이 좋고 순은보다는 슬기를 얻는 것이 낫다.
- 곧은 길을 가면 재앙을 면하고 제 길을 지키면 제 목숨을 보존한다.
- 거만엔 재난이 따르고 불손엔 멸망이 따른다.
- 거만한 자들과 어울려 전리품을 나누는 것보다 마음을 낮추어 낮은 사람들과 어울리는 것이 낫다.
