- 슬기로운 종은 주인 집 방탕한 아들을 다스리고 그 아들들과 함께 유산을 나누어 받는다.
- 도가니에서 금이나 은을 녹여내듯 야훼께서는 사람의 마음을 시험하신다.
- 나쁜 사람은 심술궂은 소리에 솔깃하고 거짓말쟁이는 모함하는 말에 귀를 기울인다.
- 가난한 사람을 조롱함은 그를 지으신 이를 모욕함이다. 남 망하는 것을 좋아하면 벌을 받고야 만다.
