- 악한 사람의 마음은 못된 일에 쏠려 그 이웃에게도 호감을 주지 못한다.
- 거만한 자가 벌받으면 어수룩한 자가 지혜를 얻고 현자가 가르침을 받으면 지식이 더해진다.
- 의로우신 하느님은 악인의 마음을 헤아리시고 악인을 내던져 망하게 하신다.
- 가난한 사람의 호소에 귀를 막으면 제가 울부짖을 때 들어줄 이 또한 없다.
- 은밀히 안기는 선물은 화를 가라앉히고 몰래 바치는 뇌물은 거센 분노를 사그라뜨린다.
