아모스 4:1-6:14

 아모스는 바산의 암소들로 비유되는 북이스라엘의 상류층 사람들에 대한 심판을 선포한 후, 여러 재앙을 당해도 도무지 회개하지 않고 형식적으로만 하나님을 섬기는 북이스라엘의 전 국민에게 심판을 선포하였다. 그는 북이스라엘의 멸망에 대한 애가를 불렀으며, 피할 수 없는 야웨의 날의 심판을 알렸다.
  
  북이스라엘의 심판(4:1-6:14)    
 
  1. 바산 풀밭의 암소들아, 이 말을 들어라. 사마리아 언덕에서 노니는 여인들아, 남편을 졸라 술을 가져다 마시며 힘없고 가난한 자를 짓밟는 자들아,
  2. 주 야훼께서 당신의 거룩하심을 걸고 맹세하신다. "너희를 갈고리로 끌어내고 너희 자식들을 작살로 찍어낼 날이 이르렀다.
  3. 무너진 성 틈으로 하나씩 끌어내다, 거름더미에 던지리라. -야훼의 말씀이시다.
  4. 베델에 가서 죄나 지어라. 길갈에 가서 실컷 죄나 지어라. 아침마다 희생제물을 드리고 사흘마다 십분의 일세를 바쳐보아라.
  5. 누룩 든 빵을 감사제물로 살라 바치고 자원제물을 수선스럽게 드려보아라. 이스라엘 백성들아, 너희가 즐겨하는 짓이란 고작 이런 것 아니냐? -주 야훼의 말씀이시다.
  1. Hear this word, ye kine of Bashan, that are in the mountain of Samaria, which oppress the poor, which crush the needy, which say to their masters, Bring, and let us drink.
  2. The Lord GOD hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that he will take you away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks.
  3. And ye shall go out at the breaches, every cow at that which is before her; and ye shall cast them into the palace, saith the LORD.
  4. Come to Bethel, and transgress; at Gilgal multiply transgression; and bring your sacrifices every morning, and your tithes after three years:
  5. And offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven, and proclaim and publish the free offerings: for this liketh you, O ye children of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.
  1. 그래서 나는 곳곳마다, 성읍마다 양식이 떨어져 너희를 굶주리게 하였다. 그래도 너희는 나에게 돌아오지 않았다. -야훼의 말씀이시다.
  2. 나는 추수 석 달 전에 내릴 비를 내리지 않았다. 어떤 성읍에는 비를 내리고 어떤 성읍에는 비를 내리지 않았다. 어떤 밭에는 비를 내리고 어떤 밭에는 비를 내리지 않아 곡식이 말랐다.
  3. 이 성읍 저 성읍에서 어느 한 성읍으로 물을 얻으러 비틀거리며 몰려들었어도 누구 하나 목을 축이지 못하였다. 그래도 너희는 나에게 돌아오지 않았다. -야훼의 말씀이시다.
  4. 이삭은 그 속이 비거나 아니면 깜부기가 되지 않더냐? 너희의 동산과 포도원은 황폐해지고 무화과, 올리브 나무는 메뚜기가 갉아먹었다. 그래도 너희는 나에게 돌아오지 않았다. -야훼의 말씀이시다.
  5. 나는 이집트에 내린 염병을 너희에게도 내렸다. 젊은 용사들을 군마와 함께 칼로 쳐죽여 진지마다 악취가 코를 들 수 없이 풍겼건만 너희는 나에게 돌아오지 않았다. -야훼의 말씀이시다.
  1. And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
  2. And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.
  3. So two or three cities wandered unto one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
  4. I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the palmerworm devoured them: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
  5. I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
  1. 나는 소돔과 고모라를 뒤엎어버리듯, 너희를 불 속에서 끄집어낸 부지깽이처럼 만들리라. 그래도 너희는 나에게 돌아오지 않을 것이다. -야훼의 말씀이시다.
  2. 그런즉 이스라엘아, 나는 너에게 이렇게 하기로 하였다. 내가 기어이 그리하리니, 이스라엘아, 네 하느님과 만날 채비를 하여라."
  3. 아, 천둥을 빚어내시고 바람을 불러일으키시며 당신의 뜻을 사람들에게 알리시는 이, 새벽을 깜깜하게 하시고 산등성이를 밟고 나가시는 이, 그 이름 야훼, 만군의 하느님이시라.
  1. I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
  2. Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.
  3. For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.
 
 
  1. 들어라, 이스라엘 사람들아, 내가 너희를 두고 부르는 이 만가를.
  2. 처녀 이스라엘이 죽었구나. 다시 일어나지 못하게 되었구나. 그 쓰러진 곳이 타향도 아니건만 일으켜줄 사람 하나 없구나.
  3. "나 야훼가 이스라엘 가문에게 이른다. 천 명이 출정하던 성읍에 백 명만 남고, 백 명이 출정하던 성읍에 열 명만 남으리라.
  4. 나 야훼가 이스라엘 가문에게 선고한다. 살고 싶으냐? 나를 찾아오너라.
  5. 베델을 찾지 말고 길갈로도 가지 말고 브엘세바로도 건너가지 마라. 길갈 주민은 끝내 잡혀가고 베델은 빈터만 남으리라.
  1. Hear ye this word which I take up against you, even a lamentation, O house of Israel.
  2. The virgin of Israel is fallen; she shall no more rise: she is forsaken upon her land; there is none to raise her up.
  3. For thus saith the Lord GOD; The city that went out by a thousand shall leave an hundred, and that which went forth by an hundred shall leave ten, to the house of Israel.
  4. For thus saith the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:
  5. But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beersheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nought.
  1. 살고 싶으냐? 야훼를 찾아라. 그러지 아니하면 요셉 가문에 불같이 내리덮치어 살라버리리니, 베델에서 그 불을 끌 자 없으리라."
  2. 저주받아라! 너희, 공평을 뒤엎어 소태같이 쓰게 만들고 정의를 땅에 떨어뜨리는 자들아.
  3. 묘성 성좌, 삼성 성좌를 만드시고 짙은 어둠을 아침으로 바꾸시는 이, 낮을 밤처럼 어둡게 하시며 바닷물을 불러 올려 땅에 쏟으시는 이, 그의 이름 야훼시라.
  4. 염소 성좌에 이어 황소 성좌를 올라오게 하시고 포도 따는 처녀별이 뜨면서 황소 성좌를 지게 하시는 이,
  5. 성문 앞에서 시비를 올바로 가리는 사람을 미워하고 바른 말 하는 사람을 싫어하는 자들아.
  1. Seek the LORD, and ye shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel.
  2. Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth,
  3. Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:
  4. That strengtheneth the spoiled against the strong, so that the spoiled shall come against the fortress.
  5. They hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly.
  1. 너희가 힘없는 자를 마구 짓밟으며 그들이 지은 곡식을 거둬가는구나. 너희는 돌을 다듬어 집을 지어도 거기에서 살지 못하고 포도원을 탐스럽게 가꾸고도 거기에서 난 포도주를 마시지 못하리라.
  2. "너희가 나를 거슬러 얼마나 엄청난 죄를 지었는지, 나는 죄다 알고 있다. 죄없는 사람을 학대하며 뇌물을 받고 성문 앞에서 가난한 사람을 물리치는 자들아!
  3. 너무도 세상이 악해져서 뜻 있는 사람이 입을 다무는 시대가 되었구나."
  4. 살고 싶으냐? 악을 버리고 선을 행하여라. 너희의 말대로 만군의 하느님 야훼께서 너희와 함께 계시리라.
  5. 악을 미워하고 선을 사랑하여라. 성문 앞에서 법을 세워라. 그래야 만군의 하느님 야훼께서 일부 살아 남은 요셉 가문을 불쌍히 보아주시리라.
  1. Forasmuch therefore as your treading is upon the poor, and ye take from him burdens of wheat: ye have built houses of hewn stone, but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not drink wine of them.
  2. For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right.
  3. Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time.
  4. Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken.
  5. Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
  1. 그런즉 주 만군의 하느님 야훼께서 말씀하신다. "내가 너희 가운데를 지나가는 날, 장터마다 울음 소리가 터지리라. 거리마다 '아이고, 아이고!' 곡하는 소리가 터지리라. 농군을 불러다 울게 하며 울음꾼을 불러다 울게 하리라. 포도원마다 울음 소리 터지리라."
  3. 저주받아라! 너희 야훼께서 오실 날을 기다리는 자들아. 야훼께서 오시는 날, 무슨 수라도 날 듯싶으냐? 그 날은 빛이 꺼져 깜깜하리라.
  4. 사자를 피하다가 곰을 만나고 집 안으로 피해 들어가 벽을 짚었다가 뱀에게 물리리라.
  5. 야훼께서 오시는 날, 그 날이 밝은 날일 줄 아느냐? 아니다. 그 날은 다만 깜깜할 뿐 한 가닥 빛도 없으리라.
  1. Therefore the LORD, the God of hosts, the LORD, saith thus; Wailing shall be in all streets; and they shall say in all the highways, Alas! alas! and they shall call the husbandman to mourning, and such as are skilful of lamentation to wailing.
  2. And in all vineyards shall be wailing: for I will pass through thee, saith the LORD.
  3. Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.
  4. As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.
  5. Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?
  1. "너희의 순례절이 싫어 나는 얼굴을 돌린다. 축제 때마다 바치는 분향제 냄새가 역겹구나.
  2. 너희가 바치는 번제물과 곡식제물이 나는 조금도 달갑지 않다. 친교제물로 바치는 살진 제물은 보기도 싫다. 거들떠보기도 싫다.
  3. 그 시끄러운 노랫소리를 집어치워라. 거문고 가락도 귀찮다.
  4. 다만 정의를 강물처럼 흐르게 하여라. 서로 위하는 마음 개울같이 넘쳐 흐르게 하여라.
  5. 이스라엘 백성들아! 너희가 사십 년 동안 광야에서 희생제물과 곡식제물을 나에게 바친 일이 있었느냐?
  1. I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.
  2. Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.
  3. Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.
  4. But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.
  5. Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?
  1. 그런데 너희가 별을 우상으로 만들어 받드는구나. 시끗 별을 왕삼아 메고 다니며 가이완 별을 신상으로 메고 다니는구나.
  2. 내가 너희를 다마스쿠스 저편으로 잡혀가게 하리라." -야훼의 말씀이시니, 그 이름 만군의 하느님이시다.
  1. But ye have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves.
  2. Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, saith the LORD, whose name is The God of hosts.
 
 
  1. 저주받아라! 시온을 믿고 안심하는 자들아, 언덕 위에 자리잡은 사마리아를 믿어 마음놓고 사는 자들아, 일등 민족이라고 으스대는 유지들아, 이스라엘 가문이 믿고 찾아가는 유지들아,
  2. 갈네로 찾아가 보아라. 거기서 큰 도시 하맛으로 가보아라. 불레셋 도시 갓으로도 내려가 보아라. 그 나라들이 너희보다 못하였더냐? 그 영토가 너희보다 작았더냐?
  3. 너희가 불길한 날을 밀어내려고 하나, 결국 호되게 맞을 날을 재촉하고 있구나.
  4. 상아 침상에서 뒹굴고 보료 위에서 기지개를 켜며 양떼 가운데서 양 새끼를 골라 잡아먹고 외양간에서 송아지를 잡아먹는 것들,
  5. 제가 마치 다윗이나 된 듯 악기를 새로 만들고 거문고를 뜯으며 제 멋에 겨워 흥얼거리는 것들,
  1. Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!
  2. Pass ye unto Calneh, and see; and from thence go ye to Hamath the great: then go down to Gath of the Philistines: be they better than these kingdoms? or their border greater than your border?
  3. Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near;
  4. That lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall;
  5. That chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David;
  1. 몸에는 값비싼 향유를 바르고 술은 대접으로 퍼 마시며 요셉 가문이 망하는 것쯤 아랑곳도 하지 않는 것들.
  2. 덕분에 이제 선참으로 끌려가리니 기지개 켜며 흥청대던 소리 간데없이 되리라.
  3. 주 야훼께서 당신 자신을 걸고 맹세하신다. "야곱의 거만한 태도가 밉살스럽고, 그 치솟은 궁궐들이 밉구나. 나는 이 도성을 없애버리리라.
  4. 하나밖에 없는 집에 겨우 열 사람 남았다 해도 그들마저 죽으리라.
  5. 장례를 치르는 친지가 시체를 실어내 오면서 안방에다 대고 또 없느냐고 물어 더 없다는 대답을 듣고서야 '하느님 맙소사!' 탄식할 것이다. 이렇게 되리라고 내가 이르지 않았느냐?
  1. That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.
  2. Therefore now shall they go captive with the first that go captive, and the banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed.
  3. The Lord GOD hath sworn by himself, saith the LORD the God of hosts, I abhor the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces: therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein.
  4. And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house, that they shall die.
  5. And a man's uncle shall take him up, and he that burneth him, to bring out the bones out of the house, and shall say unto him that is by the sides of the house, Is there yet any with thee? and he shall say, No. Then shall he say, Hold thy tongue: for we may not make mention of the name of the LORD.
  1. 고래등 같은 집을 쳐 돌무더기로 만들고 게딱지 같은 집은 가루를 만들리라.
  2. 말이 바위 위를 달리겠느냐? 소에 멍에를 씌워 바다를 갈겠느냐? 그런데 너희는 어찌하여 공평을 뒤엎어 독약을 만들고 정의에서 소태처럼 쓴 열매를 맺게 하느냐?"
  3. 로드발을 정복했다고 좋아하며 제 힘으로 카르나임을 차지했다고 뻐기는 자들아,
  4. 이스라엘 백성아, 나 이제 한 민족을 일으켜 너희를 치리라. -만군의 하느님 야훼의 말씀이시다. 그들은 하맛 어귀에서 아라바 개울에 이르기까지 너희를 쳐부수리라.
  1. For, behold, the LORD commandeth, and he will smite the great house with breaches, and the little house with clefts.
  2. Shall horses run upon the rock? will one plow there with oxen? for ye have turned judgment into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into hemlock:
  3. Ye which rejoice in a thing of nought, which say, Have we not taken to us horns by our own strength?
  4. But, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith the LORD the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entering in of Hemath unto the river of the wilderness.
