- "거짓 예언자들을 조심하여라. 그들은 양의 탈을 쓰고 너희에게 나타나지만 속에는 사나운 이리가 들어 있다.
- 너희는 행위를 보고 그들을 알게 될 것이다. 가시나무에서 어떻게 포도를 딸 수 있으며 엉겅퀴에서 어떻게 무화과를 딸 수 있겠느냐?
- 이와 같이 좋은 나무는 좋은 열매를 맺고 나쁜 나무는 나쁜 열매를 맺게 마련이다.
- 좋은 나무가 나쁜 열매를 맺을 수 없고 나쁜 나무가 좋은 열매를 맺을 수 없다.
- 좋은 열매를 맺지 못하는 나무는 모두 찍혀 불에 던져진다.

- "Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
- "You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they?
- "So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.
- "A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit.
- "Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

- 그러므로 너희는 그 행위를 보아 그들이 어떤 사람인지 알게 된다."
- "나더러 '주님, 주님!' 하고 부른다고 다 하늘 나라에 들어가는 것이 아니다. 하늘에 계신 내 아버지의 뜻을 실천하는 사람이라야 들어간다.
- 그 날에는 많은 사람이 나를 보고 '주님, 주님! 우리가 주님의 이름으로 예언을 하고 주님의 이름으로 마귀를 쫓아내고 또 주님의 이름으로 많은 기적을 행하지 않았습니까?' 하고 말할 것이다.
- 그러나 그 때에 나는 분명히 그들에게 '악한 일을 일삼는 자들아, 나에게서 물러가거라. 나는 너희를 도무지 알지 못한다.' 하고 말할 것이다."
- "그러므로 지금 내가 한 말을 듣고 그대로 실행하는 사람은 반석 위에 집을 짓는 슬기로운 사람과 같다.

- "So then, you will know them by their fruits.
- "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
- "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?'
- "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.'
- "Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.

- 비가 내려 큰물이 밀려오고 또 바람이 불어 들이쳐도 그 집은 반석 위에 세워졌기 때문에 무너지지 않는다.
- 그러나 지금 내가 한 말을 듣고도 실행하지 않는 사람은 모래 위에 집을 짓는 어리석은 사람과 같다.
- 비가 내려 큰물이 밀려오고 또 바람이 불어 들이치면 그 집은 여지없이 무너지고 말 것이다."
- 예수께서 이 말씀을 마치시자 군중은 그의 가르침을 듣고 놀랐다.
- 그 가르치시는 것이 율법학자들과는 달리 권위가 있기 때문이었다.

- "The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell--and great was its fall."
- When Jesus had finished these words, the crowds were amazed at His teaching;
- for He was teaching them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.
