출애굽기 5:1-6:30

 모세는 바로 앞에 서서 이스라엘 백성을 보내어 광야에서 하나님께 절기를 지키게 할 것을 요청했다. 그러나 바로는 오히려 이스라엘 백성들의 고역을 더욱 무겁게 하였다. 이에 실망한 모세가 하나님께 기도하자 하나님께서는 다시 한번 이스라엘 백성을 구하실 것을 확신시켜 주셨다.
  
  바로와의 1차 대면(5:1-5:23)    
 
  1. 그 뒤 모세와 아론이 파라오에게 가서 말하였다. "이스라엘의 하느님 야훼께서 '나의 백성이 내 앞에서 축제를 올리도록 광야로 내보내라.' 하고 말씀하셨습니다."
  2. 그러나 파라오는 "야훼가 누군데 내가 그의 말을 듣고 이스라엘을 내보내겠느냐? 나는 야훼를 알지도 못하거니와, 이스라엘을 내보낸다는 것은 당치도 않은 말이다." 하며 거절하였다.
  3. 그들이 말하였다. "히브리인의 하느님께서 우리를 찾아오시었습니다. 그러니, 우리가 광야로 사흘 길을 나가 우리 하느님 야훼께 제사를 드리도록 허락해 주십시오. 그러지 않으면 야훼께서 우리에게 질병을 내리시든지 전쟁의 피해를 입게 하든지 하실 것입니다."
  4. 그러나 이집트 왕은 호통을 쳤다. "너 모세와 아론은 어찌하여 이 백성이 일도 못하게 부추기느냐? 썩 물러가서 일이나 하여라."
  5. 파라오는 이어서 "저들이 이 땅의 백성보다도 더 불어났다. 그런데도 너희는 저들에게 노동을 시키지 말라는 거냐?" 하고 말하였다.
  1. And afterward Moses and Aaron came and said to Pharaoh, "Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, 'Let My people go that they may celebrate a feast to Me in the wilderness.'"
  2. But Pharaoh said, "Who is the LORD that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the LORD, and besides, I will not let Israel go."
  3. Then they said, "The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Please, let us go a three days' journey into the wilderness that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God, otherwise He will fall upon us with pestilence or with the sword."
  4. But the king of Egypt said to them, "Moses and Aaron, why do you draw the people away from their work? Get back to your labors!"
  5. Again Pharaoh said, "Look, the people of the land are now many, and you would have them cease from their labors!"
  1. 파라오는 그 날로 이스라엘 백성을 혹사하는 모든 공사 감독과 현장 감독들에게 명령을 내렸다.
  2. "너희는 이제부터 이 백성들이 흙벽돌을 만드는 데 쓸 짚을 대주지 마라. 저희들이 돌아다니며 짚을 모아오게 하여라.
  3. 그렇다고 생산량을 줄여서도 안 된다. 지금까지 생산하던 것만큼 만들어내게 하여야 한다. 저들이 일하기가 싫어서 '우리 하느님께 제사를 드리러 가게 해달라.'고 떠들고 있으니
  4. 전보다 더 심한 일거리를 주어라. 눈코 뜰 새 없이 일을 시켜 허튼소리에 귀를 기울일 겨를을 주지 마라."
  5. 이스라엘 백성을 혹사하는 공사 감독과 현장 감독들은 곧 물러나와 선포하였다. "어명이시다. 다시는 짚을 주지 않을 터이니,
  1. So the same day Pharaoh commanded the taskmasters over the people and their foremen, saying,
  2. "You are no longer to give the people straw to make brick as previously; let them go and gather straw for themselves.
  3. "But the quota of bricks which they were making previously, you shall impose on them; you are not to reduce any of it. Because they are lazy, therefore they cry out, 'Let us go and sacrifice to our God.'
  4. "Let the labor be heavier on the men, and let them work at it so that they will pay no attention to false words."
  5. So the taskmasters of the people and their foremen went out and spoke to the people, saying, "Thus says Pharaoh, 'I am not going to give you any straw.
  1. 너희가 돌아다니며 눈에 띄는 대로 짚을 모아오너라. 그렇다고 너희 생산량이 줄어드는 것은 아니다."
  2. 이스라엘 백성은 이집트 땅에 두루 흩어져 짚여물로 쓸 짚을 모아들였다.
  3. 공사 감독들은 "너희는 짚을 공급받을 때와 다름없는 수량을 만들어내야 한다. 매일 그만큼씩 만들어라." 하며 그들을 몰아쳤다.
  4. 파라오의 공사 감독들은 백성을 감독하라고 내세운 이스라엘인 공사 감독들에게 "너희는 어찌하여 어제도 오늘도 흙벽돌을 그전처럼 제 수량을 만들어내지 못하느냐?" 하고 매를 들며 다그쳤다.
  5. 이스라엘인 현장 감독들이 파라오에게로 가서 항의하였다. "어찌하여 당신의 종들을 저렇게 하도록 내버려두십니까?
  1. 'You go and get straw for yourselves wherever you can find it, but none of your labor will be reduced.'"
  2. So the people scattered through all the land of Egypt to gather stubble for straw.
  3. The taskmasters pressed them, saying, "Complete your work quota, your daily amount, just as when you had straw."
  4. Moreover, the foremen of the sons of Israel, whom Pharaoh's taskmasters had set over them, were beaten and were asked, "Why have you not completed your required amount either yesterday or today in making brick as previously?"
  5. Then the foremen of the sons of Israel came and cried out to Pharaoh, saying, "Why do you deal this way with your servants?
  1. 당신의 종들은 짚도 주지 않으면서 벽돌을 만들라고 다그치고 있습니다. 우리는 이렇게 얻어맞았습니다. 잘못은 당신의 백성에게 있습니다."
  2. 그러자 파라오가 대답하였다. "이 게을러 빠진 것들아, 너희는 일하기가 싫어서 야훼께 제사를 드리러 가겠다는게 아니냐?
  3. 당장 물러가서 일이나 하여라. 짚을 공급받을 생각은 아예 하지 말되 흙벽돌은 지정한 수량을 만들어내야만 한다."
  4. 이스라엘 현장 감독들은 "날마다 만들어낼 벽돌의 책임 수량을 줄여줄 수 없다." 하는 말을 듣고 일이 난감하게 된 것을 알았다.
  5. 그들은 파라오 앞에서 물러나오다가 자기들을 기다리고 서 있는 모세와 아론을 보자
  1. "There is no straw given to your servants, yet they keep saying to us, 'Make bricks!' And behold, your servants are being beaten; but it is the fault of your own people."
  2. But he said, "You are lazy, very lazy; therefore you say, 'Let us go and sacrifice to the LORD.'
  3. "So go now and work; for you will be given no straw, yet you must deliver the quota of bricks."
  4. The foremen of the sons of Israel saw that they were in trouble because they were told, "You must not reduce your daily amount of bricks."
  5. When they left Pharaoh's presence, they met Moses and Aaron as they were waiting for them.
  1. 소리쳤다. "야훼께서 너희들을 내려다보시고 벌을 내려주셨으면 좋겠다. 파라오와 그의 신하들이 우리를 역겨워하게 된 것은 너희들 탓이다. 너희 때문에 그가 칼을 빼어 들고 우리를 치는 것이 아니냐?"
  2. 이 말을 듣고 모세는 야훼께 돌아와 호소하였다. "주여, 어찌하여 이 백성을 이렇듯이 괴롭히십니까? 왜 저를 이리로 보내셨습니까?
  3. 제가 파라오를 찾아가 당신의 이름으로 말한 뒤로 이 백성은 더욱 들볶이고 있습니다. 그런데도 당신께서는 당신의 백성을 건져줄 기미도 보이지 않으십니다."
  1. They said to them, "May the LORD look upon you and judge you, for you have made us odious in Pharaoh's sight and in the sight of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to kill us."
  2. Then Moses returned to the LORD and said, "O Lord, why have You brought harm to this people? Why did You ever send me?
  3. "Ever since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done harm to this people, and You have not delivered Your people at all."
 
  언약의 하나님(6:1-6:30)    
 
  1. 야훼께서 모세에게 이르셨다. "내가 파라오에게 어떻게 하는지 이제 네가 보게 되리라. 내가 손을 쓰기만 하면 그 강한 힘에 눌려 파라오가 이 백성을 내보내리라. 그들을 이 나라에서 내보내지 않고는 견디지 못하리라."
  2. 하느님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. "나는 야훼다.
  3. 나는 아브라함과 이사악과 야곱에게 전능의 신으로 나를 드러낸 일은 있지만 야훼라는 이름으로 나를 알린 일은 없었다.
  4. 또 나는 그들이 유랑민으로 몸붙여 살던 가나안 땅을 주기로 그들과 계약을 세웠다.
  5. 나는 이집트인들에게 혹사당하는 이스라엘 백성들의 신음 소리를 듣고 내가 세운 계약을 생각하였다.
  1. Then the LORD said to Moses, "Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh; for under compulsion he will let them go, and under compulsion he will drive them out of his land."
  2. God spoke further to Moses and said to him, "I am the LORD;
  3. and I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name, LORD, I did not make Myself known to them.
  4. "I also established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land in which they sojourned.
  5. "Furthermore I have heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, because the Egyptians are holding them in bondage, and I have remembered My covenant.
  1. 그러니 너는 이스라엘 백성에게 나의 말을 전하여라. '나는 야훼다. 내가 너희를 이집트인들의 종살이에서 빼내고 그 고역에서 건져내리라. 나의 팔을 펴서 무서운 심판을 내려 너희를 구해 내리라.
  2. 너희를 나의 백성으로 삼고 나는 너희의 하느님이 되어주리라. 그제야 너희는 나 야훼가 너희 하느님임을, 너희를 종으로 부리는 이집트인들의 손아귀에서 빼낸 하느님임을 알리라.
  3. 내가 아브라함과 이사악과 야곱에게 주겠다고 맹세한 가나안 땅으로 너희를 이끌어 그 곳을 차지하게 하리라. 나는 야훼다.'"
  4. 모세가 이스라엘 백성에게 그대로 전하였으나, 무서운 고역에 시달려 지칠 대로 지친 그들은 모세의 말을 들으려고도 하지 않았다.
  5. 야훼께서 모세에게 이르셨다.
  1. "Say, therefore, to the sons of Israel, 'I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their bondage I will also redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.
  2. 'Then I will take you for My people, and I will be your God; and you shall know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
  3. 'I will bring you to the land which I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and I will give it to you for a possession; I am the LORD.'"
  4. So Moses spoke thus to the sons of Israel, but they did not listen to Moses on account of their despondency and cruel bondage.
  5. Now the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
  1. "너는 이집트 왕 파라오에게 가서 이스라엘 백성을 이 나라에서 내보내라고 요구하여라."
  2. 그러자 모세가 야훼께 아뢰었다. "보십시오. 이스라엘 백성들조차 제 말을 들어주지 않았는데, 말주변도 없는 제 말을 파라오가 어찌 들어주겠습니까?"
  3. 야훼께서는 모세와 아론에게 말씀하시고 이집트 왕 파라오에게 가서 이스라엘 백성을 이끌어내라는 분부를 내리신 것이다.
  4. 그들 가문의 선조는 다음과 같다. 이스라엘의 맏아들 르우벤의 아들들은 에녹, 발루, 헤스론, 가르미인데 이들이 르우벤의 가문이다.
  5. 시므온의 아들들은 여무엘, 야민, 오핫, 야긴, 소할, 가나안 여인에게서 난 사울인데 이들이 시므온의 가문이다.
  1. "Go, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the sons of Israel go out of his land."
  2. But Moses spoke before the LORD, saying, "Behold, the sons of Israel have not listened to me; how then will Pharaoh listen to me, for I am unskilled in speech?"
  3. Then the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, and gave them a charge to the sons of Israel and to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt.
  4. These are the heads of their fathers' households. The sons of Reuben, Israel's firstborn: Hanoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi; these are the families of Reuben.
  5. The sons of Simeon: Jemuel and Jamin and Ohad and Jachin and Zohar and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman; these are the families of Simeon.
  1. 레위의 아들들의 이름은 난 순서대로 게르손, 크핫, 므라리인데 레위는 백삼십칠 년을 살았다.
  2. 가문별로 말하면 게르손의 아들들은 리브니와 시므이이다.
  3. 크핫의 아들들은 아므람, 이스할, 헤브론, 우찌엘이다. 크핫은 백삼십삼 년을 살았다.
  4. 므라리의 아들들은 마흘리와 무시이다. 이것이 난 순서대로 본 레위의 가문이다.
  5. 아므람은 자기의 고모 요게벳에게 장가들어 아론과 모세를 낳았다. 아므람은 백삼십칠 년을 살았다.
  1. These are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations: Gershon and Kohath and Merari; and the length of Levi's life was one hundred and thirty-seven years.
  2. The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei, according to their families.
  3. The sons of Kohath: Amram and Izhar and Hebron and Uzziel; and the length of Kohath's life was one hundred and thirty-three years.
  4. The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their generations.
  5. Amram married his father's sister Jochebed, and she bore him Aaron and Moses; and the length of Amram's life was one hundred and thirty-seven years.
  1. 이스할의 아들들은 코라, 네벡, 지그리이다.
  2. 우찌엘의 아들들은 미사엘, 엘사반, 시드리이다.
  3. 아론은 암미나답의 딸이요, 나흐손의 누이인 엘리세바에게 장가들어 나답, 아비후, 엘르아잘, 이다말을 낳았다.
  4. 코라의 아들들은 아씨르, 엘카나, 아비아삽이다. 이것이 코라의 가문이다.
  5. 아론의 아들 엘르아잘은 부디엘의 한 딸을 아내로 맞아 비느하스를 낳았다. 이것이 가문별로 본 레위 일가의 조상이다.
  1. The sons of Izhar: Korah and Nepheg and Zichri.
  2. The sons of Uzziel: Mishael and Elzaphan and Sithri.
  3. Aaron married Elisheba, the daughter of Amminadab, the sister of Nahshon, and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
  4. The sons of Korah: Assir and Elkanah and Abiasaph; these are the families of the Korahites.
  5. Aaron's son Eleazar married one of the daughters of Putiel, and she bore him Phinehas. These are the heads of the fathers' households of the Levites according to their families.
  1. 야훼께서는 이 아론과 모세에게 이스라엘 백성을 부대로 편성해서 이집트 땅에서 이끌어내라고 분부하셨다.
  2. 이집트 왕 파라오에게 가서 이스라엘 백성을 이집트에서 내보내 달라고 말한 것은 바로 이들, 모세와 아론이었다.
  3. 야훼께서 이집트 땅에서 모세에게 말씀하시던 날,
  4. 야훼께서는 모세에게 이렇게 이르셨다. "나는 야훼다. 내가 너에게 하는 말을 이집트 왕 파라오에게 전하여라."
  5. 그러나 모세는 야훼께, "저는 이토록 말이 서투른 사람인데 파라오가 어찌 제 말을 듣겠습니까?" 하고 말하였다.
  1. It was the same Aaron and Moses to whom the LORD said, "Bring out the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their hosts."
  2. They were the ones who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt about bringing out the sons of Israel from Egypt; it was the same Moses and Aaron.
  3. Now it came about on the day when the LORD spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt,
  4. that the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, "I am the LORD; speak to Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I speak to you."
  5. But Moses said before the LORD, "Behold, I am unskilled in speech; how then will Pharaoh listen to me?"
