- 이 말씀을 하신 뒤 여드레쯤 지나서 예수께서는 베드로와 요한과 야고보를 데리고 기도하러 산으로 올라가셨다.
- 예수께서 기도하시는 동안에 그 모습이 변하고 옷이 눈부시게 빛났다.
- 그러자 난데없이 두 사람이 나타나 예수와 함께 이야기하고 있었다. 그들은 모세와 엘리야였다.
- 영광에 싸여 나타난 그들은 예수께서 머지않아 예루살렘에서 이루시려고 하시는 일 곧 그의 죽음에 관하여 예수와 함께 이야기를 나누고 있었다.
- 그 때 베드로와 그의 동료들은 깊이 잠들었다가 깨어나 예수의 영광스러운 모습과 거기 함께 서 있는 두 사람을 보았다.

- Some eight days after these sayings, He took along Peter and John and James, and went up on the mountain to pray.
- And while He was praying, the appearance of His face became different, and His clothing became white and gleaming.
- And behold, two men were talking with Him; and they were Moses and Elijah,
- who, appearing in glory, were speaking of His departure which He was about to accomplish at Jerusalem.
- Now Peter and his companions had been overcome with sleep; but when they were fully awake, they saw His glory and the two men standing with Him.

- 그 두 사람이 떠나려 할 때 베드로가 나서서 "선생님, 저희가 여기서 지내면 얼마나 좋겠습니까! 저희가 초막 셋을 지어 하나는 선생님께, 하나는 모세에게, 하나는 엘리야에게 드리겠습니다." 하고 예수께 말하였다. 무슨 소리를 하는지 자기도 모르고 한 말이었다.
- 베드로가 이런 말을 하고 있는 사이에 구름이 일어 그들을 뒤덮었다. 그들이 구름 속으로 사라져 들어가자 제자들은 그만 겁에 질려버렸다.
- 이 때 구름 속에서 "이는 내 아들, 내가 택한 아들이니 그의 말을 들어라!" 하는 소리가 들려왔다.
- 그 소리가 그친 뒤에 보니 예수밖에는 아무도 보이지 않았다. 제자들은 아무 말도 못 하고 자기들이 본 것을 얼마 동안 아무에게도 말하지 않았다.
- 다음날 예수의 일행은 산에서 내려와 큰 군중과 마주치게 되었다.

- And as these were leaving Him, Peter said to Jesus, "Master, it is good for us to be here; let us make three tabernacles: one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah"--not realizing what he was saying.
- While he was saying this, a cloud formed and began to overshadow them; and they were afraid as they entered the cloud.
- Then a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My Son, My Chosen One; listen to Him!"
- And when the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. And they kept silent, and reported to no one in those days any of the things which they had seen.
- On the next day, when they came down from the mountain, a large crowd met Him.

- 그 때 웬 사람이 군중 속에서 큰소리로 "선생님, 제 아들을 좀 보아주십시오. 하나밖에 없는 자식입니다.
- 그 아이는 악령이 덮치기만 하면 갑자기 소리를 지르면서 입에 거품을 물고 경련을 일으킵니다. 그래서 온몸에 상처를 입습니다만 악령은 좀처럼 떨어지지 않습니다.
- 그래서 선생님의 제자들에게 악령을 쫓아내 달라고 했지만 쫓아내지 못했습니다." 하며 소리쳤다.
- 예수께서는 "이 세대가 왜 이다지도 믿음이 없고 비뚤어졌을까! 내가 언제까지나 너희와 함께 살며 이 성화를 받아야 한단 말이냐? 그 아이를 나에게 데려오너라." 하셨다.
- 그 아이가 예수께 오는 도중에도 악령이 그 아이를 거꾸러뜨리고 발작을 일으켜놓았다. 예수께서는 더러운 악령을 꾸짖어 아이의 병을 고쳐서 그 아버지에게 돌려주셨다.

- And a man from the crowd shouted, saying, "Teacher, I beg You to look at my son, for he is my only boy,
- and a spirit seizes him, and he suddenly screams, and it throws him into a convulsion with foaming at the mouth; and only with difficulty does it leave him, mauling him as it leaves.
- "I begged Your disciples to cast it out, and they could not."
- And Jesus answered and said, "You unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you and put up with you? Bring your son here."
- While he was still approaching, the demon slammed him to the ground and threw him into a convulsion. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the boy and gave him back to his father.

- 사람들은 모두 하느님의 위대한 능력을 보고 놀라 마지않았다.
- "너희는 지금 내가 하는 말을 명심해 두어라. 사람의 아들은 머지않아 사람들의 손에 넘어가게 될 것이다." 하고 말씀하셨다.
- 그러나 제자들은 그 말씀을 깨닫지 못하였다. 그 말씀의 뜻이 감추어져 있어서 제자들은 알아들을 수도 없었고 그렇다고 또 감히 물어볼 생각도 못하였던 것이다.
- 제자들 가운데 누가 제일 높으냐 하는 문제로 그들 사이에서 말다툼이 일어났다.
- 예수께서는 그들의 생각을 아시고 어린이 하나를 데려다가 곁에 세우신 다음

- And they were all amazed at the greatness of God But while everyone was marveling at all that He was doing, He said to His disciples,
- "Let these words sink into your ears; for the Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men."
- But they did not understand this statement, and it was concealed from them so that they would not perceive it; and they were afraid to ask Him about this statement.
- An argument started among them as to which of them might be the greatest.
- But Jesus, knowing what they were thinking in their heart, took a child and stood him by His side,

- 제자들에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "누구든지 내 이름으로 이런 어린이를 받아들이면 곧 나를 받아들이는 것이며 또 나를 받아들이면 나를 보내신 분을 받아들이는 것이다. 너희 중에서 제일 낮은 사람이 제일 높은 사람이다."
- 요한이 나서서 "선생님, 어떤 사람이 선생님의 이름으로 마귀를 쫓아내는 것을 보았는데 그는 우리와 함께 다니는 사람이 아니었습니다. 그래서 그런 일을 못하게 막았습니다." 하고 말하였다.
- 예수께서는 "너희를 반대하지 않는 사람은 너희를 지지하는 사람이니 막지 마라." 하고 말씀하셨다.

- and said to them, "Whoever receives this child in My name receives Me, and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me; for the one who is least among all of you, this is the one who is great."
- John answered and said, "Master, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name; and we tried to prevent him because he does not follow along with us."
- But Jesus said to him, "Do not hinder him; for he who is not against you is for you."
